Idols and the Living God Jer 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Shalom
Love this idea, thank you so much for sharing. Just a side note, 8 fluid ounces of water is one cup, measuring in volume. 8 weighed ounces measuring mass... so you're 9 oz of oil to 2 oz of wax is a 1 to 4.5 ratio 🙂
Good morning Heather. That is an excellent idea for Christmas gifts. That salve looks amazing. That salve with the little pieces of flower and some fragrance of the flowers you have in their would be so awesome. Such a good idea. Blessings to you and yours. 😍
What wonderful Christmas gifts!! I have quite a bit of beeswax & I'm eager to try this. Wish I'd saved some Plantain leaves before it froze here, but I'm pretty sure I still have som elderberry blossoms infusing. Thank you so much Heather! God bless!
What an awesome gift!!! I am all about gifts that are useful and your salve would be great for the whole family!!! It isn't a gift idea, but have you ever made applesauce ornaments with your kids during the holidays? The recipe is super simple, just equal parts applesauce and cinnamon. Tweeking the amounts until much the consistency of bread or biscuit dough. Use a little cinnamon on the counter as you would flour to prevent sticking to the surface. Cut with cookie cutters and use a straw or other small items to poke a hole for the string. I usually just air dry my shapes and turn them once or twice each day. They can be baked at a low temperature in the oven for quicker drying. Thanks for another great video and stay safe!!
What a neat gift idea! I usually like to make a quart of boiled custard for the grandmothers in our families. I haven’t quite perfected the process but the product is really good!
BIG 👏👏👏 I've been looking, looking, LOOKING at Salve vids and yours is ONE OF THE very BEST ☺️ My oil strained out (comfrey and plantain) to 2 cups, aswell, so I'm following your process 😉 How deep was the water you placed it in (just around the base/bottom? Up near the top? Etc) Thanks for the great tips (especially about WEIGHT vs. VOLUME) and presentation!
You can't dilute beeswax with water, it won't work because beeswax functions more like an oil and oil and water don't mix. You'd need some kind of oil to infuse herbs into.
Please share your budget-friendly holiday gift ideas in the comments section!! Thanks so much for being here!

What a great idea! Most people love a gift from a loved one’s home. ❤
They sure do! ♥
So excited! Salve is the bandaid cure for little boo-boos in our house.
Same but it actually does something too where a bandaid seems to be placebo lol

When melting the wax in the double boiler I put about an inch of water in the bottom of the pot! Great question!! Thanks for watching!!
does is make a difference whether you use fresh or dried plantain leaves? Thank you for this video, it's exactly what I've been looking for.
Dried will work just as well!
I love making salve and I love those jars!!! What size jars are those I’d like to buy some for my salves.
These are the quarter pint/ 4oz jars from Ball!! They are SO perfect for salves!!
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing 😊
You're so welcome!! Thanks for watching!
What is the plantain good for ?
Bug bites, burns, cuts and scrapes :)
Do u have the ratio for herbal oil infused with beeswax? General measurement for making herbal salve. Looking forward for ur respond. Tq in advance
It depends on how much oil you start with and how firm you want the end product. We do a 5 part oil to 1 part beeswax!
You said not to clean the knife in the sink. Where do you clean your items then?
Out in the driveway. I pour a boiling kettle over the stuff with beeswax on it
@@SageandStoneHomesteadok, thank you.
What is your oil of choice?
For salves I like Olive Oil :)
How much plantain did you use?
What I'll do is fill a jar with the herb and top off with oil. I don't cram it tight but it's not super loosely packed either. Let it sit 5-6 weeks.
@@SageandStoneHomesteadthank you!
I hear that beeswax is troublesome to clean. 😬 The hot water tip should be handy when I attempt to make a salve for the first time. 🔥💧
Yes it's impossible to get off without very very hot water!!
@@SageandStoneHomestead You also said not to pour it down the sink, so what would you do after you have heated it?
I pour it outside in the driveway!
What if we can't use olive oil or coconut oil for the chamomile ?
Is there a recipe for chamomile tea and beeswax by itself ??
You can't dilute beeswax with water, it won't work because beeswax functions more like an oil and oil and water don't mix. You'd need some kind of oil to infuse herbs into.
Isn't this satisfying?
So much so!!!
What exactly is plantain?
It's an herb that is really common in yards. It's got a flat but ribbed leaf shape with a vertical stem of seeds.
@@mirswood18 My first love of weeds 🥰
