Nah man this aint helldivers 2, if anything they're gonna buff up other stuff like apollos attack or hefies passive boons (although the casts builds may be a tad bit much tbh)
Dunno why people hate torchs, its one of the safest possible build to get to chronos. its ridiculously easy paired with Hephaistos or Hera
The torch complaints are going to get the weapon buffed and torch lovers are gonna be eating goooood.

literally my favourite weapon in the game, first run with them i was dog shit and few runs later they just make the game easy, aspect of eos is amazing also. I have absolutely no idea why anyone is complaining about this weapon.

@@zerocool2233 I think it's just not an intuitive playstyle at first. The way the normal attacks kinda loosely move about and the special swirling like a Hammerdin from Diablo 2. But man once I got kinda used to it I was having so much fun.

Hera + Hestia is absolutely WILD. The fact that the scorch damage is shared between hitched enemies is such a ridiculous damage beam.

By the way after you finish with the music band if you go down and to the left you can have a similar interaction with one of the shades as the one supportive shade in the heroes fight in Hades 1

So for those wondering how good Born Gain is…While it’s not a perfect estimation, essentially, take your current useable max mana and square it, then divide by 20 (technically, 2*BG Priming amount). You can treat this number as your effective max magic.
So a very reasonable 150 magic with a common BG becomes around 1100 magic, and with an epic BG is ~1800.
There is technically some nuance when you’ve taken happens to use like 40 magic at a time, but this is pretty irrelevant once you get like, a single upgrade more.
Plus, with born gain you can continue channeling endlessly. With the other magic regen boons, you have to stop channeling to regenerate at some point.
Also for some god forsaken reason it's pommable as well. You can get it down to priming only 1 magic per magic bar used. Shit is insane and will absolutely be nerfed lol
If n is your max magic then n^2/20 + n/2 is the exact total with a common level 1 born gain.
@@atshame6712Yea, I just dropped the N/2 term because once you get past ~130 it’s basically irrelevant to the total, though it does always contribute. It’s QUITE hard to use more than 600 magic and not die or clear the room.

I think it was hard to see Dire Candle's impact because the bullet fired from it looked nearly identical to your regular bullets, but in this video you can see the sudden damage spikes when it hits.
Especially when he managed to pull it back through the enemy from dashing.
I like the humming, idk if people were complaining about it or what based on the message at 0:53, but I think it shows that you are having fun and enjoyng the music
I did Hera on torches a few days ago, and the Hera/Zeus duo makes this build completely insane because of how well Hitch scales with levels.
The fates are banished... He won't tell us where or WHEN. I know it would be mean to players that don't own Hades one. But wouldn't it be mind-blowing, if in order to find the Fates you would need Hades 1 and 2 on your PC installed and you can only find the Fates with Zag. I would love it.

How can people hate the torches bruh. Theyre easily my favorite weapon. So fun and such a big variety of build options
They just aren’t intuitive and the average person definitely didn’t like them on the first run after unlocking them. Even Haelian said they were the weakest weapon the first week or two lol. Ease of use wise and creating a build is just better with the axe, blades, and staff. You need to understand boon synergy to get the most out of the torches but you could just make a staff build and spam the special with zero brain power 😂

This is actually my main aspect right now. In terms of how many ghosts you can have out at a time, there doesnt seem to be a hard limit, I believe its just that each ghost has its own individual timer, so the more attack speed, the better. I find blitz to be the most consistent on attack on them, but scorch with explosion proc/hera/hephaestus with poms also are great! :) Appolo is ok too
Have you tried poseidon attack? How is it?
I've honestly loved the torches. I think they're particularly good for sprint synergies since the projectiles linger so much and you can focus on other methods of playing that don't require you to be in attack animations. I had a killer surface run with Eris recently with them that I saved as a highlight on twitch and these things are crazy good if you build with em well. I still need to try Eos sometime

Nope you are not going crazy. That’s exactly what was happening and it’s busted 😮
No need to do advanced geometry to make it work well in a simple manner. Basically the aspect asks u to be aggressive and dash towards the enemy, since all ghosts hit boxes getting sucked in front of u will also hit the target, no matter where they're coming from. Risky, but can deliver insane amount of damage as u did in Chronos' last hit.
Came here to say that too after rewatching the end of the Chronos fight. Dashing into enemies looks pretty effective!
There's no limit to how many you can have out at one time, it's just based on how long they stay via duration. So a higher attack speed means you get more of them overall. Once you see them starting to disappear, then you've reached your "limit".
Also, Funeral Pyre is great on the Dual Blades with the time slow Arcana as you can just infinitely stack burn.
so found out that Aphrodite attack and any Poseidon boon to get there duo boon Island Getaway(i think that's whats its called) is really good makes it so all enemies are counted as being near making Aphrodite's attacks hit like a truck only problem is damage sucks in the first zone unless you get close
I now have like 20-25 runs under my belt and i still loathe the torches, the only way I've found for them to feel worthwhile was after i saw haelian's own poseidon build and i had a couple runs with those (one with the hestia duo, it's really good) because imo they just don't feel good right now? Special not staggering, the attacks being a bit slow to be rapid but a bit fast to feel chunky, the little ghosts don't look very finished, the slow travel speed etc contributes to what feels like a highly unsatisfying weapon. Poseidon special only works because the knockback kind of fixes the special stagger issue but even then it's a weirdly risky playstyle for what looks like a ranged weapon. I'll try more Eos but honestly i do not like playing with this weapon at all
I failed horribly trying to do the Eos chaos challenge. Only tried like 3 times but not special spamming with Mel aspect just sucks in my exp

Could you, please, tell me, if you know, when you get an Incantation to change Keepsakes between levels? I am on my 30ish run and I still don't get it which is sad
I think this Aspect really sells the idea of aggressively dashing into and through bossess
I would swear I got 2 nightmare in the same run yesterday. I think what happened is I cleared the boss originally on my list, and then the list updated mid-run to the next boss/fear combo for that weapon who happened to be later in the same run, without me being able to see this update.
I believe the only way this Can happen is if you're well above the Required Testament 👀

This build with hera special on mel aspect and hestia/hera duo and apollo dash can legitemately have speedrunning potential, would love to see you try it

It took me a while to figure out why the song in the Fields of Mourning sounded so familiar. It turns out the basic melody is very very similar (almost exact) to the main theme of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Hopefully it goes unnoticed by the lawyers..

I think the problem is the base weapon is kind of crappy, but it REALLY ramps up with the right boons.
Hay @Haelien just wanted you know if you new about this when you were dodging Hecate's orb so you won't turn, your frog can eat it so you don't have to doge many times. Just something I found and it's very helpful.
I found the eos torches particularly crazy with heroic hephaestus attack at lv 4. The blast only had a 2 second cooldown and I was able to proc it twice with his duo boon with hestia.
the third zone gives me altus plateau vibes lol
The Bouldy reference is "A rolling stone gathers no moss" hence the moss hairdo as Sisyphus is no longer present.
This aspect + the big omega attack was super fun
The 1500% Hammer is insane with this aspect because it makes the returning ghost also deal 1500% damage ! Its virtualy a 3000% damage boost
It really changes the playstyle to a multi-hit weapon to a big one-hit weapon so playing Aphro or Apollo on it is really good, i saw insane damages with it :)
Apollo Sprint seems really good for the Fields of Mourning, especially with whatever the new Tight Deadline is
I cant recall but i think Eris is only in the chamber until you break the seal to go to the surface. Her job is to slow you down, at first its below, then above once you have the means. So its more foreshadowing that you are going to face her at some point, and it makes that fight soooo much sweeter.
P.S. For that same reason I believe the 2nd last boss on the surface will be Heracles
I feel like the hammer did more than it was given credit for. It's cumbersome, but with this aspect seems to have the capability of getting the big boi attack to hit twice? As long as you can manage the geometry xD
Also there’s a way to become invincible (almost)
Use axe, hell slash and executioner’s chop with dark side and use as many duration and mana reduction buffs on path of stars as possible. The hell slash is still used as selene

Question I remembered when you mentioned the fated list: I held off on hades EA, but couldn't resist this time so I'm wondering if we can expect progress to get reset during this period or if grinding a bit for some things on that list/elsewhere is worth it for more than just some fun.

I found a killer build with Poseidon’s special and hestia’s attack, with Thunder sprint and both of poseidons duos with them. Along with static shock, it was disgusting
Regarding the number of gods. I got 5 different regular gods today through keepsakes.
So 4 is not the hard limit
I just cleared a run with this aspect and got 3 perfect hammers! -Attacks deal 10% Damage, move 30% faster. -Channel Attack 10% Faster, Costs 3 (Got it down to 1 with Chaos) and then Echo gave me the 3rd -Attacks Split into 2 when they hit Foes! Almost got greedy and took the Hammer Keepsake at the end but I needed the Tooth lol

I just got the torch. I like the special for it, but not really the main attack. I mainly like to spam the special and dash around while the balls spin chaotically around me. The main issue is I can't aim them and they sometimes activate traps. I find the torch to be great for beating the first boss, but some enemies, it's not great for. I still haven't gotten to the second boss yet.
You don't want fire extinguisher at the moment, it's either bugged or incredibly underwhelming. I've looked over clips of using it, the scorch status disappears and they take no damage (I couldn't see a change in healthbar or damage number other than weapon damage)
Ive been really wanting to do a necromancer build using apollo hera and night bloom to summon enemies using either the torches or skull
How does +power work on boons like Slow Cooker and some of the hammers? Does it add flat damage or it has a different scaling?
Base/Innate Damage... Not Flat Damage.
You see that Damage number that Appears when you Hit Commander Schelemeus ? Yeah that's your Weapons "Power"

I was not a Torch fan either, then I tried Aphrodite on Special and ended up getting the Hammer that gives your normal Special +50 power. Never had such an easy fight against Eris. Twice she made the mistake of standing on the opposite side of a pillar from me and instantly lost that entire phase's HP. She didn't even get a chance to take flight once.
Not the best build for the Rift in general (narrow ships make it hard to use your normal Special) but I can't complain about the damage output.
Aspect of Eos my beloved
with regards to eris, one of my biggest fears as someone with a lot of hours in hades 1 was that id progress through hades 2 too quickly to properly appreciate its characters and story at the intended pace. the inclusion of eris to me shows supergiant considered that too, and wanted to craft an engaging experience for both new and returning players alike
Some day he'll realize that Frinos eats Hecate's hex and he doesn't need to dodge it
I think the nightmare gain is similar to hades in a way since the aspects need less of it in this game so it sorta evens out

Just keep Upgrading Your Pot and working the Fated List And it will get appear Sooner or Later.

The problem with the torches is it's the only Weapon that blocks Magic Regen.
That and they just Feel Awful no matter how much Damage they Deal. 😐

It's 30 but at 29 you will be stuck a little bit (the unlock is a bit tedious)
It's 30 and until 29 upgrade requirements are just grasp. And at 30 you need more exotic materials.

I decided to do all the Hammer Prophecies in a row. I spent maybe 8 hours on the Torches and I never want to see them again.
Hopefully we get an aspect that changes my mind. 😞

I don't get why there is so much hate for the Torch. Most of my dominant runs have been Torch attack runs, plus both of the unlockable aspects are fun and unique.
Mel's silly run with these in her hands is in dire need of a style buff

As "controversial" as Eris is, I don't know how much they would be willing to remove that interaction as it plays kind of an important part in her story with Mel. I don't even know if the first time you meet her is entirely "anti-early win" based as opposed to "whenever you first reach Oceanus", as I feel like you kinda need that scene to start seeing her. They'd need to introduce her a different way or something.
On another note, I had a pretty fun run yesterday with the Blades and that Hestia/Hera duo boon, with Hitch on the special with faster channel, bouncing daggers and a Hestia fireball on top. Then Poseidon attack with slip and the Poseidon/Hestia duo for scorch+steam on top. And I even got a random Zeus/Aphro duo from Echo, which was completely useless on its own but did allow me to see Zeus and add some lightning bolts to the strikes as well later. The AoE damage was pretty nuts! Still lost to Chronos, though, as it was my first time reaching the second phase...

A buddy of mine didn't beat hecate until his 4th run, and he never saw eris until she showed up at the crossroads, and her boss fight. It's definitely a progressing too fast thing
@@zacharythompson4894 I think you probably just forgot about it. I did the exact same thing until I saw someone else's first run into Oceanus. But then you see her in the fields and Tartarus multiple times so you associate her with those spots
@@KingJerbearno it’s possible to not see her in oceanus, I was playing through at the same time as a friend and he got her there and I didn’t

I don't HATE the torches I think they're very funny but I just CANNOT do well with them. I have 10 runs with them and 0 victories with victories on every other weapon. Any tips?
