Even maximum hard work, streneous efforts and meticulous planning were there for this historical movie Rajaraja Chozhan it was not successful. A high budjet expensive film was not accepted by the people and it badly flopped. This movie should have been released much before early 1970 and people would have liked this historical movie. It is highly painful that a film produced with huge expenditure had resulted in a pathetic end.
@@sgsarma6985 Dear Sarmaji, It is true that despite the best efforts of the film crew, who might have toiled hard as you rightly stated, unfortunately the fruits could not be reaped. But that is nothing to do with the quality of the film. While it might have definitely appealed to the literary public/high class audience (not monetarily but taste-wise) very well, who could appreciate the film, it could not create so-called magic among common masses. Also one among the reasons may be that during that time, usually every year 8 - 10 movies of Sivaji were released, sometimes even two/three simultaneously or at short intervals. The film could have been shot even in 35 mm itself, by avoiding more prior publicity which created enormous expectations and dreams among audience generally beyond certain level, by not taking into consideration the possibility and realitical situation in film-making during the very first effort of Cinemascope in South Indian filmdom during that period. But as you truly understood, correctly assessed and viewed, all the people involved in the movie did wonderfully despite financial constraints faced at later stages of making of the said film. My feeling is that they could have made an excercise, through an understanding among all the producers, either by advancing the release dates or by postponing the release of other Sivaji movies, so as to give priority to this first Cinemascope film that too with historical background. In that case, success could've been attained. OK. What ever it is Raja Raja Chozan is a magnum opus of Tamil Cinema. May be due to budget limit this movie is pruned. But as usual Sivaji Ganesan excelled and lived like the Chozha Emperor. APN too scored very well, as usual. But the music is some what lacking. If KVN Mama would have put music to this film this movie would have attained the zenith.
Dear Mr. Parthasarathy, No doubt, as you said, Mama (KVM) would have taken the film to stiil greater heights and would have proved his mettle. But in my humble opinion, I feel that scope for scoring that kind of music was not that much and also which, otherwise if done so, won't highlight and speak about Raja Rajan exclusively to a level desired by many audience including historians, Tamil lovers and people giving more weightage to devotional aspect rather than music. Hence, rather than concentrating on music, importance might have been given to these aspects. I think reasonaly a good job has been done by the Music crew, suitable to the situation and looking from the angle of purely devotional and literary aspect. I fully endorse your views about கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன் and other movies which deserve due recognition by the masses but unfortunately failed to get so. Sivaji was the one and only actor who acted in the first cinemascope movie of Telugu as Alexander the Great (Chanakya Chandragupta) and also in Malayalam (Thaccholi Ambu) and thus, the sole credit goes to this genius only for having acted in the very first Cinemascope movies of 3 languages, in different characters. I am really amazing about your statistics on Cinemascope movies in different languages. Any way Sivaji Ganesan was not properly glorified in Tamilnadu as well as in India. Dadasaheb Phalke award was bestowed to him very lately. More so he was not awarded with best actor award Bharat. For his Mudal Mariyadhai flim Sivaji should have got even Bharat Ratna.

You please define exactly as to what is Over acting, a term coined by a few for the reasons best known to themselves only. You should elaborate on that term property with Clippings from his films by offering your clear explanation, so as to enable the viewers to understand about your knowledge in various acting methods and register their comments appropriately. If you are an actor, you can demonstrate about your acting capabilities and release a video accordingly. Since you expressed about boredom that also may be included in your agenda. there are more than 7 schools of acting such a Stanislovasky, messner, oscar wilde, etc., Please watch Gopal episodes of nadigarthilagamtv (youtube channel) to see how Sivaji Ganesan excelled in every one of them using each school of acting in different movies and in same movie for different roles. So called natrual acting is very boring because there are 7 types of personality traits among human beings. Please explain the natural acting is appropriate for which of the 7 personality traits. Seriously, would you have liked every one of your uncles from your mother and father side to have exactly the same type of personality? Would that not be boring? Sivaji Ganesan did all kinds of acting. Sometimes, he needs to act differently to bring the audience of B and C center to the theater who were donating blood to see MGR movies which was more commercial themed. From: V. கிரிபிரசாத் (68 ) ராஜ ராஜ சோழன் படம் இன்னும் பெரிய அளவில் எடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கலாம் என்பது ஓரளவு உண்மைதான் என்றாலும் அதை எடுத்த விதத்தை க்குறை சொல்ல ஒன்றுமில்லை என்பது என் தாழ்மைான கருத்து. சண்டைக்காட்சிகளுக்கு அதிக முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தால் நடிகர் திலகத்தின் ஒப்பற்ற நடிப்பின் பல பரிமாணங்களைக் கொணர முடியாமல் போயிருக்கும். ஏனெனில் ஒவ்வொரு அசைவிலும் அவர் மாமன்னன் ராஜ ராஜ சோழன் நேரில் வந்தது போல் பிரமையை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளார். ராஜ ராஜனின் மிகப்பெரிய ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ப்பிறகும் இன்றும் அவர் பெயர் கூறும் சாதனை அவர் தஞ்சை பெரிய கோயிலை எழுப்பியதுதான். மேலும் அவர் செய்த மகத்தான சாதனை மற்றும் தொண்டு என்னவெனில் இன்றும் அவர் பெயர் சொல்லும்படி மூவர் பாடிய தேவாரப்பாடல்களை தன் அறிவுக்கூர்மையினால் சாதுரியமாக மீட்டெடுத்தது. காலத்தால் அழியாத அவருடையஇந்த இரண்டு செயல்களும் மிகச்சிறந்த முறையில் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டு ள்ளன என்பதை யாரும் மறுக்க முடியாது. ராஜ தந்திரம் வெளிப்படும் காட்சிகளும் அதில் இழையோடும் நகைச்சுவையும் நன்றாகத்தான் உள்ளன. அவரின் இசை, நாட்டிய, இலக்கிய ஆர்வம் நன்கு வெளிப்படும் வண்ணமும் காட்சிகள் உண்டு. உடை அலங்காரங்கள் வெகு நேர்த்தியாக அமைந்துள்ளதும் ஒரு சிறப்பு. சில தேவையான இடங்களில் வரலாற்றில் கூறியபடி எளிமையான ஆனால் கம்பீரமான உடையிலும் நடிகர் திலகம் தோன்றுகிறார். போரின் தொடக்கத்தில் சிவாஜி முனிவர் போல் மாறுவேடம் தரித்து இரண்டு இளவரசர்கள் இடையே மட்டும் வாட்போர் நடக்க செய்து பெரும் உயிர்ச்சேதம் நடக்காமல் தடுப்பது அம்மன்னன் பிற்காலங்களில் அமைதியை விரும்பியதாகவே கொள்ள வேண்டும். பிறகு அவர் பாசறையிலிருந்து மிடுக்காக வெளியே வந்து ஒரு முறை கம்பீரமாக நோக்கி விட்டு பின் குதிரையில் ஏறிச்செல்வது ஒரு முழுப் போர் க்ககாட்சியை விட பிரம்மாண்டமானது. அதே போல் கோயில் கருவறையில் சிவ லிங்கத்தின் கீழ் இடது கையில் நெடிய வாளைத்தாங்கி நின்று வலது கையால் விமலாதித்தனை விலகச் சொல்லும் தோரணை ஒரு போர்க்காட்சியை விட மகத்தானது. வணக்கம். அருள் மொழி வர்மன் என்ற ராஜ ராஜனை சிறந்த முறையில் உருவாக்கிய அவருடைய அருமை அக்கையாரான குந்தவை நாச்சியாருக்கும் அவருக்கும் இருந்த பாசப் பிணைப்பும் சிறப்பாக க்காட்சிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. மாமன்னன் என்றாலும் மகளிடம் ஒரு தந்தையின் பாசமும் கண்டிப்பும், திருமணம் முடிந்து வழியனுப்பும் போது மன்னன் கண் கலங்குவதும் சிறந்த முறையில் படமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பாடல்கள் மற்றும் பின்னணி இசையும் சரியான, தேவையான இடங்களில் போதுமான அளவில் சிறந்த முறையில் கோர்க்கப்பட்டு வெகு பொருத்தமாக, வேண்டிய அளவில் முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டு அமைந்துள்ளது. எல்லாமே சரியான விகிதத்தில் கலந்து ஒரு பெரிய வரலாற்றை சுமார் மூன்று மணி நேரப்படமாக அமைத்து கண்ணுக்கும் கருத்துக்கும் விருந்தாக அமைந்து காலத்தை வென்ற படம் ராஜ ராஜ சோழன்.வணக்கம். What ever it is Raja Raja Chozan is a magnum opus of Tamil Cinema. May be due to budget limit this movie is pruned. But as usual Sivaji Ganesan excelled and lived like the Chozha Emperor. APN too scored very well, as usual. But the music is some what lacking. If KVN Mama would have put music to this film this movie would have attained the zenith.

Dear Mr. Parthasarathy, No doubt, as you said, Mama (KVM) would have taken the film to stiil greater heights and would have proved his mettle. But in my humble opinion, I feel that scope for scoring that kind of music was not that much and also which, otherwise if done so, won't highlight and speak about Raja Rajan exclusively to a level desired by many audience including historians, Tamil lovers and people giving more weightage to devotional aspect rather than music. Hence, rather than concentrating on music, importance might have been given to these aspects. I think reasonaly a good job has been done by the Music crew, suitable to the situation and looking from the angle of purely devotional and literary aspect. I fully endorse your views about கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன் and other movies which deserve due recognition by the masses but unfortunately failed to get so. Sivaji was the one and only actor who acted in the first cinemascope movie of Telugu as Alexander the Great (Chanakya Chandragupta) and also in Malayalam (Thaccholi Ambu) and thus, the sole credit goes to this genius only for having acted in the very first Cinemascope movies of 3 languages, in different characters. I am really amazing about your statistics on Cinemascope movies in different languages. Any way Sivaji Ganesan was not properly glorified in Tamilnadu as well as in India. Dadasaheb Phalke award was bestowed to him very lately. More so he was not awarded with best actor award Bharat. For his Mudal Mariyadhai flim Sivaji should have got even Bharat Ratna.

You please define exactly as to what is Over acting, a term coined by a few for the reasons best known to themselves only. You should elaborate on that term property with Clippings from his films by offering your clear explanation, so as to enable the viewers to understand about your knowledge in various acting methods and register their comments appropriately. If you are an actor, you can demonstrate about your acting capabilities and release a video accordingly. Since you expressed about boredom that also may be included in your agenda. there are more than 7 schools of acting such a Stanislovasky, messner, oscar wilde, etc., Please watch Gopal episodes of nadigarthilagamtv (youtube channel) to see how Sivaji Ganesan excelled in every one of them using each school of acting in different movies and in same movie for different roles. So called natrual acting is very boring because there are 7 types of personality traits among human beings. Please explain the natural acting is appropriate for which of the 7 personality traits. Seriously, would you have liked every one of your uncles from your mother and father side to have exactly the same type of personality? Would that not be boring? Sivaji Ganesan did all kinds of acting. Sometimes, he needs to act differently to bring the audience of B and C center to the theater who were donating blood to see MGR movies which was more commercial themed. Do you want Sivaji Ganesan to make money for his producers or bankrupt them?
