For me, the telltale sign that I'm "creating" a symptom is how much it connects to shame and self-loathing. For me, I'm not so much afraid of being sick or dying--I'm afraid of the shame that I messed up my health somehow, or I've ignored some symptom and caused my own demise, which is a reflection of my character.
You've spoken my very own truth, here. Every word. The self loathing seems ATTACHED to all of this, including the idea that I don't deserve good health anymore. Terrible.
I get a normal symptom first and after this I search in google and when it shows the dangerous diseases, I started getting the symptoms of that diseases. But after my anxiety goes over, in the bless of Almighty the symptoms goes. I'm a great hypochondriac. Many a times, I had this anxiety of different disease. Thank you that you help reliving anxiety. ❤
It is so crazy! I have somatic symptom disorder as well as illness anxiety disorder and it suuuuucks!! It’s so crazy how much your mind can play tricks on you to the point to where you don’t know what’s real or not. My mind has manifested symptoms like crazy and because I still struggle with this concept I truly believe I have that illness attached to the symptoms and it’s a vicious cycle. My own GP even told me that if you focus on one main symptom or body part that your mind will amplify it to the max and it will continue until you address the mental part of it. Even with things like chronic pain, your stress and anxiety level and your mind can cause chronic pain that is completely idiopathic and it isn’t until the mind is addressed that pain finally is managed or healed. Absolutely fascinating.
Omg. U are me exactly. Therapy helps but super tough to change the way we think. We focus on he symptoms and not the cause of the anxiety I still cannot figure it out
Did anyone had ringing ear, tingling on face n head n pain like trigeminal on teeth n face and did mri came normal, anyone? One more thing if you have all above symptoms like mine , so can plain mri of 1.5 tesla without contrast can be enough or needed contrast, bcoz I heard if anything abnormal even without contrast mri can show a slight as you know contrast can be harmful too
Oh man I’m happy as hell that I have found you on here. I’ve been in a real dark place for the last almost year. The symptoms I’ve created and the stress I’ve put on my body has been insane. I’m currently doing well but I know another “terminal illness” is just around the corner. Thank you for sharing your experiences. It has truly helped me find some peace ❤️
The problem is that I don't know how to distinguish between actual illness symptoms or anxiety. Few years back I was completely normal and never thought I will be hit by mental health anxiety😢. All my symptoms are chronic dizziness, pains in body, hot flushes, digestive issues n list goes on. Wish someone can help me get back to normsl
This is the story of my life. I’ve manifested twitches, cramps, weakness, night sweats, pain, myoclonic jerks and more. The brain is so powerful and the experiences of others and myself have really made me ponder consciousness and the true nature of reality 🧠🧘♀️💭...
I watched a lot of your videos since my health anxiety symptoms came back and they are gone now. Thank you so so much, you are a true blessing to everyone who suffers from this. And if someone else reads this, I can promise you that things will get better, even when it feels impossible. I thought that I would never feel happy or healthy again, but here I am. I believe that everyone in this community will overcome this cruel anxiety!!🤍😊
@@nofacehoncho5kid396 Yes, I did. But I also got that before from time to time. It is something that many people experience, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
Thank you so much Cher. I swear I watch your videos and I just end up laughing and smiling because I feel so dumb and relieved at the same time. You and Trey Jones have been my saviors in health anxiety. Thanks again beautiful. You ROCK!!!
The fact that our brains can do this is what is causing my anxiety in the first place, like how do I even know myself and know what I actually feel like if I keep controlling myself all the time- with everything I do simply because don’t know what’s real and what’s not>
I 100% relate to this. The creation of the symptoms after reading/hearing something and then that unbelievable effect of those same symptoms literally VANISHING right after the 'all clear.'
And yes, totally agree that's it's so difficult to tell the difference between an anxiety developed symptom or something you actually need to get checked. The only way I can deal with that is relying on my partner - I have told myself that if it's worth worrying about, he will be worried too?!
The mind is very powerful. It for sure can do this. I have had back issues for a year now I think is kidney cancer. I did go to doc and they said just back problems. Anyways I still think it is kidney cancer but I have a feeling I am doing it.
What frustrates me the most is that right now I am in the brain tumor trap and I legit have all the symptoms from the headaches to the nausea to the speech and understanding problems to the dizziness! It is horrible 😢💔
@That's so cindy Sameee, i ve been horrified Ive gone to a doctor and she said i have tension headaches and that scans and stuff weren't necessary And im horiffied Sending a big tight hug ❤
i actually saw something on tv yesterday, this doctor was on this show and she actually said that headaches are NOT a symtom of a brain tumor, she said that its more neurological symtoms like a kind of pins and needles sensation on one side of your face or head.
The imagination is definitely a powerful thing which affects our bodies. Apparently it is a known "phenomena" that doctors in medical schools can develop the symptoms in their bodies of diseases that they are studying about.
So true. A girl on TikTok triggered me by talking about her symptoms of blood cancer now all of a sudden, I have itchy skin and night sweats because those were her symptoms. Ugh.
I have had myself convinced that I have a brain tumor for about a month now. I have got an mri and the radiologist said I was fine but the day after my doubts came. Did the doctor take you seriously, did he look good enough, wasn't the tumor just hidden etc. It is absolutely insane but I just feel like I am dying. I read all the symptoms of a brain tumor like confusion etc. Now I just can't remember a thing and just keep checking myself if I still understand whats happening and throw questions at myself like: what did you do yesterday, and when I can't remember, a thousand alarm bells go off in my head. It just feels like severe brain fog.
PLEASE DO NOT FEEL ALONE!!!! Everything you mentioned i delt with on the very exact thing which is thinking I had a brain tumor… I just recently stopped having what I thought were symptoms as recently as a week ago.. I went through it for about 2 months straight, and it was pure HELL !!!! I did the same thing u mentioned, I would ask myself questions or try and see if I could remember things from a long time back and if I couldn’t I would think to myself, well that confirms it, but it was actually my SEVERE HEALTH anxiety kicking into overdrive.. You are fine and God bless u
There is something called the nocebo effect which is the opposite version of the placebo effect. What you're talking about sounds a lot like that, there is definitely a mind body connection involved. I've had a lot of cystic acne recently because of the stress and anxiety I'm going through.
Also, with side effects of medications. I literally get side effects after I read about the side effects of medication on the leaflet! Im literally scared about reading stuff either regarding symptons or side effects of medications. I try to stop googling but i cant, is as if im in a constant fight within myself.
I always feel like my left arm/hand or even the whole left side is weaker when it really isn’t. I’m terrified of strokes so I think I make it up. It can be scary (especially when it first started) but I’ve had health anxiety for awhile so I’ve found ways to deal with it. I’m starting to think it’s mostly due to my poor posture lol.
Me too lol. I think it's mainly to do with nerve pain if you are sitting slouched when you're sitting or laying in a funny position it'll pinch a nerve and may not hurt but will affect sensations. Hope you're ok!
This happens to me all the time. Ive been recovering from hip and shoulder injuries. I'll feel great all day and think to myself "wow i haven't had hip pain all day!" then boom, immediately will get a pain in my hip haha. The brain is a crazy trickster.
Wow thats crazy. Your story is almost exactly the same as mine. Went for a check up, had an irregularity on an ECG, then was sent that afternoon for 2 sets of blood tests to measure my Triponin levels (heart stress hormone) which had trended up between each test, but came down later that night after i was sent to emergency. And then it was 4 months of trying to get appointments for stress tests and monitors etc, just to find out there was nothing wrong. But by that stage my health anxiety was already in high gear from the worry. But like you i had alot of chest related symptoms, and raised heart rate and palpitations etc. Once i got the all clear, 99% of that stuff went away. Im now having bowel and digestion issues and im back in the same place of not knowing what the hell is going on lol and finding it really hard to get appointments for tests, without having to wait months at a time. It's madness.
I get this every time I read the side effects of any medication. Or when I read reviews about a medication. Or when I read a case study. I read it and bang I’m experiencing it. Usually not the mild symptoms, usually the most severe and often rare symptoms. I have it now. Severe neurological symptoms because the one symptom that terrified me was nerve damage from this specific antibiotic. The symptoms are real so just as you say how do you know when real and when they are essentially generated by a very triggered anxious mind? The nocebo effect is huge with me. It’s awful because I will never take this antibiotic again yet it may be totally harmless to me. And meanwhile my feet and hands are tingling, I’ve got burning skin sensations that move about, intense itching that moves about. It’s terrifying. I’m so grateful for this channel and wish everyone dealing with this strength and healing
Thank you for your videos, they are so helpful, especially when I start going down the googling symptoms route I always find myself getting the symptoms that I read. I first started worrying about lymphoma about 6 months ago after feeling a small lump in my groin area, after googling my symptoms the night after I started to get night sweats and I started to feel itchy all the time, I was convinced I had lymphoma. I went to the doctors and she said the lymph node wasn’t swollen, another doctor told me the exact same thing and the symptoms slowly seemed to go away. Same thing happened with bone cancer, I thought my joint was swollen and saw the words bone cancer and I immediately felt the worry come over me, the next morning I wake up feeling weak and aching all over, feeling like I had to limp with the effected leg. I was so terrified of it being cancerous that I forgot to stop and think that weakness and aching are completely normal symptoms of anxiety that I get whenever it’s at it’s worst. The doctor couldn’t feel any lumps or swelling and said my leg was completely normal, then the aching that I was getting went away.
I've done all of this too. It truly is bonkers isn't it. What feels like real, chronic pain...that just vanishes when you have clinical proof that you don't have what you feared! The only problem for me at the moment is I've been on a 13 month waiting list for neurology and so my symptoms have been that long too 😫
Symptoms can be created by negative thoughts & negative emotions that triggers the sympathetic. NS and it manifests as bodily pains & other weird symptoms.
I’m exactly like this. My health anxiety started with twitching last year (still twitch now but only really when I’m anxious or thinking about it) now it’s heart problems, my partner is a covid ‘expert’ I.e he sends me every single link relating to covid and in particular I picked up on effects on the heart following covid. I had it in October, and a few weeks later I start getting or noticing palpitations, go to the dr, they do an in house ecg but manage to lose the results before I come back for them so now in a couple of days time I’m going for a 24 he monitor, this week I have developed actual chest pain. I’m thinking is it real Or is it made up in my own head. I don’t know, because like most people in here, I can’t trust my own mind! Or so it feels. I also have in the past had exactly the same with a uti too. And I too took myself off to the on call dr at the local hospital, he did a simple dip test and sent urine for microbiology (which both came back clear) but as soon as the hospital dip test came up negative and he explained to me why he thought I probably wouldn’t have a kidney infection, my symptoms disappeared within seconds literally they went.
I am feeling insane trying to determine my somatic vs real symptoms. I felt a perceived weakness on the front of my calf, subsequently felt twitching in the muscle. Before the twitching I had seen that foot drop was an initial symptom of ALS, perceived weakness left around Jan 20th but as of Jan 17th I got a tremendous amount of fasciculations in my legs/feet. This has now spread to my face and I feel it's difficult to swallow or awkward to chew. I am now super anxious about ALS but again going insane. I have objectively tested my jaw/muscle/vocal cord strength and no clinical signs. Hopefully my neuro can set me at ease in 10 days. 😭🤢
@@Anton-os5lk Still no clinical weakness. My fasciculations have continued and I've started to get cramps as well. Neurologist is testing me for voltage gated potassium channel antibodies which takes weeks to accomplish. I have had modest reductions in anxiety since no clinical weakness has presented but still quite concerned. Neurologist thinks ALS is unlikely. Thank you for checking in!
@Kevin E. Lemaster I have had whole-body fasciculations for 14 years (started when I was 20 years old) and they started after I read about ALS. I’d never had anything (except the rare eyelid flutter) before then. I still don’t have ALS. I have severe health anxiety. I’m used to the twitches now and they really don’t bother me. They do flare up when I’m going through a very anxious period. I hope this reassures you a little ❤️.
Oh my goodness I’ve definitely had this, the hard thing you just don’t know if it’s actually happening or it’s in your head. Also my whole family think I’m the boy who cried wolf. So when I do actually have something wrong with me they’re like sureee 🙄
This is so true ive had Cardiac Anxiety, Covid Anxiety, Cancer Anxiety, ALS Anxiety, Brain Tumor Anxiety, MS Anxiety, Bood Clot Anxiety, Basically all the worst things to get.🤦♂️
I had Strep throat about 2 weeks ago, it was my first time having it, my tonsils were swollen and I had pain, I went to the doctor and got antibiotics for 10 days, I went back 2 more times because I was scared that it maybe didn’t go away completely and both times I was told that I’m good, they checked my lungs, my heart, my Oxygen and everything is good. But my mind still makes me feel like I still have it, I feel completely fine then I start thinking about it and start feeling the symptoms so I drive my self crazy. I’ve always had health anxiety and it’s horrible.
YES, I absolutely agree! I think I manifested my tinnitus because I read about it online and heard my family talking about it, and low and behold, sometime later I started hearing ringing in my ears. Also, my anxiety makes ringing worse. Our mind is a powerful thing. I believe rewiring the brain to think more positively and stop being so hyperaware of body sensations is possible, it just takes time. Patience is key.
Yesterday I was reading about lupus and how it coukd cause red rash on face. Literally 30 minutes later my nose and cheeks turned bright red and itchy. That is insane 😔
If you don't consciously think about it. You forget you have a head, or a chest, or abdomen. If you think about having a head or a chest. You start to feel you head and chest. And if you are obsessed with your head, chest or abdomine, like one does during health anxiety. You are going to drive yourself crazy. Because last week you forgot you had them and this week you can't stop thinking about them.
Cherelle, I’ve suffered various frightening visual symptoms for 2 years, and despite being told numerous times by specialists that nothing is wrong the symptoms still persist. Do you have any experience of this?
My health anxiety has spiralled out of control, post menopause. The logic/non logic keeps fighting. I saw a lot of death and illness as a child. Can that be a trigger for health anxiety? Has it happened to anyone else like that?
I can't speak for death and illness as a child. But mine came from running a care home facility for 6 years. Full of illness and death and when there was a slight issue with a resident, it wasn't rarely the worst case scenario, it was always the worst case. Of course it would be, they were extremely frail and in their 90s. But it still left me with health anxiety and has ruled my life. Hope you're doing ok cath!
This is exactly what I think most of us needed confirming. I've been told many times by GPS, consultants etc how the mind really can manifest, real, pain, symptoms etc. I've had 3 months of being convinced I have throat 'C' (hate that word).. I've had many, many tests, reassurance from my GP, specialist's, it's just taking a while for my mind/brain to truly absorb what they tell me as every single day I focus on my throat, so, pain remains. It is amazing how when you 'manage' your thoughts more in a positive way, those pains/symptoms go almost overnight, I know as I've suffered Health Anxieties on and off for around 10 years now..
@@snowy-19 Hi.. I've recently been discharged from the Oral/Facial surgeon as my Xrays, tests etc have all come back clear. I'm still having pain in my mouth/throat, so even though I had that medical 'reasurance' my mind still plays these tricks. It's like Cherrelle has said in another video, it seems to take our minds a while to catch up with 'facts' so to be honest, I'm still down that rabbit hole of Health Anxieties, but trying each day to recover.
@@snowy-19 I'm the same..its sort of good to know your not alone, it helps you understand HA more, and it's comforting to see how other people feel and cope with it.. But for me, I feel I'm still left alone with the constant fear and dread.. I have tried to step back a little as I'm tired of my HA being 24/7, I'm trying so hard to do and think of other things..
I've been having eye issues from anxiety and thought to myself thank god I don't have floaters at least then bam all a sudden I have 4 of them in my face and I can't stop seeing them so I'm stressed out hard
Yeah I think that's whats happening to me...for no reason I keep feeling my heart thuds hards on my chest after every normal beats...it keeps making me feel my heart will stop...oh my God
I have this and it’s so annoying!!! It’s been a week or more and it won’t go away. Burning “electric” like shocks all over in random places. Also pins and needles in my toes and fingers and also “vibration”/ buzzing/ humming sensation in my abdomen and legs.
Yeah, burning skin happens when low on oxygen. Control your breathing and you'll get rid of it I promise. Usually happened to me when I'd wake up hyperventilating
Yesterday, I found an atypical mole on the top of my right arm. No blood, no bumps, very small, and the funny thing is that a few days ago, i read that some weird looking moles can cause melanoma. I freaked out yesterday and googled symptoms for hours but I think it's just my health anxiety generating symptoms. I just have to learn to control my health anxiety and learn to stop googling.
This is true i had pain in my shoulder and it was swollen i went to the doctor he did some test and all came fine, then i had pain in my left pelvic for 6 months and it went away as soon as i started to ignore it ,But i actually have a rare eye condition named uveitis but u know sometimes i get an attack if i think about it otherwise it's all perfect ,once i even got whole body shaking and falling down kind of symptoms i got ct scan and all i was fine . We need to clear the inner war or else it will erode u stress is very very dangerous .I hope this helps 😊
Sudden onset of twitching almost a week ago after a horrible bout of GI pain, which I catastrophized and thought I would have to hsve my appendix removed. I believe the stress that that episode caused on my body is what caused the twitches but of course I choose to catastrophize that as well. Your videos has helped me so much to calm my fears!!! As far as I know, these twitches could have been around even before the bout of GI pain and just got worse because of stress. I really really thank you, I also have lots of life stressors and should really seek therapy. I know I just need to carve the time out of my insane schedule and do it but taking time from work to do it would stress my finances. Do you have any tips regarding making the time for therapy once you realize it is a need?
I get really bad throat tightness and dizziness that makes me feel like passing out. It's a very scary feeling but i realise it goes away when my mind is very distracted. But to keep my mind distracted is a real challenge. Have you experienced throat issues?
I have experienced that and trouble swallowing years back. Look up progressive muscle relaxation and meditate if you don’t already. Sounds like you’re staying in fight or flight mode and this will keep you very tense. Practice deep breathing too! If you’re a trauma survivor work on feelings you may be holding in. Tightness in the throat... is there something you felt you couldn’t tell
@@julesflores8137 thank you. I think my body is always tense and on standby mode, even though im not actually stressed. It doesn't feel like something is stuck, more like my throat is closing up or full. And i cant burp even when i try to. It subsides only when im completely distracted. Im now trying the meditation/breathing techniques, though it's not easy.
@@maram3216 Mine was all the time during that time! Also ask yourself is there anything I feel I need to say and feel I can’t. Often symptoms are literally tied to emotions. Meditation takes time with an anxious mind. Experiment listening to different ones on you tube. I like Michelle Chalfant.
The dizziness is supposed to mean scattered thinking but can also many times be caused by how your breathing. Take deep belly breaths. See deep breathing for anxiety videos. Be mindful of breathing and practice mindfulness and grounding yourself. Journaling would help you too I think.
I'm cardiophobic and i had palpitations from last 2 years not 24/7 but my focus is more on my heart when they are gone , My drs said I'm good every test is normal... All this started from self diagnosis from dr google and that psycho that never ends and thousands of other symptoms will comes and go But i wanna say that I've accepted it and I'm recovering day by day but sometimes i go back to 0 but it's possible ❤❤ Stay hard, exercise, hydrate , don't think too much on Little things ( what to eat, drink, when to sleep etc)
I'm Victor from Spain I'm 20 years old and since I was little I have anxiety, I used to give myself in class, in restaurants, in a cinema to give some examples... well the case, it's been 2 years since I've been in this hell, on May 9, 2022 I woke up having thoughts that in my life had had of the content of hurting me, I remember that the day before I went to sleep I read a story about a boy who took his life, logic tells me that could be a possible trigger, at first I got scared because I didn't want to do that I don't even want to and I didn't know what was happening to me, I had a lot of anxiety, my chest hurt, I was short of breath, I was terrible... in the middle of that hell I thought, well, this will be a bad day and tomorrow I'll be fine, because the days were going by and it was still the same, even from the fear I had I slept even with my mother imagine... a few days after this, being in my room I missed this thought that I remember perfectly. What if I kill my mother? If after the thoughts of hurting myself it was already wrong imagine after that went through my head... literal that I couldn't even see my mother was terrible, if before I had anxiety because after thinking that I had twice as much... investigating Google I found content about intrusive thoughts and such, at that moment reading about the subject I found a phrase that helped me at that moment (you are not your thoughts) and that I literally eliminated the physical symptoms I had despite the fact that those thoughts were still there. A few days after this I went to the psychiatrist to tell him just what I'm telling in this message and he told me about impulse phobias, I went home and a few days after this in the news of Antena 3 the typical ones that give at night well, they talked about a news of a boy with schizophrenia and well what happened to me is that I literally was in shock, I didn't sleep that night, literally when I heard that it was like, I have this. I started looking for symptoms throughout the summer and a few more months, in total 4/5 months in a row day by day by Google, on RUclips videos of people with schizophrenia, videos about psychotic outbreaks, about other mental disorders and from there I'm not wrong, the following. I literally began to be aware of the sounds and for example I was watching a video on RUclips of whatever it is and if I heard something that could be outside of that video, I would go back the video to see if I listened to it again, that was an example of what I did and sometimes I continued to do it, I was aware of what I saw or if I saw things out of the ordinary, sometimes out of the corner of my eye like I see it as a flash and I scratch that you freak out in case it is a hallucination, I also read about delusions and paranoias and for Give an example, read that these people think they want to kill them and that from there I have thoughts of that style, "paranoid" thoughts although I know that they are a lie, I do not know if after everything I am telling you are finding out what happens to me or if maybe in your consultation you have had cases of this style, because in Spanish I have barely found information as if I have found it in English and they relate it to OCD called OCD Going Crazy, but literally that sometimes I doubt that this can be OCD, this seems something Serious I'm afraid that it's psychosis or schizophrenia I'm shitting I need help, it seems that I'm delirious sometimes, although I repeat I know that certain thoughts are not logical... I think that reading symptoms has fucked my head because in my life I've had these thoughts and I think I'm very suggested. 3 psychiatrists tell me that they are impulse phobias but let's go that sometimes it seems like I'm really crazy.
Had this calf thing too 😅 I have a vein on my calf that popps out and though I had no symptoms I convinced myself that it’s an early sign of a blood clot. Suddenly my whole leg felt numb, I had pain in my calf and leg, it felt exactly like the vein was hurting it was like a burning sensation and then my calf felt like it was swollen. I think it maybe is a fascia thing. They react when you’re stressed and feel tight and and start to hurt
I'd thought I could have a pituitary tumor just because a patch of dark hair grew under my chin (I'm a female, well... I also suspected ovarian cancer, it was ridiculous) and I have a bad eyesight, so yeah, my mind convinced me that a pituitary tumor could be pressing on my optic nerve. I didn't have headaches, at least not intense, to even suspect a brain tumor. And suddenly I got this intense headache I'd never had in my life. It didn't last long, but it was pretty terrifying. And I began smelling smoke until I convinced myself I couldn't really have that tumor and also got my eyes checked. My eyesight isn't deteriorating as quickly as before (I needed to get my eyesight checked anyway, but I shouldn't have suspected a pituitary tumor), which also surprised me because if there was a tumor it wouldn't make any sense. I've had bad eyesight for a long time, my chin hairs popped up pretty recently. Also, my hormone levels turned out to be normal, so that should be a consolation, right? I also felt slight pain/pressure just where my ovaries are, mainly my left one, which didn't go away until I got them checked and made sure there wasn't any tumor growing there. Oh, and my nausea was pretty stubborn until I got an abdominal ultrasound done.
I forgot to add. Apparently my chin hairs could be due to androgen sensitivity in hair follicles. Or I suspect I could have a slight hormonal imbalance that fixed itself. Anyway, it's nothing, and my sister has chin hairs too.
Burning “electric” like shocks all over in random places. Also pins and needles in my toes and fingers and “vibration”/ buzzing/ humming sensation in my abdomen and legs. It’s been a week or more and it won’t go away!!!!! I do have hashimotos though but these aren’t symptoms of it, also my b12 levels and magnesium levels are good and normal. The only thing I have that’s a little low is potassium at 3.6 but that’s still normal range. Sodium level is normal. CT scan normal. Everything else normal. Even my thyroid labs are normal right now.
I have the same symptoms!! Beat for beat!! Except the buzzing. Been feeling the pins and needles in different patches of the body, could it be our anxiety you think?
@@ChrisX236 I really hope so!!! Are you having any other symptoms? I’m having what I said above but also muscle twitch in my feet but also random spots as well. I’m honestly so scared but I have a neurology appointment on Monday so I hope they give me an EMG/MRI.
@Raquel Delclos yeah I've been having muscle twitching since last year. It's mainly on my left calf but I've felt twitching everywhere at this point, even on my butt at times.
@@ChrisX236 I just started magnesium (hasn’t really helped for me yet) but it’s only been a week or so since I started. I got my magnesium levels checked it was normal (2.1). If you’re looking to start magnesium they say magnesium Malate is the one that helps with muscles. And I’ve had muscle twitches everywhere too, even the spots you mentioned.
Been suffering with health anxiety for about 4/5 months. Currently worried about skin cancer for some reason epessically on face then all of sudden i start getting twitching on my nose, itchy face, random patches, blood spots. A month ago i wasnt worried about skin cancer and never had any of them systoms. Definitely feels like because im worring/obsessing about it im start to have them systoms. 🙄😔
I got my first uti ever a few months ago and I was so scared of it spreading to my kidneys ever since then I’ve been afraid of getting another one. Sometimes I swear I feel pains where utis usually cause pain
I Have a awful health anxiety and OCD (male 28) and I'm im the bulbar Als rabbit hole .. I read about it and after a week I have started to slurre many words, No one have heard it when they speak to me, but! I have it recorded when I do slurre, so I really are slurring my words. I also started stuttering. After the first slurre I got so hyperaware of my speech. I have never had any problems with my speech, my speech is my biggest gift in my life so when something is off with it, I know for sure something is really wrong. During this time, I also remember my tongue feeling fatigue. I do not slurre all the time it's coming and going. I’ve also developed in the last 2-3 days a scalloped tounge and burning sensation on my tounge (never had this before), fasiculations all over my body, mostly on my left buttcheek, it also feels like I have lost the coordination of my tounge and my tounge is always touching my teeth while I’m speaking, I never had braces and I have straight teeth. And today I have bit my tounge like 15 times meanwhile I'm speaking ..
So to my question, is this the bulbar onset of ALS? Because how can it be possible for me to slurre my words for 17 days with just hyperawareness and health anxiety, it should not be possible right?
Oh my god I’m in the same rabbit hole right now, just not the bulbar one… first of all, the said disease only affects %0.01 - 0.06 of the world population and I really pray that they will find a cure for it or at least a way to stop it. Having said that, it might be something else. Get it checked by a doctor. Let me tell you my story. Couple of weeks ago, I had this pain at the back of my legs. I thought it was nothing and I was just sitting wrong while playing video games and then I had the most stupid idea of all and googled it. Went to an orthopaedist who referred me to a neurologist who happens to be my father’s closest friend so I had the chance to call her and ask about it. She told me it is probably nothing but just in case she needs to see my emg. Of course, I had another stupid idea and googled “why do doctors want an emg test?” Aaaaand boom, there was it. Next day, I went to see her and specifically asked about it and she told me to get it out of my mind because everything is normal. And the next day I started twitching because I kept reading the symptoms and voila… you’re not alone.
Just been thinking about this alot lately Cherelle. I have twitching in my left foot.. its moved up my leg to internal vibrations, my leg is shaking etc.. and now I feel that my voice is slurring.. since I heard about bulbar mnd.. unbelievable. Also getting pre cramps.. do you have that?
I have had jelly legs and all kinds of stuff. My therapist told me to speak to these sensations out loud and ask them what they’re trying to tell me. My legs were literally jumping visibly in her office one day and she said ask them now what they want you to know. I did and the answer was immediate. We can’t carry all of this pain anymore. (Emotional pain) Very often the health anxiety is a sign of emotional trauma we haven’t dealt with.
TRIGGER WARNING (mentions of ALS) . . . . I’ve been having bottom lip twitches but only on the left side... so me being me I decided to google my symptom and as I started reading I fell down the ALS rabbit hole and after reading about everything on ALS like the symptoms... I started to feel the symptoms that were listed everywhere and this just started in about three days ago. The symptoms include weird feelings throughout my joints in my arms, legs, feet, and hands, small amounts of weakness in my legs, feet, and hands. Twitching through my legs, feet, arms, and my bottom lip still, I’ve also been experiencing small areas of pain, itchiness, and tingling. So if you’re experiencing anything like my symptoms please PLEASE don’t google and fall into this hardship that is Health Anxiety take it from me who would never want anyone to experience what I am experiencing.
@@ashanakhan5214 I am doing sm better… I have started therapy and talking about my feelings with my anxiety and to not catastrophize everything I feel because small little things that happen in the body are normal… another big thing I stopped doing was googling because it only added to my already not so good way of thinking.
so what should we do if we are convinced that our current symptom is not serious, nevertheless it still doesn't go away? I'm convinced that it's psychological but it still doesn't go away although I'm not so anxious. Just because I know that how it is distracting and effect me negatively, it don't go away
Hi cherelle i had the same 1st i had a panic attack i went to the doctor gave me a ekg test on my chest & told me i had anixty . Told me 2 go back if it got worst & i been having new symptoems all the time & saying im really having a heart attack & now i been getting pain on mu back all over my side even on my rib pain thinking i have kidney problem. H even front in my kidney side & all over .
I always wondered if I can manifest symptoms to such a real degree why doesn't it also work when I read about good and calming stuff and happiness and peace like why does my mind not manifest these feelings? or maybe it can and I just need to actually start consuming wholesome content
Has anyone been in the sepsis trap? I’ve been put on antibiotics for a “ UTI” because I had leukocytes in my urine, now I’ve got severe back pain all over and stomach went back to the GP and he’s said it’s not even a UTI let alone kidney infection but I don’t believe it and I’m paranoid I’m going to get sepsis🥴🥴
What is the longest you have experienced an anxiety symptom? I’ve been having burning/painful knees/joints off and on for about a year barely get a break in between. What I found interesting was that I went to ER had X-ray done and ultrasound for clots and they found nothing. They told me to put ice on them. It went away for about 5 months now came back 😢I think it’s anxiety related because when I’m distracted or have other serious issues going on I don’t feel it much. Although sometimes it hurts soooo bad it makes me nauseous. 😢
The other day I came across someone having sleep apnea so I started reading about it and BAM that night I couldn't sleep peacefully cz I was feeling like I couldn't breathe when I'm falling asleep and waking up with jerks. It's so weird 😕
I am in the leukemia trap because i have random bruises popping up on my legs out of nowhere. i had a single bruise then started panicking and convinced myself i have leukemia so i just have more bruises than normal but literally about almost two months ago i got a complete blood test of my white blood cells, red blood cells, and all that good stuff and everything was perfectly okay. so i can’t tell if these bruises are harmless or they’re actually me dying (btw no leukemia cancer runs in my family) idk if it’s my brain somehow causing bruises

Can I ask please did you ever have throat issues. I have been to an ENT Doctor a year ago who ruled out anything suspicious but I am still left with these globus syndrome feelings but also for the past couple of weeks I have been getting like crawling sensations in my neck, could this be linked to anxiety too. I have had these throat issues it seems about 5 months after my mum died but this is now 2 years ago. I am imagining allsorts.
I had a call with the doctor about numbness and tingling. He asked me if i had any family hisotry of ms (which is ome of the things i worry about) then asked if im experiencing dizziness. I said no, and instantly, as i hung up the phone, I've been dizzy, for two weeks. WTF?!
Can you talk about floaters again? I saw your previous video and trying not to be stressed by this. I am now paranoid about going out side or any bright light or screen because I dont want to see them. Also stressed about retinal tears even though the eye doctor said my retinas are fine.
If your eye doctor said ur eyes are fine its probably nothing dangerous. Im writing this here as a relief to you, not to scare you. Visual snow is a onset symptom without any real dangers that can come as an early adult. It involved floater and static vision. No known causes and NO progression to blindness(one suspected cause is STRESS and ANXIETY). Maybe its that? But seriously if you had anything wrong with your eyes, your eye doctor would see it and direct you to a physician.
Can you do a video on feeling unbalanced I had a panic attack went dizzy when sitting down and no when I'm sat down or looking down I feel off balance iv been to doctors and they started looking at me like I'm nuts I have a headache with it iv been confused and it's all day I don't no how to break this in my head anyone else suffer from unbalanced I started thinking I'm going crazy and getting very down feel so alone right now .
Its called brain fog and happens quite often after a panic attack. A feeling of dizziness, unbalance and generally lethargic. Your body releases so much adrenaline during a panic attack that your body needs to rebalance. Also bear in mind the muscle tension in your back and head will play a part in this
Yes , I’m 19 and had the same thing happen to me when I think I had an attack of vertigo and thought I was about to pass out and at the same time felt a tingly feeling on the left side of my head and I felt dizzy and like headache feeling (also rarely get headaches )so we went to the doctor but they told me It’s just stress or anxiety and sent me home so I think that got me more worried bc now I thought they didn’t take me serious and I had headaches for 5 days in a row, neck was stiff prbbly from all the tension and stress , so I went to the er bc I had not gotten better and I was feeling worse like I have a tumor or aneurysm so we had gone and told them my symptoms and they did a ct scan w contrast on me and blood work and everything came back normal , then after the ct scan I started to feel better like the headaches weren’t as bad and I was more chilled but I started to get muscle spasms in my neck and random parts of my body and at night would get headaches again but I think it’s jst my health anxiety, it’s been almost 2 months and I feel way better as if it’s wearing off but I get random pains in my head and hear ringing in my ears especially at night , but no more headaches , honestly I think it’s jst me having been so scared/ worried so I’m trying to jst keep my mind busy or watch funny videos
Yes, dizziness and feeling unbalanced is real with anxiety , it’s because I’m aware of my body too much and every step I take “I’m probably going to feel unbalanced” and focusing on my steps and sure enough that exactly what happens ...anxiety is real
Hello I get chest pains and left side temple pain constantly or think it's there not sure. Body plays tricks . But I have a fear of death which tips off my anxiety. I don't know what to do anymore.
I don't feel my body it's all numb and weightless and I feel near fainting and exhausted I try to walk I'm super woozy and feel sunken into the floor been to every specialist doctor er visits possible and everything is okay and it's panic but I can't believe it :(
@@franccci thank you for the response. I’ve been so stressed out for weeks because of it and now I think I’m just subconsciously anxious all the time. I even broke out with a huge rash
@@raqueldelclos I can relate your story because I had the same symptoms (my left foot would tremble all the time and my hands were always shaking, I had blurry vision in one eye, headaches and other stuff I can't remember) Of course, I was imaging the worse (that I have some autoimmune disease) so I went to the hospital and did loads of tests and waited a while month for the results. All that time I was experiencing the symptoms and I convinced myself I definitely have MS. After my results came back clear, I COMPLETELY stopped having those symptoms. Well, my leg still trembles sometimes and my hands get shaky from time to time but I have have to remind myself that it's anxiety, nothing else. I found out I sometimes process my anxiety without even knowing I'm anxious (subconsciously) so it's really likely that it's the same case for you. Don't always belive your feelings.
@@franccci I got an MRI AND EMG and they both came back with normal results! I’m still twitching though and my left calf is still vibrating /trembling . 😢 it’s been 5 days since I found out the good news so I thought it’d be gone by now since I feel more calm. I was also having phantom rain drop sensation but that has been coming and going. Also slight blurry vision. How long did it take for your symptoms to go away?
@@raqueldelclos I read somewhere on a health anxiety forum that it's actually pretty normal for people with health anxiety (after they get all the tests clear) to experience similar or the exact symptoms they had before they got a result. That happens because your body goes into anxiety mode (that's when you have symptoms such as trembling, phantom pain, blurred vision, heart palpitations and all sorts of strange sensations on the body). It might take some time for your body to calm itself down. It's been more than a month since I got my MRI scans and other tests clear and I STILL experience a lot of strange sensations (such as hand trembling, headaches, pin, and needle-like sensations, and so on). Because I continued to be anxious I even got eye floaters and tinnitus. All of this is stuff is connected with anxiety and stress. Even though it took me a week or so to get used to the sounds in my ear, I'm doing fine now It's important that you lower your stress levels and start worrying less. YOU HAVE TO Start meditating and exercising. You'll see, you'll feel a lot less anxious and better in general It's important to tell yourself that all these symptoms you experience are NOT SERIOUS and that they will pass too. Basically, to answer your question, it might take some time for all that stuff to subside. (a few months, but you have to work on your anxiety managment) You will be okay :)
This is unlikely, however your body can react as if you've got the illness because you're brain is telling the nerves in that area that somethings wrong. The muscles around the nerve react, tense up and all of a sudden you're feeling so bad and convince yourself it's real. But the brain can't create disease. Control anxiety, control the symptoms. It's hard sometimes to accept that it is the anxiety doing it, but a lot of work is now going into looking at the connection between the mind and how it controls things. Pain at the end of the day is just a message relayed back to the brain, so why can't the brain get the wrong signal from time to time. It would still feel real
@@cherellethinks haha thank you for liking. I think to be able to relate to how someone feels is the best cure for health anxiety. Doctors don't help much and at the end of the day people just need an arm around them and to be understood. And that's why what you do is amazing. Yourself and Trey put things out there that people can watch and say "that's me too". It's like visual medicine. Hope you're doing OK anyway 👍
Can you have swollen nodes under your arm that are "shotty"? I was sent to breast clinic and had all nodes scanned and nothing there... No lumps no nodes nothing. Dr says all normal but the nodes may well be just palpable and not to worry. 🤤 I can feel one side armpit nodes and not the other so can they. So now I am worried they havent scanned me right...

Omg this is me. "It's my fault".
You've spoken my very own truth, here. Every word. The self loathing seems ATTACHED to all of this, including the idea that I don't deserve good health anymore. Terrible.
That to a tee. Well put. You’re not alone. Now I know I’m not either. Thank you!
We focus on he symptoms and not the cause of the anxiety
I still cannot figure it out
Im suffering from this too!! :( Its controlls my life literally...

Your mind creating symptoms is insane. Just goes to show, how powerful the mind is and what we're capable of manifesting etc.
Your videos are the only thing that calms me down at the moment! Thank you 🩷
The mind is very powerful. It for sure can do this. I have had back issues for a year now I think is kidney cancer. I did go to doc and they said just back problems. Anyways I still think it is kidney cancer but I have a feeling I am doing it.
Same here! I’m still trying but working out my back muscles is helping me a lot

i actually saw something on tv yesterday, this doctor was on this show and she actually said that headaches are NOT a symtom of a brain tumor, she said that its more neurological symtoms like a kind of pins and needles sensation on one side of your face or head.

Yeah my right side feel weak so I thought I have brain tumor and now am scared I don't what to do
This happens to me all the time.
The power of suggestion. It happens to me all the time. I also suffer from anxiety.
The only problem for me at the moment is I've been on a 13 month waiting list for neurology and so my symptoms have been that long too 😫
I’ve been on a waitlist too and it’s so annoying it just makes me even more anxious!!!! I feel like it should not be this hard to get an appointment
How r u now
Symptoms can be created by negative thoughts & negative emotions that triggers the sympathetic. NS and it manifests as bodily pains & other weird symptoms.
Sorry to ask
How does the process occur
I’m exactly like this. My health anxiety started with twitching last year (still twitch now but only really when I’m anxious or thinking about it) now it’s heart problems, my partner is a covid ‘expert’ I.e he sends me every single link relating to covid and in particular I picked up on effects on the heart following covid. I had it in October, and a few weeks later I start getting or noticing palpitations, go to the dr, they do an in house ecg but manage to lose the results before I come back for them so now in a couple of days time I’m going for a 24 he monitor, this week I have developed actual chest pain. I’m thinking is it real
Or is it made up in my own head.
How did it go my friend?

If you don't consciously think about it. You forget you have a head, or a chest, or abdomen. If you think about having a head or a chest. You start to feel you head and chest.
Full of illness and death and when there was a slight issue with a resident, it wasn't rarely the worst case scenario, it was always the worst case. convinced I have throat 'C' (hate that word)..
Hey! How r u doing now...please tell me I also have trapped myself in this rabbit hole..😭

Anyone have this burning skin from anxiety pins and needle and stuff

Like Dr. Joe Dispenza says, if your thoughts can make you sick your thoughts can make you well!
Do you have any tips regarding making the time for therapy once you realize it is a need?
you should make a discord server!!!

Also left side neck stifnees with left arm pain
Dealing with this and convinced it’s a brain tumor. 4 doctors won’t even do a scan because they say it’s tension
Yeah every time
@@julesflores8137 thank you.

Stay hard, exercise, hydrate , don't think too much on Little things ( what to eat, drink, when to sleep etc)
Thank you soooo much for sharing this!
I watched one of your videos on eye floaters and ended up seeing them 24 hours and now they are insane. The body is nuts
Glad to hear all is well! I watched one of your videos saying you were in recovery? How long have you been in recovery now??

Same i m getting symptoms and my blood test was normal 🙃

So me im in this state of fear with strokes now as im getting ocular migraines 😫

Its called brain fog and happens quite often after a panic attack. A feeling of dizziness, unbalance and generally lethargic. Your body releases so much adrenaline during a panic attack that your body needs to rebalance. Also bear in mind the muscle tension in your back and head will play a part in this

@@raqueldelclos I can relate your story because I had the same symptoms (my left foot would tremble all the time and my hands were always shaking, I had blurry vision in one eye, headaches and other stuff I can't remember)
Of course, I was imaging the worse (that I have some autoimmune disease) so I went to the hospital and did loads of tests and waited a while month for the results.
Even though it took me a week or so to get used to the sounds in my ear, I'm doing fine now
It's important that you lower your stress levels and start worrying less. YOU HAVE TO
Start meditating and exercising. You'll see, you'll feel a lot less anxious and better in general
It's important to tell yourself that all these symptoms you experience are NOT SERIOUS and that they will pass too.
Basically, to answer your question, it might take some time for all that stuff to subside. (a few months, but you have to work on your anxiety managment)
You will be okay :)
Do you think your body can manifest the actual disease/illness? That's what worries me!
Worried about this as well
This is unlikely, however your body can react as if you've got the illness because you're brain is telling the nerves in that area that somethings wrong.
