"Let me put three fluiducts here. I don't THINK it's a hot gas, so it should be fine." "I have no idea what those three explosions were..." "Didn't I put three fluiducts here?" "Guys... I figured out what that explosion was..."
We all love and hate sometimes, but I think most people tend to be louder when they're hating. I've seen complaints about him doing the same things, using the same old mods, not using the old mods enough, using the AA drill (or canola or anything else from AA), not making builds pretty, trying too hard to make builds pretty. But, these same people are back the next day to watch, so he must be doing something right. It makes me glad my channel is smaller, and makes me want to try harder to leave comments about the things I like.
That's a vague point of view. There is nothing mystical about the people complaining sticking around. As the people who aren't interested enough to pay attention have nothing to complain about. In all the examples you provide, the viewers clearly are interested. cheers, good luck with youtube and try not to hate the haters too much
Very good point. I guess I just have a hard time understanding why there's always so much negativity in the comments. Constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement are nice, but the constant, repetitive whining and complaining gets a bit tiring. I definitely appreciate that direwolf20 takes viewer comments into account without getting caught up in the negativity.
I don’t think it’s that people hate canola power. It’s just been done so much as mid game power. That’s why I had skipped it in my own base and went for syngas.
I dislike canola because the top-tier version is markedly less efficient. It uses crystallized canola seeds AND crystallized canola oil to produce 1 bucket of empowered oil, which produces less power than the 2 crystallized oil used to make it.
In 1.12 Thermal Expansion added the feature allowing crafting recipes using fluid buckets to be substituted with TE Tanks instead. This way you don't have to add a bucket every craft, but it takes 1 Bucket of liquid from the tank. Really neat feature, you should try it out.
I just tried it and it still works for me. It ONLY works with Thermal Expansion Portable Tanks though. Not other tanks. Keep that in mind. Maybe not all fluids are supported. But Signalum, Enderium and Lumium as well as Treated Wood crafts are possible and some more.
Loving the series. We understand the need for Refined Storage. Just wanted to encourage you. If you are having fun, so are we. Also my pipes blew up on me before I saw this episode so I chuckled a bit waiting on you to figure out the connection. Loved it, very entertaining! Good episode my friend. Keep up the good work Dire!
Hey dire you can use the carpenter from forestry to make wood pulp each wood pulp has the same carbon as a wood log and you get 4 wood pulp per log it really helps if you find you are burning through wood too fast
I predicted advanced generators before he went for refined storage, welp. Now let's imagine him drooling over being able to use ethylene in it and laugh
Oh this was awesome. Good on you Dire, good on you! I haven't seen Syngas before and so it was a nice touch to use this method. Plus the advanced generators mod is pretty awesome so nice choice. Glad you are hearing some of our complaints, its really awesome. I will say, on the refined storage, I am fine with it and think its a perfect step up and advancement. But yeah, it was really cool seeing something new. So multiple thumbs up on that.
I am not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but a more viable solution for syngas production is pulp from Forestry. Although it takes twice as much as a log, you get 4 from one log...meaning you get twice the carbon. A carpenter from Forestry makes the pulp very quickly from logs and water.
After I've heard the sound of explosion and found the fact that fluiducts disappeared, I knew exactly what was going wrong, but Dire was going WUUUUUUT
you do what you need to do dire i love your videos regardless, i always learn something new from you i would be lost in the modding world of minecraft without your videos. keep up the great work :)

Refined Storage forever! I'm looking forward to Reborn Storage too! By the way, if you make a Material Stonework Factory and set the first three modes to Grind and the last mode to Stopped, you'll get Cobble, Gravel, Sand and SILICON! Also Guys, if you are sick of the broken FTBU chunk loading, Chikenchunks is available in Beta for 1.12. Peace!
Just putting this out there regarding the beginning of the video. I don't think it's so much that you're using Refined Storage again, but more so that you're over explaining (and over complicating) it.
Shawn Gunnels, doesn't explain how over complicated he made things, especially the solderers, which we know from seasons past he can do more efficientlyy than he did.
His setup didn't save resources and no conduits were necessary. All he needed to do was put the crafter right on the solderer and an exporter (or something else) to pull the results out. I think he just momentarily forgot how the solderer works. He was saying something about "sidedness" which no longer exist with the solderer. But, it happens to all of us sometimes. There's a lot to keep track of in modded minecraft. ;)
As a daily viewer since season 2(?) of you let's plays (when you did the short collab with Doc & MonkeyFarm); I can honestly say I enjoy all the content, even things you've "done before". So many things change in this game, especially when mods are involved, that I always manage to learn something. (even if it's that Thermal sees fluids crafted with something hot, as a hot fluid itself) Keep making content you enjoy Sir. o/ Take it easy!
Playing catch up but what about the RFTools storage system its what I use as my tier 1 storage/sorting system (using basic power cells and linking cards) my storage and auto crafting is completely wireless and operates at long range
DW20 - great to see you using Adv Gen for mid-game power! I like the notion of bringing in other mods to enhance this setup and push it into late-game. TE can make steam and Astral Sorcery can grow those trees uber fast. I'm deliberately getting late-game power from odd channels this world (same seed as you) ala XU2 and Astral Sorcery. Just upgraded to 4,000RF/t day and night via stuffed eggplant flowing into my tier 4 energy core. I don't know why there are fanboys emerging for AE2 vs RS but you have to use something and your reasons for RS this world are 100% valid. Thanks for reading the comments and taking them on-board in the series and as always thanks for this LP! Really enjoying this series and pack!
Had a play in creative - Industrial Foregoing and Astral Sorcery make an amazing 3x3 oak farm that chews through trees when everything is upgraded. Then I made a fairly complex Thermal Expansion/Extra Utilities 2 setup to process the oak into planks with charcoal and creosote as byproducts thanks to the newest augments. No logs are converted into charcoal they *ALL* go into planks. Charcoal byproduct in a steam dynamo can power the entire tree farm and wood processing plant. The creosote goes into a compression dynamo with the boiler conversion augment to generate steam for the syngas producer. Both the steam and RF are building in their buffers. Planks then flow to the syngas producer along with the steam and I'm making around 3mb/t of syngas using 3 mixing chambers; 2 fall behind the plank production and 3 keeps ahead. This is enough syngas for a 4,500RF/t advanced generator. Fun thing is, the entire machine is energy/materials positive so a nice complex Rube Goldberg device that puts out a constant 4,500RF/t. The most fun in modded MC is the cross-mod interactions!
Pro tip: there is a key binding with one of the mods to move all items of a single type into the open container from your inventory, massive time saver when moving an inventory full of logs (it’s like hold control/alt+shift or something) Doesn’t work with Refined storage but totally works with chests and the like.
Syngas = Also used IRL for power and has a decent kick to it. Personally I think seeing Advanced Generators will be a great change from seeing Extreme Reactors as the go-to power generation. I'll always love watching Deep Resonance since I'm a huge fan of the power crystal concept. #morepower4u
Refined Storage is like so fucking OP and lacks features. AE2 has reasonable restrictions and benefits. The channel system in AE2 forces you to organize your systems in a reasonable manner (not that dire does this...), refined storage allows for direwire explicitly. with Refined Storage you can't organize your lines so that you know exactly where certain lines go, with AE2 it allows color coding. Simply while AE2 is more complex, but it does look a lot better and is a lot better organized. Refined storage is like the old AE from 1.4.7, which was hard to organize and a lot harder to route cables for.
A lot of AE2's complexity is just complexity for the sake of being complex - it doesn't add anything. Take the Inscriber plates, for example. Why do they need to be found in world? Why not just make an inscriber recipe with a Block of Iron and the material the respective plate is used with (Gold, Diamond, etc.)? What does that add? Especially when there is a recipe to duplicate the plates with Blocks of Iron already, meaning that on servers, only 1 person has to find each plate, and then they can duplicate them for everybody else. Why is Fluix an in-world craft? Why not just make it a crafting bench recipe - 1 Nether Quartz, 1 Charged Certus, 1 Redstone, and a Bucket of Water, shapeless? Why does the crystal growth mechanic produce separate, "Pure", crystals? Only like 1 recipe even cares about the difference, aside from the "Block Of" recipes, and making compatibility nightmares. Why can't we shift-click recipes from NEI/JEI? Why even have 64k drives, when the Item Type limit makes them completely worthless, especially since there are like a dozen different ways to store 64 thousand cobble more cheaply, such as Storage Drawers, Thermal's Caches, JABBA if your in a version with that, etc. Why do storage drives not store how much they say they store? A 64k drive doesn't even store 64 thousand cobble, because apparently it uses real hard drive math or something? But my hard drive doesn't seem to care about how many different types of file it has, so realism didn't seem to be an issue, it just makes things less intuitive. I could go on and on (I suppose I did...). Even if some of these can be refuted, (I suppose a case COULD be made for the hard drive math thingy), the sheer number of issues should speak for itself. Raoul has also shown himself willing to listen and respond to feedback - for instance, the Solderer initially had very poor i-siding, if any at all. Dire and some others expressed concern, and so he changed it to be more intuitive - extraction only pulls from output slots, input always pushes to the input slots, which sort appropriately, with recipes designed to avoid conflict for auto-crafting (Redstone is always in the middle, for instance). RS even has fluid support built in. For all these reasons, and more, I find RS to be a better designed mod than AE2.
PokePika, I wasn't talking about the stupid crafting mechanics or the meteor bullshit. I was specifically thinking of network management and capabilities. And the 64k drives are very much worth while, unless you are storing several single items, witch would more effectively be stored in lets say a Actually Additions Crate. OH then P2P networks make routing things a lot more effective, while also making it so that you can have multiple networks for different purposes. I'm not going to say that AE2 has some stupid mechanics, but it is balanced in such a way that it isn't end game but it isn't early game either. It takes a while to build up the complexity and by the time you are auto crafting everything and using just the AE system you've basically completed the game. and my issues with refined storage come from the balance. I said Refined Storage is Over Powered. I feel that is it too powerful for the cost it has, but it is also far too simple, and has some pretty remarkable limitations. for example, you can't have multiple buses in the same block, and you can't have long distance or wireless networks (as far as i'm aware). there are limitations with organization. You can't place facades on the wires. and there is really no way to separate networks, like if you wanted a separate network just to handle processing, or if you wanted a separate network just to handle power production. With AE2 it is incredibly easy to micromanage everything. and I don't disagree that AE2's crafting is bullshit at best, but it is over all more powerful and better designed then Refined Storage. on a side note, i think Hard Drives have a limit of 63 partitions, and since each item takes up one partition that limitation exists. And another reason why the drives don't show item counts is because different items and blocks have different costs for storage. you can store a heck of a lot more cobble then you can iron, I think. I digress, the reason why AE2 is just a better mod, it because it is better balanced and more capable. Refined Storage is just limited in pretty weird ways, though for most people these limitations might not be an issue.
He could have quadrupled his Ardite and Cobalt using Cinnabar =,= and then get when combined gets twice as much Manyullyn.....which ends up how much times as much ? like 8x times more ?
Nah. 2 ingots of ardite and cobalt = 2 ingots of manyllyn and yes he could get cinnabar and put it with ores, but it still would be 4 ingot of ardite and cobalt = 4 ingots manyllyn, so not 8x more manyllyn but 4 times.
Having a spruce tree/tree oil power gen leading into this is even better. The rosin by-product can be used by a single steam dynamo (converted to produce steam rather than power) to heat the mixer rather than use the wood. And the tree power gen is producing power in addition to the turbines (granted it's a lot less but it's completely endless and free power soooo...)
Following allow and playing in the same seed, using it to learn which is great! @43:44 you made me laugh because you had no idea what was blowing up (i learned the hard way as i'm using magmatic dynamo's rather than the refined fuel; couldn't get enough coal to keep it useful)
The more efficient way to get your cobalt and ardite is to 3x or 4x it in the induction smelter with cinnabar etc. Also you can use a portable tank in a crafting grid instead of buckets, so you can do multiple recipies at a time instead of using 4 buckets of enderium you can just fill your tank and use it in the crafting grid.
Always enjoying your series. You be you and build your world the way you want. There are only so many digital storage systems out there and unless you did RF Tools there isn’t another option. Especially early game.
I think planks are more efficient if you use a saw mill. Charcoal smelts 8 items whereas 6 planks (what you get if you use a saw mill) burns 6 * 1.5 items so 9 items, making the burn time longer. However I am saying this without knowing if the saw mill uses more power than the redstone furnace
Direwolf20, Keep doing you.. - I love you are doing Refined Storage. AE is what EVERYONE uses. And you have done AE so many times i feel like. - Nice to see you use another form of power production!
37:39 the fluiducts were the things exploding since snygas is a gas and all, when you disconnected the power export, the syngas in the turbine built up, but the producer didnt stop and the tank was likely full, resulting in the fluiducts having more pressure than they could handle and exploding but that's just my idea of what happened edit: ok nvm he found out what exploded
Advanced Generators is crazy. A Gas Turbine with fifty Manyullyn Turbines produces crazy amounts of power... Especially from Biodiesel. In fact,Biodiesel caps out its maximum output capacity. At fifty Manyullyn Turbines, the machine's maximum.
I am happy with the refined storage content and looking forward to you getting in to Reborn Storage. Either one that you went with would have been repeat content as you just did AE and it is not something that you could just not do as that would be miserable. I have had a few bug with it but the updates to the mod have been fun. PS. Angel Rings are Tiered now and the Squid Ring is easy to make and would be good flight for you right now.
Joe Kroth even angel ring is easy because only hard thing it needs is a ghast soul and that is really easy. And grid power is not a problem because water mills are OP
Refined Storage is like an uber alien artifact you would find. Easy to use, powerful and somewhat OP. AE2 is something humans would come up with after reverse engineering that alien artifact. It has channels, harder to use but more customizable to an extent. It is like the difference between DHD's and dialing computer in the SGC, in the Stargate series. DHD's are easy to use, much more compact, and is an alien design. SGC's dialing computer has the same function as the DHD, but is much harder to operate, but is a lot more customizable. (you can record adresses, bypass security measures of the stargate, run custom gate diagnostics, dial 8 and 9 chevron adresses that a DHD can't, but it dials a lot slower then a DHD and requires an external power source)
I think it was that you were mainly teaching your refined storage system crafting recipes for most of those epsiodes and that's what people didn't enjoy.
Yeah. The last few episodes I just let dire talk in the background tab while I'm doing something else because he's just doing busy work without real progression. He still doesn't have automated mining or the angel ring. But showing us how the pattern grid works is apparently really important.
you've been repeating content for years and I still enjoy watching you everyday XD, if you want something new in refined storage try setting up a system to automatically export encoded patterns into the crafters, I made it work to an extent and it made my life a lot easier although it broke if I had more than one blank pattern in my system, maybe you could improve on it, essentially export patterns to a chest (ignore meta and NBT), suck out of the chest with a pipe so the first available inventory is a locked drawer with blank patterns, and after that is a row of crafters..... at least that's how I did it.
There's another fuel that I used as early game power: biofuel. It is made from a IF bioreactor processing common seeds. I used melon seeds, and used a garden cloche + crafter as my renewable setup. You could also use an IF planter/tree farm setup that Dire cleaned up this episode.
Dire I prefer Refined Storage over AE. I don't like over-engineered solutions to simple problems. I am happy you used an Ender Chest to transfer wood, saplings, and apples from the farm to your base. This new power system is actually impressive. I'm looking forward to see what you do next.
"New" wouldn't be the word. And well I'd prefer AE over RS, but I can't decide, and I won't enforce it. Just play with what you want. But if only AE didn't have those 63 types limitation it would feel a little better.
cursed earth spawner (3 mob crushers each with their own 5x5 patch of the same room) -> feeding xp fluid to a mob spawner -> making wither skeletons -> which produce coal -> coal into pulverizer -> into magma crucible -> into fractionating still -> fractionating still -> a bunch of compression dynamos with ignition plugs. The amount of coal is increasing for me atm.
I would, and putting wood true the carpenter from forestry and and getting 4 wood pulp per log would be even better, as it has the same carbon amount as 1 wood, so you are pretty much 4x the carbon.
Adriano Šefanovsko I agree, but they still fun to play with. Plus the nicest opportunity is that they can light an area up for you, so no need to go to those dark caves anymore
Question.....I built an advanced generator that says it can make 3k rf/t. I have a big enough back log of trees that it is always full, so the tank of syngas is always full. But, my generator is only out 500 rf/t I have a hardened duct coming from it going into my energy storage cell. Any tips on why the power out put is so low ?
I like that you do Refined Storage, but I also can't help making a little bit of fun of you :P Also Dire make a Moving Wand from Better Wands, it can pick up monster spawners, so you could go to the nether and pick up a blaze spawner, and place it in the overworld in a killzone chamber, which nets you blaze rods that you could use in both furnace generators and for Endoflame mana generation.
Nope it isn't, as far as I know Tinkers is maintained by Boni, and Adv. Gen. is maintained by Bdew. It's just inter-compatibility for mods, you can use tinkers manyllyn as much as you can use Enderium for it. So it's just nice that it's added like that. If you have couple other mods it will allow you use those metals for power gen. And then theres power compatibility beween EU, RF, Tesla, Forge Energy, and MJ. So pretty nice of a mod.
Nah, mod authors just really like their mods to work together smoothly. It's the same reason Exchangers has Enderium Exchangers, Mystical Agriculture has draconium crops, etc.
Creators of mod packs can also customize recipes to make mods in their packs interact more. It's nice to see so many different mods all living together in harmony ::angels singing::... lol
Well depending on your building skill, it may just be better leaving everything under the base not above it, because most times, dire will fail at making a second floor on top.
so I'm planning on automating signalum, enderuim and Lumium any suggestions? (I'm planning on using an IE assembler) and I can't use the autocrafting using fluids in RS because I set up auto smelting dusts when I built my Environmental tech void ore miner
built the system just a quick warning to others, for some reason if I oredict on this machine it mixes up weird recipes and I honestly don't know where to report this. for some reason lead is getting oredicted with bronze and silver with invar... not a problem I just made new patterns without oredict (since I'm processing everything through thermal expansion it's all the same anyhow) and that seemed to fix it
And if you want to have a visual representation of your stored power you could always put two more energy cells beneath the first and use them sorta like the energy banks
Hey Dire! Still love your solo Let's Plays the best :-)... I've been watching your channel since the days of the old mic where you sounded like you were transmitting live, from the edge of space! You should check out YLANDS - I think you will really dig it!
"Let me put three fluiducts here. I don't THINK it's a hot gas, so it should be fine."
"I have no idea what those three explosions were..."
"Didn't I put three fluiducts here?"
"Guys... I figured out what that explosion was..."
I like that you are doing refined storage. Don't listen to the haters.
we actually like it too, we just love to hate more ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
We all love and hate sometimes, but I think most people tend to be louder when they're hating. I've seen complaints about him doing the same things, using the same old mods, not using the old mods enough, using the AA drill (or canola or anything else from AA), not making builds pretty, trying too hard to make builds pretty. But, these same people are back the next day to watch, so he must be doing something right. It makes me glad my channel is smaller, and makes me want to try harder to leave comments about the things I like.

Ay! You have a stack of likes! Congratulations!
I was completely sure this episode was gong to be f*****g canola power again. So happy to see something new!

Agreed
ive only used ae^2 and I was really excited to see you try refined storage, thanks for being awesome dire ! ! !
P-Serbian/Syber_Tv ae2 is more complex but I personally love the look of the mod so much more lol
In 1.12 Thermal Expansion added the feature allowing crafting recipes using fluid buckets to be substituted with TE Tanks instead. This way you don't have to add a bucket every craft, but it takes 1 Bucket of liquid from the tank.
Really neat feature, you should try it out.
Really? Neat, I'll have to check that out. Thanks!
Yeah i noticed that with creosote oil in a tank making treated wood. So useful.
Jackal In Hide JEI isn't always the best at this kind of substitution
I am using the latest version and am not able to use the tanks. Does it need to be upgraded?
I just tried it and it still works for me. It ONLY works with Thermal Expansion Portable Tanks though. Not other tanks. Keep that in mind.
Maybe not all fluids are supported. But Signalum, Enderium and Lumium as well as Treated Wood crafts are possible and some more.
Dire dont forget that there is an augment tha converts any dynamo into a steam producer
He could also smelt logs into charcoal which should have even more carbon value if it follows the burn time.
Wood, coal, and charcoal all have the same carbon value according to the tooltip in the syngas producer GUI
I think refined storage is the logical Choice since AOE was focused on AE2 and there's really no other option. I enjoyed the episode, thank you!
love the syngas dire! I completely don't mind you using your current storage system cause i know how you love your automation xD
I predicted advanced generators before he went for refined storage, welp.
Now let's imagine him drooling over being able to use ethylene in it and laugh
TheBelgianWaffl _ Gaming lol AE2 adds a lot of automation as well
Advanced Generators is a fun mod. I love the freeform structures, how easily scalable it is and how well it integrates with other mods.
yay no canola this season thank goodness
Oh this was awesome. Good on you Dire, good on you! I haven't seen Syngas before and so it was a nice touch to use this method. Plus the advanced generators mod is pretty awesome so nice choice.
Glad you are hearing some of our complaints, its really awesome.
I will say, on the refined storage, I am fine with it and think its a perfect step up and advancement.

34:57 no 9*9s ? what did you do with the actual DW20 ? Where is he ? Who are you ?
Hugo B.D lel
Snapp LEL? YOU FOOL! THIS IS A VERY DIRE SITUATION WE HAVE ON OUR HANDS!
9 by 18 incoming 😁
Thomas Strohl -_-
After I've heard the sound of explosion and found the fact that fluiducts disappeared, I knew exactly what was going wrong, but Dire was going WUUUUUUT
And that was a fun time xD
yep regular fluidducts cant transfer hot fluid
I learned that the hard way. The FTB claim chunk keeps from large explosions happening, if it was not for that half of that room would be a crater.
Yeah, Dire is surprisingly bad at realizing what's going wrong for someone who plays modded minecraft for a living.
wait when was this implemented?
I am definitely enjoying the series. However you should REALLY make the Stoneworks from Industrail Foregoing.
Okay, WHY should he make the Stoneworks?
Martin Dinner it's a cobblestone, stone, gravel, sand, glass, silicon, plus more generating machine that only requires power to operate.
Ah, so a one block cobbleworks? Nice!
you do what you need to do dire i love your videos regardless, i always learn something new from you i would be lost in the modding world of minecraft without your videos. keep up the great work :)
Holy crap. A "More Power" episode that's not Reactors??? SIGN ME UP, SOMETHING NEW FROM DIREWOLF! I knew this day would come in this series.
I don't mind that you are using Refined Storage over AE2, since you used AE in AOE.
Wow using Syngas! That is so refreshing! Dire is the best because he actually listens to us when we ask for new content!
As one of the new players who went so far as to use your link for creeperhost to make a server for my friend and I, thank you for mixing it up!

Also Guys, if you are sick of the broken FTBU chunk loading, Chikenchunks is available in Beta for 1.12. Peace!
Craftsman Chris was it fixed? chicken chunks always caused chunk problems in previous versions.
Yeah it was always laggy AF. I haven't had a single problem with FTBU chunk loading so I'm good.
Just putting this out there regarding the beginning of the video. I don't think it's so much that you're using Refined Storage again, but more so that you're over explaining (and over complicating) it.
digifreak90 he does it so people that are new or playing along know how to do the stuff we've seen from seasons past
Shawn Gunnels, doesn't explain how over complicated he made things, especially the solderers, which we know from seasons past he can do more efficientlyy than he did.
He was trying to save on resources at the time which he said in the video
no enderIO conduits in 1.12
His setup didn't save resources and no conduits were necessary. All he needed to do was put the crafter right on the solderer and an exporter (or something else) to pull the results out. Noooo not ae2
I want to learn refined storage
You have done ae more than rs
Refined storage is pretty simple (frankly, so is AE2). He's already shown practically all the mechanics except wireless, I believe.
You can learn RS by watching AE2. Most of the mechanics are very similar and Refined Storage is simpler than AE2.
xJMak90x x no not really he's done RF a lot more now
He generally starts with rf and goes to ae2 when he makes his enevrtable void base
xJMak90x x since never he's never done that he didn't even do a void base last let's play on 1.10.2
The comment he refers to was mine, see the "Auto Crafting" episode from this season.
Thank you for listening to your audience, Dire. Wonderful job.
Dire, compact machines have a 9x9 ,build you generator into a single cube!
I don't care you repeat youreself or not, I'm here for watching you make some FTB stuff, and accessory you doing Diredirp.
LoL. I kinda suspected what the explosion was. Fun to see all the confusion new mods bring to Direwolf's videos. :D
Pro tip: there is a key binding with one of the mods to move all items of a single type into the open container from your inventory, massive time saver when moving an inventory full of logs (it’s like hold control/alt+shift or something)
Doesn’t work with Refined storage but totally works with chests and the like.
I LIKE REFINED STORAGE!!! OMG YOU HAVE DONE AE2 SO MANY TIMES PLEASE SHOW ME MORE REFINED STORAGE
SO DIFIRENT MUCH LEARN THANK U DIRE20DADDY
I LIEK MISSPLELED CAPS LEL
Nah. 2 ingots of ardite and cobalt = 2 ingots of manyllyn and yes he could get cinnabar and put it with ores, but it still would be 4 ingot of ardite and cobalt = 4 ingots manyllyn, so not 8x more manyllyn but 4 times.
if mekanisims in here he could be doing x5 ores
Oh! I don't know that Advanced Generator so fucking awesome!! Thanks Dire!
Thermal expansion now adds an augment that can convert any dynamo into a steam boiler, so it produces steam instead of power :)
Having a spruce tree/tree oil power gen leading into this is even better. The rosin by-product can be used by a single steam dynamo (converted to produce steam rather than power) to heat the mixer rather than use the wood. And the tree power gen is producing power in addition to the turbines (granted it's a lot less but it's completely endless and free power soooo...)
why not change the dynamo specialisation to the turbine conversion and use that to produce steam for the syngas?
I love how dire go up and down his elevators at the same time
Following allow and playing in the same seed, using it to learn which is great! @43:44 you made me laugh because you had no idea what was blowing up (i learned the hard way as i'm using magmatic dynamo's rather than the refined fuel; couldn't get enough coal to keep it useful)
It was handy for me to see Refined Storage, because it took almost literally forever to find any AE2 meteorites. ;-/
i'm here to learn the mods so keep doing what you do it's great :)
Dire, please smelt your wood into charcoal. It is absolutely worth it.
It isn't efficient. Plus, charcoal pits (forestry) ;)
wood, charcoal, and coal all have the same carbon value
Back in 1.7.10, more carbon does come from charcoal. Conservation of mass doesn't exactly work here
You can make coal coke through the TE Redstone furnace ;)
Refined Storage over Applied Energistics any day! Looking forwards to see how it's improved and what the add-on mods can do :)
Great! I've been waiting to see what direction you were going to take for next tier power gen. And it looks cool!
Direwolf20, Keep doing you..
- I love you are doing Refined Storage. AE is what EVERYONE uses. And you have done AE so many times i feel like.
- Nice to see you use another form of power production!
You can use a portable tank in place of buckets for those crafting recipes / fluid transposer.
I was so tired of AE2 im glad you did this series
37:39 the fluiducts were the things exploding
since snygas is a gas and all, when you disconnected the power export, the syngas in the turbine built up, but the producer didnt stop and the tank was likely full, resulting in the fluiducts having more pressure than they could handle and exploding
but that's just my idea of what happened
edit: ok nvm he found out what exploded
And grid power is not a problem because water mills are OP
that "creepy noise" at 20:19 kinda reminds me of the warp effects from Thaumcraft
GET THE STONEWORKS FROM IF!
I totally died when those pipes exploded XD
you've been repeating content for years and I still enjoy watching you everyday XD, if you want something new in refined storage try setting up a system to automatically export encoded patterns into the crafters, I made it work to an extent and it made my life a lot easier although it broke if I had more than one blank pattern in my system, maybe you could improve on it,
essentially export patterns to a chest (ignore meta and NBT), suck out of the chest with a pipe so the first available inventory is a locked drawer with blank patterns, and after that is a row of crafters..... at least that's how I did it.
Looking forward for newer stuff but happy with the way things are now
Advanced Generators is nice to see. It would have been nice to see you use RFTools for storage too.
There's another fuel that I used as early game power: biofuel. It is made from a IF bioreactor processing common seeds. I used melon seeds, and used a garden cloche + crafter as my renewable setup.
You could also use an IF planter/tree farm setup that Dire cleaned up this episode.
He actually used that set up in his season 8 Let's play series
Come on guys. Watch past seasons/lets plays before commenting on things that dire knows.
You could use steam dynamos with the tar produced by your refined fuel production to supplement steam to the syngas producer.
cursed earth spawner (3 mob crushers each with their own 5x5 patch of the same room) -> feeding xp fluid to a mob spawner -> making wither skeletons -> which produce coal -> coal into pulverizer -> into magma crucible -> into fractionating still -> fractionating still -> a bunch of compression dynamos with ignition plugs. The amount of coal is increasing for me atm.
YAAAS HE'S FINALLY DOING ADVANCED GENERATORS!!! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!
@direwolf20 you can triple ardite and Cobalt only with sand and quadruple with cinnabar in the induction smelter.
Never used syngas before but wouldn't smelting the wood into charcoal produce more carbon?
I would, and putting wood true the carpenter from forestry and and getting 4 wood pulp per log would be even better, as it has the same carbon amount as 1 wood, so you are pretty much 4x the carbon.
Charcoal has the same carbon as wood, so no. Smelting would just be a waste of resources. Wood pulp might be a good idea though.
Danny & Son nope pulp has the same carbon as well
Edit: nm never used much forestry didn't know it gives 4 wood pulp for one log
I wasn't annoyed about you doing RS, it was spending 25 minutes organizing your items in drawers without a single cut...
Loving the series at the moment.
I wish I could see more mecreeps those things are adorable.
Yay for astral sorcery
Meecreeps are pointless if you can clear an area faster then them, or chop a tree faster.
Adriano Šefanovsko I agree, but they still fun to play with. Plus the nicest opportunity is that they can light an area up for you, so no need to go to those dark caves anymore
please do more new stuff like this! we love it! :D
Finally, something new.
Yes I am enjoying it, thank you for doing it :). Also thank you for doing syngas, I was getting ready to do that in my world, LOL. Now I know how.
Dire I love your let's play sure some of them have to be repeated season to season but overall it's very entertaining
@direwolf20 didn't the tool tip say 10 heating and 25 mixing? so isn't that 2.5 per?
thank you for repeat content, i ma new to modding
Aren't wooden planks more efficient then wood for syngas production?
For mor wood you can just change oak sapling for spruce it will be grow as 2x2 like jungle big tree and you get a LOT of wood.
@direwolf20 what do you think of build craft on 1.12?
Why did dire not process the wood into charcoal to boost syngas production
WE LOVE YOU DIREWOLF!!!!
I love how different mods mesh together, like with manyullyn, tinkers and advanced generators. Are these from the same author perhaps?
It's nice to see so many different mods all living together in harmony ::angels singing::... lol
Random fact: diamond is just extremely compressed coal so it is carbon
That zombie put me a little more on tilt every time it moaned.
Yes! Something new. thank you!
Ok i have request for next base: No basements. In AOE you had like 5 basements
Matijan Cvitanovic agreed do more floors above ground maybe
Well depending on your building skill, it may just be better leaving everything under the base not above it, because most times, dire will fail at making a second floor on top.
so I'm planning on automating signalum, enderuim and Lumium any suggestions? (I'm planning on using an IE assembler) and I can't use the autocrafting using fluids in RS because I set up auto smelting dusts when I built my Environmental tech void ore miner
built the system just a quick warning to others, for some reason if I oredict on this machine it mixes up weird recipes and I honestly don't know where to report this. for some reason lead is getting oredicted with bronze and silver with invar... not a problem I just made new patterns without oredict (since I'm processing everything through thermal expansion it's all the same anyhow) and that seemed to fix it
Love refined storage. AE2 is too much hassle for a fun pack.
And if you want to have a visual representation of your stored power you could always put two more energy cells beneath the first and use them sorta like the energy banks
Hi is tn this pack any mode similar project red or redstoun cables from EI?
Dire you should use the botania corporea networks
When a gas is made with steam and dire says it's probably not a hot fluid.......
please do autocrafting with botania or rftools
Hey Dire! Still love your solo Let's Plays the best :-)... I've been watching your channel since the days of the old mic where you sounded like you were transmitting live, from the edge of space!
You should check out YLANDS - I think you will really dig it!
