Depending on size of boulders they can be worse but I dump them in the same way! Plus dumping boulders if you’re jack knifed a little bit like you were there’s less chance for tipping the truck over. I think my favorite thing to haul is the equipment though. Also spread dumping a dump truck and pup is very fun

Yeah sounds like boulders can really suck! I want to get into hauling equipment so bad I think I would like that quite a bit more than side dump work. Just gotta get myself a lowboy!

@@MarichTrucking getting a low boy would be nice! Just remember you have to have the clientele to back it! Make as many friends as you can in the dirt and you’ll slowly start to have it!

Concrete is rough but not the worst, rip rap and boulders are the worst. We were hauling loads of 2 rocks that were between 26-29 tons per 2 rocks. The key to hauling Concrete or any bigger rock is to have the operator line the bottom of your bed with a little bit of dirt or other smaller aggregate to pad the bottom. Also i don't tarp sharp loads like concrete or big rock. I didn't think Utah was a tarp state? At least it wasn't a few years ago when i was working for Staker Parsons and Granite.

Yeah I’ve heard a lot of horror story’s about dumping boulders, lots of guys flipping over dumping boulders. That doesn’t sound fun at all! Yeah with in the last couple years dot has been hammering down on the dirt guys without tarps around here

I run belly dumps so favorite thing to haul is road base, least favorite is wet clay. Wet clay makes for a loooong day......

I haven’t pulled belly’s yet, but that makes total sense! I like spreading some road base in the side dump too

Pennsylvania wants a tarp over almost all loads

It seems like Utah didn’t used to be as bad about enforcing tarps but within the last few years they’ve really cracked down
