Thanks a lot had an aftermarket radio that didn’t have a remote wire so the alternative location (ignition switch) was definitely what I needed to power on my amps..
Use a fuse tap. Its a small device that you can locate in the main fuse box inside the car. Usually the drivers side. This fuse tap has a fuse male that you put in place of one of the fuses used for an accesory that only turns on with the ignition. It provides two female fuse ports, one for the fuse that you took out and one for the new wire that comes out of the device. This wire you root to the amp to send 12 v and tells it to come on when the key is in on position. I did it to turn on an aftermarket stereo because the original stereo used a digital signal from the cars computer to power on. The fuse tap costs less than a dollar and probably will provide several fuses to tailor your needs.
I took a piece of wire and bridged it out between the positive terminal of the amp to the remote terminal and powered it up that way. This was done to test the amp, I will be installing a switch in the same location as this is not going in a car but will be a project for a sick portable stereo ...
Got a buddy wanting me to install a amp and subs and was thinking of doing that same thing with little wire from 12 v to the the remote but will that still cut that amp off when the cars off or draw of the battery at all
I was doing the same thing it will kill your battery you have to jump start it in the morning or you take the wire off when you get out of your car@@davidclifton5186
So mine is wired right I assume I've had my set up all hooked up for 1 year no issue then outta no where my subs only work when in in accessory mode but as soon as my car is on it doesnt
This means you have the sub always on and drain the car battery or that every time you get in or out of your car you switch it on and off. Now isn't them both dumb? Just hook the one end of the wire at the radio fuse located in the passenger's compartment fuse box.

I would imagine that just connecting the amp remote wire to the switched power wire at the head unit would work just fine.Just get a bigger wire nut cause you'll have 3 wires coming together at that point.
I got a Kennwood KAC 6407 and it turns on without a remote or a hi lo adapter. It has instead a speaker level input with a signal sensing turn on. I guess amplifiers did not have this feature when this video was made.

My Belva 10" sub kit I got from ebay is draining my battery when it sits. when I pull off the big red power wire from the fuse that comes with the kit mounted near the battery my meter drops, so I know it's the amp drawing power while the car is off. I even removed the blue remote turn on to see if that was letting it draw power, with the blue wire off it is still drawing power from the battery. It's just pulling a very little amount of power to drain my battery over a few days of car sitting.

I have a 08 Honda civic coupe with a factory amp. I put aftermarket Kenwood double din in with all wires wired correctly and it works but I'm getting no sound from speakers.
NO! That's a terrible idea! 1) You will drain your car's battery because the amp will be always on. 2) The remote only needs 12v at no more than 0.5Ah. Your 14,4v and more than 45Ah from the car battery is overkill don't you think? 3) There is a reason why it is called Remote Connection and not Bridge It With The + Beside Connection. 4) It is very easy to find 12v accessory allover your car but the best way is from the passenger's comparment fuse box.

this doesnt apply to me (i have an aftermarket headunit) but could you run just a wire from battery to a toggle switch to the remote on the amp, as long as you remembered to turn off when done. could get a bright back lit toggle switch to remind you to turn it off.
Had to do this on my '11 Silverado (among other things to get a usable signal from the Bose head unit to the amps). I used a toggle with a red LED and mounted it to the panel below the steering wheel. I think I tested everywhere for a 12v source at the key on position. Never found one.

Yes, this is a low current power wire. It is just used to send a signal to power the amp, so it powers up op amp circuit in the amp. I believe it is around 50mA. Yes and the distribution block I purchased had individual fuse for each output.
Javier Altagracia ok where did you get this distribution block
so if i dont have a remote trigger on my amp and i want it to turn on when i turn the car on. youre saying to just run power from after my ignition switch? is that tiny wire going to be able to supply the power to my amp without melting? i got a 800watt amp so idk man
Yes, this is a low current power wire. It is just used to send a signal to power the amp, so it powers up op amp circuit in the amp. I believe it is around 50mA. Actually power wire that goes to the amp must be thick cause that pulls heavy current, depending on your amp and your subs, but it can be around 30Amps+
Ii use a transistot and a micro chip for my amp turn on
What will cause the remote wire on the head unit not to work?
Yeah mine don't work, did you figure it out
hi guys, having a bit of an issue not sure if you'd be able to help me. my monoblock is connected to my subs the subs play fine but the gains on the amp dont work at all so if i turn them all the way down or all the way up absolutely nothing happens please assist me
IF i hook up the remote wire directly to a 12v+ wire, will the amp stay powered and work well?? Cuz the amp turns on
YES
Is the blue and yellow wire the remote wire
Blue and white
Blue and white usually but also tapping on the only blue (antenna) can work.
I have a LOC and it is just keeping the sub on. Does this mean i need a new LOC?
No, Your amps remote wire is probably tapped into a constant +12v . Look for a accessory switched +12v and connect your remote to that.
Sick Jacket Bro!!!!
I have a stock head unit In my 2004 Honda CRV? when I have my ignition turned to the AC power the amp and my speakers work perfectly fine but when i turn the key to turn on the engine than my speakers and subs and amp doesn't work anymore. What can I do to fix this mess
