(I somehow omitted the fact you can individually address lighting within the 8 pre-defined colors. This is a thing, you can do that :) ).
Solid pre-implanted option only gives you 5, so painfully you will have to address every key for the color you are looking for using FN+~ and then holding FN and using ► and ◄ to cycle through. If I had my thinking cap on...this would have been smert-ef-meh to put in the video. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The original semi-DIY by Redragon was the K557. It had an impressive ability to replace various switches with other Outemu flavors assuming you wanted to shell out extra for new switches.
The K557 changed and a lot of comments rolled in about people breaking their keyboards trying to swap switches. Turns out they started soldering the K557 switches to the PCB and still included the tools and assumption that you could swap switches (oops).
The K580 corrects for this by being the 'newer' semi-DIY Redragon keyboard. It's a solid addition to the Redragon family in my book for the 50-60 USD price range.

Using this keyboard with brown keys at work and the Tecware Phantom 104 with blue keys at home. Both are excellent keyboards in my opinion and "no brainers" for the money. Much less than half the price of retail name-brand products from Logitec and the like. I draft a lot of contracts at work and find my typing accuracy greatly improved.

You're the only RUclipsr who actually bothered to show a clear close-up of the switch being pulled so that I could make sure I was doing it correctly after it wouldn't budge at first! Thank you!
(Side note: I had to pull a switch because the Shift key became unreliable after just about a year of use... blegh)

As a HUGE mechanical keyboard enthusiast, I'm SOOOO pleased with this keyboard. LOVE the full metal heft and the brown switches are so satisfying and delicious. The volume/light wheel is the thing which puts this over the top for me. Very responsive and allow immediate adjustment of volume and keyboard brightness. Don't need a 104 keyboard layout, but I'm happily over that for all the other amazing features. How can you not own this?

I just bought one of these as my first Mechanical Keyboard ever, just wanted to give an update. The one I bought the Vata K580RGB, Wired, Brown Switches, Black... What a name, came with 8 additional brown switches but did not include the other types to test out. I purchased it from Amazon 03/11/2024 and it was delivered by Amazon 03/11/2024 wow. I'm warming up to it, it's a little louder than I had expected coming from a 'Silent' Membrane one, but it has a pingy'ness to a few keys that's driving me nuts. Like a little echo coming especially out of the lower letters just above the space bar.

Welcome back, tingly. It would be nifty if you could set this to run through random pattern modes whenever your machine sleeps or you lock it. Then return to whatever mode you had set previously when you woke or unlocked it. Or maybe have a #999 stand to lean it against while you were watching a flick and eating doughnuts. Looking at you, #apple.

I cant stand the colors! I don't want keys that dance around all the time, and when I set the keys to "custom" static colors, they will lose their settings if I have a sudden power issue (reboot) or bluescreen.

Nice review!! But i have some questions if you can help me... I'm looking for a hot swappable keyboard, so that I can replace a broken switch with another (take one from the keypad for example). Is this keyboard the best choice? I don't care about wrist rest or media keys. Ok I like the volume wheel, but it's not a deal breaker if it doesn't have. Also, I don't want a tkl keyboard, I prefer blue switches and I like the rgb spec. I have found this keyboard at 60€. I want to spend around 40-70€ max! Oh, and I would like it to be watersplash-proof! So, is it the best choice for me, or is there something better or cheaper for what I ask? Thanks in advance! ^_^

@@EightSixMatt Thanks for your reply! ^_^ Ok, but are their keyboards trustworthy? I have seen some comments about not taking out the switches with ease, or not working properly. Comparing to the motospeed ck-104, is it the same quality, better, or worse?

This Keyboard is almost good. It has some stupid flaws. its software is very primitive and almost useless. It has no keys to switch profiles and 5 macro switches are simply not enough, but it has redundent keys like Fn+F5 to F8 to control media, while it also has media controls. If you want to change profiles, you need to open the software from the tray icon and then manually click on it. WHY???? Also the scroll wheel and media keys are not programmable, which would make this keyboard 10 times better if that was the case. It's good for its price, but in no way it replaces professional grade keyboards.
