I have over 220 Hoyo and ALL are in DIY Pon. I use self watering pots or a clear nursery pot with cache pot. I let them dry out a bit between watering, but never let them go totally dry

I'm so glad you've found a silver lining in no longer trading in plants. I think it's great that you can enjoy them purely for their beauty! That's what got all of us started in the hobby. Enjoy your freedom!
I don't think Begonia are all that fragile and Hoya are so resilient! It's cute how precious you're being with them! I think you could pop all your cuttings in water, perlite, or even Pon and have them do great. But it might be best to talk to your very generous seller and see what environment the cuttings came from and what they recommend.
Best of luck on continuing to become the beautiful woman you are. It remains a privilege to share in your journey!
I hope you're feeling as well as you present cuz you seem fabulous! Carry on, Kaylee Ellen, carry on! 💚

I bought cuttings of these two hoya, hoya polyneura and hoya heuschkeliana variegata, 2 years ago after watching your hoya rare plant index. I thank you for that. I put the in plain water and they grew nice roots. I potted them after and now I have nice full pots of both of them. I love them and they bring me joy even today. I hope all the plants you bought, the hoyas and the begonias, bring you joy!

I root hoya and begonia in pon, I almost fill the outer pot(reservoir) with water until you can see it in the pon and leave it and by the time that water is gone they are usually well rooted and I just keep a normal reservoir from there. So nice to see you excited by plants again, its like the old days!!

I grow almost all my plants in pure perlite in a vase with a water reservoir and they are all rally happy. This includes my hoyas, begonias, anthuriums, philos, dracaenas, monsteras, snake plants and alocasias. I just adjust pebble size depending on the size of the roots. Bonus….no fungus gnats 😀

It’s so funny you’re into begonias now because back in the day before the plant shop I used to watch you for aroids and Betsy Begonia for begonias. I don’t think she does plant content anymore. I really miss a lot of the 2010s plant content creators. I’m so glad you’re still here for us!!!!!

Begonia White Ice: I´d wait a month and then pot it. The roots are still too small.
I grow all my begonias (rex and cane) in finer pon (Lechuza style), slow-release fertiliser and self-watering pots - they do excellent, even in winter. The self-watering and pon is my key to success - it´s otherwise hard sometimes to get the watering right - they can melt away super fast beyond saving.

  • @dhdomable
    @dhdomable 5 дней назад +3

All my begonias are in semi-hydro (none are terranium begonias though) with wicks and they are growing well. My white ice definitely enjoys the semi-hydro life. My rex begonias in particular are doing fantastically, much better then when they were in soil. I'm feeding with the Nurture system and the rex begonias love it, the colour has improved and isn't getting as washed out under bright grow lights as they previously were.

I haven`t really been into Hoya but was attracted to the shape of the polyneura so bought a cutting. I put it in moss with a clear plastic cup over the top on my windowsill and after a period of sulking it took off and grew well. Have since bought a Brojet cutting so fingers crossed for that one! Glad you`re rediscovering browsing and buying plants for pleasure.

Just put your Hoya cuttings in pon! Works great. Little plastic cup with a hole half an inch above the bottom, so you have a little reservoir of moist without drowning them. Put them in your cabinet and that's it. Eventually put them in a little prop-box for more moisture.

I have an all-green Polyneura and the same type of Heuschkeliana! :) The Polyneura is in a self-watering pot and had pretty much doubled or tripled in size in two months (but then again, it's wintertime and it likes colder temps). Heusch prefers it warmer imo, and turns nicely pink under strong lights.

Same girl, same. I’m getting into begonia too.
Currently have cane begonia maculata, maculata black forest and benigo pink. And Rex Maori Haze. Only got the Maori because one leaf had this beautiful pastel pink, green and white variegation on it. 🌝
The chance of it continuing is slim, but I don’t mind trying.
Def put them in pon. I have mine in LECA. And they drink a lot! I often forget to fill the reservoir and only remember when I see a leaf laying on the floor🥲
