I got 10+ hours of SOT. I was blown away by the optimisation. Gaming is super smooth. I played call of duty for 2 hours and it handled it superbly, no overheating. I played efootball(PES) for 1+ hour on high graphics and 60fps, I was surprised to see it only consumed 5% battery. And all this while the refresh rate is at 144hz. Moto display is better than Samsung's AOD. You can do all the tasks from there itself. Reply, mark as read, dismiss everything. I have a Samsung phone but this device surprised me in every way.

Decided to go with this beast phone after your short unboxing and review part and now I must say it's battery life and charging part is INSANE also this phone doesn't heat up like other brands phones (totally not at all). I'm very much into OTT content and while watching AMBULANCE movie on prime it's video and colour quality crossed my expectations. MOTO UI is totally clean and come with its own benefits and I didn't feel any disappointment switching from OnePlus UI. Camera is also do very good job but don't expect much more like pixel but it won't disappoint you also in terms of quality camera clicks 💯
No Samsung S22 user talk about Gen 1 processor how mundane job it does totally generic processor but SD 8+ Gen 1 processor is next level I repeat Next level processor.
This was my best decision to buy this phone under 50k range.

was comfused about motorola, but bought g82 recently and i am surely satisfied with the phone. love everything about it.
I still remember those days in 2014 when I was using Nokia button phone and most of the time in a day watching your Samsung S4 , Nokia Lumia , Sony phones review's on my pc and thinking yes one day I will buy a android phone Today in 2022 I am using an oneplus Phone and still watching your vedios .. Watching this review on my moto edge 30 ultra been using this device for 1 month upgraded from ROG 3 and I can say it is a gem of a device main thing I love about this device is screen quality and if you shoot video from some other 3rd party app, that resolves the issue of over saturation as well.
@Jeevanandham K of course if your priority is video shooting you should go for any other device, for me it was day to day usage and some medium gaming and it is working perfectly for that purpose.

Screen brightness blinding you in dark environment if a white page comes on screen
Screen brightness going to zero if kept in pocket
Lack of accidental touch prevention when in pocket. Easy butt dialing and random crap happening due to this
Auto refresh mode locks screen at 90Hz and wont go above that 99% of the time. ( haven't found a scenario where it did)
To all the owners : You can actually go even dimmer with the display. There is an option as well as notification panel toggle for it. Its called "Extra Dim" and is configurable. You configure how much the minimum brightness should be. A GREAT FEATURE.
STOCK android won't have this

2 Things to note:
The video footage is recorded in Rec.2020 colorspace, I think. When you override it to Rec.709 colorspace, it should fix the oversaturation.
Secondly, its not a 2x telephoto lens. It's a 2x PORTRAIT lens, with a widest f1.6 aperture, for great natural background blur, even without the portrait mode.

Those battery life numbers you're getting is pretty much identical what I can get out of my Fold 4 as well. 8+Gen 1 is pretty awesome.

I have been using the Edge 30 Ultra for a month or so. It's pretty amazing. But there is a particular issue with my device, where if the wifi is ON, the call does not connect straight away and also the phone restarts abruptly if in this situation I put it to airplane mode and back.
Another great thing is, this phone is very light weight. It's very easy to carry along when you go out on a run or on a walk. I also own an iPhone 13 pro and my friend has a S 22 Ultra. But both devices are pretty heavy. I am impressed with this under dog device. It's a bang for the bucks at this price. Waiting for the Android 13 update now.

Also if you do not have a proper Apple ecosystem, then don't go for an iPhone. Also everything on the iPhone is expensive, from repairs to accessories.
I have both the iPhone 13 pro and this new Edge 30 ultra. I am quite satisfied with edge 30 ultra and my experience is quite good until now. If you compare its camera with flagship quality it definitely needs some improvement, but then your option of iPhone 13 is not the best either with no wide angle.
Primary requirements include gaming battery camera and software..
@@rohitshine3975 I don't game so I won't comment on that. The battery is very very good. Plus with 125w charging it charges in 15 mins or so. The camera is quite decent too.
Hi, I just have one question.
How's good is it's display since it is only a 1080p panel unlike realme gt 2 pro which has 2k display. Since u seems to have experience with high end phones like iPhone and s22, what's ur opinion on the quality, colours of the display
Have been using the phone for a week. Undoubtedly a good phone but had the display flickering after playing a 4k video and opening the camera simultaneously. Despite clearing the RAM flickering continued. Had to restart the phone to bring it to normalcy.
Also the phone heats up while using the camera, playing heavy games.
Also while listening to music through Bluetooth there are tiny breaks in the music (not seamless), say 3 to 4 breaks per song.
Though the issues are minor i am afraid they amplify in long term use.

B.T.W i do appreciate that moto has used pd charging technology with 125w support (it's more worthy compared to self brand proprietary charging technology) also not to forget they have bundled the charger in the box unlike other leading brands .
I am using Moto Edge 30 fusion now for past 2 weeks. so if you can do a full review on that also,to hear your experience on that. And regarding software updates on edge 30 fusion Moto should have given atleast 3 years of update. And Cameras are not all worth for 40k think so they should improve it. And battery life is decent for normal day to day usage, I am getting SOT between 5 to 6 hrs is it what you are getting? Anyone could share your experience, if you are using edge 30 fusion. I have mentioned only cons and pros are best display, clean ui, chipset optimisation was good, so no heating issues, it get's warm only charging.
I am already looking forward to moto edge 40 ultra even if they priced it to 80k and given all the flagship experience from all corners that will be worth it

@@AnalogFoundry gen 2 phones will be relese at the end of 2022 so if history repeats we will have gen 3 next year or so around same time , afterall moto edge 40 gonna release with 8 gen 2 so i highly doubt they are going to use that chip for their premium phones

One thing I like to point out sir, the always on display motorola has is the one of the best in the industry , I am using a moto edge (the first ever edge series motorola delivered, US variant) it does has its own type of always on display which only wakes the screen when we receive a notification and this is far better than another smartphone which always have a display on draining battery and resulting in screen burning.
By using this kind of always on display, motorola is saving battery as well as screen burning and its highly interactive.
So.. I can go with motorola's kind of always on display any day rather than any other smartphone.

How close does it get in terms of camera when compared to S22+? I love S22+ in terms of camera but everything else on it sucks.
Using edge 30 fusion . I am amazed by the battery life even in 888+ processor which is not a good optmized processor stilll the Software /UI handles 888+ processor very nicely. Near about 7 hours of SOT... Very well done. I am just waiting for MYUX 4.0 version.. if that comes it will beat oxygen os Customizations too...

Recently moto did an thorough Screen Tone Survey with the Edge 30 ultra users (Yes I also precepted in that). I guess they are taking notes from real users what kind of skin tone they prefer. It might get fixed in future OTA update. Another thing is still photos are pretty bland (flat tone but they are damn sharp). Not color popping social media ready like Samsung or apple. But that's kinda good at least for me, as I prefer flatter camera profile. So I get the ample amount of head space to work on post processing manually on Snapseed or light room. But not many people out there prefer or has time for that.
P.S. - the auto 50MP mode is a genius feature added by moto and I think all the other makers should follow it, SOT I'm getting is around 9-11hr... Overall after using 4 OP flagships I'm happy that I picked this one as it's giving me the feeling of old OG OP.

@@SKatMH Now phone discharging more power in idle mode. I am not sure if it's because of the update or 5G. Anyway it's still a battery king. Can easily cruise through 1.5 Days.

Don't you think, sir? Since the majority of modern devices support 90/120/144 Hz refresh rates, game developers must focus on creating high refresh rate 120/144 hz games too.
What's the point of having high refresh rate screens when apps and the majority of games only operate at 60 hertz, and only this high refresh rate is compatible with mobile scrolling?
Please create a video addressing this issue to encourage game and app developers to produce high-refresh.
One more thing: Despite a few firms, like Motorola and ASUS, offering 144 Hz, do you think the market is oversaturated with 120 Hz phones?
Manufacturers could increase the frequency from 120 to 144 or even 165 hz, which sounds excellent.

Hi Ranjit. The camera video issue is very disappointing. But I am using Gcam now. I'm getting better autofocus and better colours. Apart from this, the experience has been very satisfying.

I wanted to ask you between 'Pixel 7 pro and 14 pro max' which one should i pick?
I want great camera (both video and stills) and great battery life. I watched your pixel 6a review and bought it and I got more than I expected (be it the camera , haptics or overall experience) which makes me very happy. But the video quality and battery life is very less for my use. Also it heats up occasionally and the detail in camera is mising, especially in landscapes and video.
So, should I go for iphone or save the cash and buy Pixel 7pro?

I have a 30 Ultra, a very good phone for battery backup, near stock android, fast charging and quiet ergonomic dimensions.
The biggest problem is that Motorola hasn't updated the phone to Android 13! And also security patch are in late... After sales Motorola's support is totally inadequate. So I suggest not to buy any Motorola's devices, until they will provide a decent products support.

I was so confused between this and the Pixel 7 and after a lot of consideration chose pixel for it's look and IP68 rating because of my kids.
Ranjit, i have bought it lol, liked the purchase anyway. Its far better from others. Never liked samsung in this price range
