      Do you really think Goku would be the character you know today if Superman had never been created?

    • @epannasir
      @epannasir 5 месяцев назад +8

      @@NerdTalkk yup. With the influence of Sun Wukong and Goku’s moral himself, which really differs from Superman moral, Goku can still be who he is without Superman 🙌🏻

      @@epannasir a character is not just about morals. What about his backstory and his powers?

    • @epannasir
      @epannasir 5 месяцев назад +5

      @@NerdTalkk their power ain’t even the same. Sure flying and super strength. But all the other one? And ofcourse moral is not everything but it is what shaped the character. His backstory almost the same, sure. But that doesn’t mean one character shaped the other or created the other. Both is unique in their own way but to say one copy the other, that’s smartless (being polite)

      @@NerdTalkk Goku (&Picolo) backstory of being extraterrestrial happen only during sayan phase there are a lot of things that happen before that.
      Also I don't think Superman can turn into a giant ape or have an equivalent of the super sayan or do a kamahameha. And I don't think that Goku has freezing breath, or X-ray vision.

    Now do Superman basically copying John Carter and "the strongest" troupes from hercules, Samson, Beowulf, etc

    • @jeffreycoogan09
      @jeffreycoogan09 2 месяца назад

      There are actually two characters who predate "Superman", both of whom are far more similar to him then (John Carter, Hercules, Samson or Beowulf). First we have the character "Hugo Danner". The main protagonist of Philip Wylie's 1930 science fiction novel "Gladiator". The story revolves around a Scientist who invents an "alkaline free-radical" serum to "improve" Humankind by granting the proportionate strength of (Ants and the leaping ability of the Grasshoppers). The Scientist injects his pregnant wife with the serum and his son Hugo Danner is born with superhuman strength, speed, and bulletproof skin. Unlike that of Superman...Hugo Danner has a tendency to hide his powers. And rarely gets a chance to openly use them. Although it is widely assumed that Philip Wylie's character was an inspiration for Superman. Because of the similarities between (Danner and the earliest versions of Superman) who debuted in 1938? No confirmation exists that Superman's creators "Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster" were in anyway directly influenced by Wylie's work.
      The second is "The Golden Bat'' AKA Ōgon Bat (Japanese: 黄金 バット, Hepburn: Ōgon Batto, which literally means (Golden Bat). A Japanese superhero created by ''Suzuki Ichiro'' and ''Takeo Nagamatsu'' in the autumn of 1930. The character originally debuted in a Kamishibai (paper theater). And is considered by some to be the very first Superhero. ''The Golden Bat's" superpowers include superhuman strength, invulnerability, and the ability to fly. This was 8 years before ''Superman'' first appeared in (Action Comics #1). Much like that of "Hugo Danner"... If (writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster) had any knowledge of "The Golden Bat" is unknown?

    Fun fact:There is another Superman copy named The Plutonium. But in a plot twist it turns out that The Plutonium inspired the creators of Superman to make Superman so in one of the comics so technically in a way you could kinda say that Superman is a copy. The Plutonium comes from the irredemable comics.

    Sentry or Gladiator are not the most blatant copycats characters in Marvel comics it's Hyperion.
    Gladiator is more an homage to Superman, Sentry is not really a copycat because he has different powers than Superman while Hyperion is really the Marvel's version of Superman and also the most blatant Superman copycat in Marvel comics with the same history as Superman and all Superman's powers.

    Superman is just an unbeatable superhero. It’s not hard to come up with that or someone similar. If anything it’s harder to create characters that aren’t invincible. Overpowered characters doesn’t mean overpowered writing. It’s lazy
