Been beyond useful boss. been dieting like mad trying to get to the point where i can get into the air force. Went all the way from 335 to 267. still struggling with exercise but I'm sure i can push through it. hopefully i can enlist before the end of the year!
I'm just finishing my associates degree before I enlist In able for me to be qualified as a E3 one thing why I'll join the air Force it's because of my dad cause he's a retired air Force and I'm following he's footsteps and I'm really excited
I'd add real estate as a 10/10. I'm a realtor now in the Montgomery, AL area and I'm joining the Air Force active duty soon. I'm just waiting for my ship date to BMT. I'm going to keep doing real estate on the side while working in the Air Force. There's start-up costs involved (~$500-900 for licensing depending on your state) and costs to keep doing it (~$900/year to keep your license and MLS membership) but you'll make way more than that easily. You can also usually just get a reciprocal license when you PCS. (Meaning you can just move your license to another state). Then the ball keeps rolling!
I did real estate as well while serving. I just found providing my clients a steady schedule, and being available for communication all the time was hard. But the pay was great.
@@Jodywithawhy it's hard for sure. Most people seem to understand if you let them know you're serving active duty and will largely only be available on night and weekends (at least from what I've experienced. I've already begun to tell me clients that I have limited availability as I'm moving real estate from full time to part time.) Depending on what part of the country you're in, people will love to support a member of the armed forces. You can also really market yourself ad the go-to agent for Air Force members that are moving to your area. It takes a lot of work, but even dedicating limited time produces a lot of income.
@@Jodywithawhy I actually partially decided to join the Air Force because of being a realtor. I've had a lot of clients that were military and were moving to or from Maxwell AFB here in Montgomery. I talked with them a lot, and as my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world last week, I wanted to make sure I provided a good future to her and our other future children. All of my Air Force clients love serving and are doing really well. It made it evident that the Air Force was the best path for me.

The Air Force will definitely pay you enough for the necessities in life, and with good budgeting you can save up money for your future. But if you want extra money to have other things in life, an extra income would really help.
Hey question I told my Air Force recruiter about my credit card debt situation from a different situation. Is there a waiver I have to do. I know he was mentioning there is a credit card profile
Hi Jody! So I’m at the DLI for my tech school currently and I don’t start CPCs for another 2 weeks, and don’t start class for another 3. Do you know if it’s possible to change my career if I desired? Is it worth bringing to my MTL about?
I'm a content creator and I'm joining the air force. Trying to decide between active duty or guard/ reserve. If I went active could I take jobs out of the local area if I got approval from the command like over 4 day weekends or if the shop is closed any way (my friend is in a shop that's open as few as 2 days a week. He has lots of weeks with 5 days off), or would I have to be on leave? (Like if i was stationed in California and there was something for 4 nights in NYC)
I’m joining the Air Force but I work as a pool boy and thought about renting or buying equipment to start my business when I go to my duty station. Would they allow me to keep a rental truck and equipment on base or would something like that be a case by case basis?
hello Jody. I just wanna know "Can you join the air force with the foreign high school diploma." If so, what is the process and how are things? I'd be so grateful if you make a video about this.
I’ve made a video about it. At some point in this video I explain what to do about education. Hope it helps. ruclips.net/video/Rar4xlJH0JI/видео.htmlsi=_Zo-O5eLPVLXHRms
Hey Jody, I got a question for you. Can you take the PICAT if you've already taken the ASVAB? A few days ago I spoke with my recruiter and told him I'd like to retake my ASVAB, but what he said was a bit strange. He told me I could take the PICAT in his office at our next appointment. I've always heard that people who have taken the ASVAB previously cannot do that, and I'm concerned that there could be negative repercussions if I take the PICAT as he recommends.
No. You are not allowed to take a PUCAT after you’ve taken an ASVAB. Your recruiter may get you access to a test, but you wouldn’t be able to use those scores officially.
As a trans person I've been seriously debating enlisting as my birth sex instead of waiting... but idk if I could go through BMT *plus* 180 days. But the 18 month requirement is so strict and that's 18 months HRT plus 18 months after surgeries (regardless of recovery timeframe)
I don’t know if enlisting as your birth sex would expedite anything if you’ve already started the process as trans. Cause that would require a whole different birth certificate, and if you’ve had multiple birth certificates that may raise questions. I’m not sure though, because this isn’t a common example, but I’d recommend talking with a recruiter to see what they think.
Hey Jody, I’ve been looking into joining the Air Force, but I think I came across an issue, and the issue is that I have an allergy to tree nuts and have an epipen. Does this auto disqualify me?
It depends on the severity. Like if your allergy can kill you or cause severe respiratory issues, you’d most likely be disqualified. But if it only cause hives and itching, you have a better chance.
@@Jodywithawhy Well thank you for getting back to me in such a timely manner, I have not had a full reaction before, but the epipen is because my reaction can be lethal. Again thank you for getting back to me quickly but unfortunately I might not be able to join the Air Force because of this.
@jodywithawhy I leave may 14 and my recruiter gave me a challenge coin for being his first to go. Which fired me up but I was wondering if that’s common practice?
It’s something some recruiters practice. Usually they’ll give one to their first and last applicant. Some do more than others, and some don’t do it at all. Sounds like your recruiter cares.
Im a 1st year college student i wanna join any branch this summer that will help me the most in the future with money, housing, and basically not make it seem like it was for nothing which branch should I join
Hey i have a question so i have 12 jobs on my list of jobs i wanted to do and sf was one of the jobs and that job has a lot of slots open but every other job had little to no chances of me getting in and i put sf second to last so what are my chances of getting sf compared to every other job?I leave for basic july 22
Very high. Most likely you’ll get security forces. Remember the Air Force is trying to match you to a job that’s available which you said you’re willing to do. Security Forces is the largest career field and has the most available slots, so when people list it, the chances are always high no matter the placement. I hope that helps.
Hi jody I am currently in Pakistan I am 21 my step dad is us citizen and my mom Green card holder this December immigrant visa then I got my card can I join us air force I have associated degree yesterday day I call my mom she send my asvab test preparation book's Kaplan 2025 can I be pilot in us air force plz guide some other requirements
@smilesuneel9004 A four-year college degree is usually required to become a military pilot. It is very difficult to become an Air Force Pilot. You need not only a high-grade point average, but also you must be physically and mentally fit, complete several educational and training scenarios, and be between the ages of 22 and 28. In fact, for every 1,000 applicants who apply, only 3 become air force pilots. All this information is online.
@Briannagila9344 thank you for much some other requirements I just focuse on english speaking fluently I can speak urdu Punjabi and English can suggest me which jobs best for me with associated degree
You wouldn’t be able to become a pilot until you first obtain US citizenship. You can join the enlisted side with a I-551, and then obtain citizenship while serving. Then you can apply to become an officer from within the Air Force, but you wouldn’t be able to immediately go the officer route. I made a video explaining how it works if you haven’t already watched it. ruclips.net/video/Rar4xlJH0JI/видео.htmlsi=-7i_nL5aORQ_rt0k
Hey Suneel, are you a current Green card holder or you will get in this December? What is your age because in order become a pilot you must start your UPT (undergraduate pilot training) by the age of 33. So my suggestion to you is if you are under the age of 23 serve 1 year in USAF get citizenship and apply for USAFA or if you’re over 23 serve 1 year than get citizenship and apply for AFROTC and become a pilot that way
Jody, I'm thinking of commisioning in the Air Force. I am an E-3 with 1 year of service and I have a Master's Degree in Education. What's the first step to apply for OTS?
Are these 'side hustles' necessary because the USAF doesn't pay enough or just if someone wants fund a massive Pokémon addiction 😁 While I'm between jobs I'm considering going back to a previous love of mine - film making. @smilesuneel9004
A four-year college degree is usually required to become a military pilot.
Too on demand. Seek something else. You might do better as a linguistic.
Find an officer recruiter
Are these 'side hustles' necessary because the USAF doesn't pay enough or just if someone wants fund a massive Pokémon addiction 😁 While I'm between jobs I'm considering going back to a previous love of mine - film making. But probably mostly for fun, I wouldn't have any expectations of earning, that's what the Only Fans account is for 🤣
Trying this RUclips thing out since 2019 😂 still working towards 1000 subs 🫡
Sir, on a serious note, what’s your email?? Looking to connect and join the USAF.
Hey Jody, I need some advice on a situation. Do you have an email or contact? Would appreciate the help, thanks
