Man if I went that far to take the tank off, I’d polish the straps and the strap lines out, too. Well, perfection is in the eyes of the beholder I suppose.

Truck is really coming together, what do you have planned next? Sleeper/cab drop panels? Get some lights in the back of the bunk before a new interior? Keep up the great work and vids!

It's gonna be too late.. but it would have been smart idea to pull pin at fuel tank bracket. Inspect the tank strap look where it's pinned to bracket.. the aluminum tank straps r known to crack..and eventually could break and drop tank when full of fuel usually. 3 of my 4 straps were cracks..2 all the way across. We cleaned..welded cracks..then added a 1/4 strap around the loop.. basically fixed old straps..

Oh dang it I wish I would have known that sooner, especially with this truck working in the dirt, everything seems too break and crack faster lol. I might just have to look into getting some nice stainless straps! Thanks for the heads up though! And thanks for the comments!

@@MarichTrucking .. u still can.. block up one end.. loosen strap. Pull pin. To check them. Little more work with tanks back on. But wont be hard since just had tanks off. U have access to see down top of back tank brackets since u put coffin sleeper on. Get flashlight..look down may have to blow dirt and rock out. On mine they were packed with crap.

It just seemed easier to polish it with something holding it in place, but hey like I said I ain’t no professional! Haha

@@MarichTrucking for 20 to 30 dollars you go to harbor freight And get tank stands and it hold the tank for you
