That was a joy to watch. Chef kiss passing, back takes and overall punishment....and big shout out to last guy with all that cardio to shake out of top mount a couple times and actually get an ashi garami attempt started!

I probably gave him almost 30 points in order to get that ash just for him to turn and kick out of it lol. It was an amazing experience to feel how someone at the very very top of the sport feels. Thank you Andrew and Bird for coming down and making all of us better.

As a complete hobbyist in the sport I ask myself how can one get this good, but then I remember the footage of Wiltse literally living in a box with a pad lock at the “front door” and doing jiu jitsu all day every day…. Pure dedication and sickening commitment, that’s how one gets that good……. If I can only find a box to live in :)

52 seconds…I’d be pissed if I was Andrew trying to teach this guys school and he’s throwing scissor sweeps. I think Andrew would rather save his knees for competition at this point in his career.

    • @andersmoore

Andrew and I have been training partners for seven years. Also, we are both elite competitors training for the highest level (including ADCC, where this technique is allowed). Its like anything else ... if you train & understand it, its not very dangerous at all

@@claymayfieldbjj I dunno man, I bet if you put it in percentages, the scissor sweep has taken more knees than any other transitional move in bjj. Was Andrew there to train for competition or to help your school? If it’s the latter, I still contend it’s not a good thing to be doing to him. Not worth the risk. He’s there to teach not to train for competition.
