    I had an acupuncture treatment recently and later that night I heard: Complete Silence! The first time in half a century. (I'm 92.) Unfortunately, it was back the next day, but I'm going to find out more about it when I visit the clinic again. It seems that hypnosis might work in some cases. In the meantime, I'm trying autosuggestions and at times the volume is lower.

    Ben, have you had any experience with patients who had their tinnitus spike after an experience at the barbershop. I was at an almost unnoticeable 2 for many years.
    After a visit to the barbershop it’s now been a steady 8 for 10 weeks. I felt an uncomfortable pain in my ears when he trimmed my beard with electric shaver but it was only a minute on each side. A few days later the spike occurred.
    Most people seem to think that being exposed to such low decibels for that small amount of time could not induce a spike. But I’m 99% sure it was.
    I would be interested to know your view.

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  6 месяцев назад

      An electric shaver, especially if they are loud and close to your ears, can potentially trigger or worsen tinnitus in some individuals. It's essential to be mindful of such exposures and consider protecting your ears when encountering similar situations in the future.

    Question. I have a strong Tinnitus for 18 years. Constant hissing sound, acc to doctors, strong sound. Some five years ago after a two ho8lur flight i experienced 5 minutes of 100 percent clear hearing, no hissing sound. That night i woke up due to horrible dizzyness, in my sleep. I could not walk without holding onto the wall. I was stable again 9 hours later, 11. In the morning. After this all continued like before and i never had a no sound moment again. Anyone has any idea what happened here??

      It sounds like you had a significant experience of temporary relief from your strong tinnitus after a flight, followed by a sudden episode of dizziness. While I can't provide a definitive explanation, it's crucial to address these concerns with a healthcare professional who specializes in hearing and balance disorders, such as an audiologist or an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist.

      Electric devices give of magnetic fields at a certain frequency I believe that some are sensitive to. Some people recommend getting out of wifi range even. I don't know about those two. But something I know is that screens definitely have a hz update-rate. Sometimes synesthesia can have sensory input from one sense bleed over into another. Some people can "hear color" or "feel physically touched when seeing something". Test if your tinnitus changes when you aren't looking at a device, or if you're far away, coming closer etc, to rule things out. Perhaps have a friend turn on or off a device without you knowing it, so as not to have you placebo-change your tinnitus perception.
