Thanks for joining me on my walk around Basildon Park! It's such a beautiful place, from the house itself to the lovely gardens-I really enjoyed exploring it all. My personal favourite was the Shell Room, it’s so unique! Fun fact: if the house felt familiar, you might have seen it in Bridgerton or Downton Abbey-it’s had its fair share of screen time. How about you? Was there a room that stood out to you? Maybe the grand dining room or the cosy library? Let me know your favourite in the comments, I’d love to hear what caught your eye! 🏛
Ruth Mott, the remarkable cook in the BBC series "The Victorian Kitchen Garden", worked at Basildon Park in the 1970s and 1980s. I've seen pictures of her in that fabulous mid-century kitchen, which is wonderfully out of place in the midst of the Georgian house!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve never heard of Ruth Mott before, but the series sounds interesting! While a stylistic clash, I’m quite a fan of the mid-century look.

Is it built from stone or is it stone cladding 🤔
Basildon Park is built from Bath Stone, not just cladding-it's the main material used in the construction. Hope that helps! 😊
