Hi Becca! Can you plz make a video of you propagating those Hoyas? So we can learn how? If that’s not too much to ask?❤
I would love to do that! I have shown how I start them out propagating in this video: ruclips.net/video/sTT-EzdNbMA/видео.html&si=R1Q0OBu99haKQ63S
But I will start a project type of video where I show the full process.
Pictum Tricolour doesn't need high humidity! :)
I live on the east coast of Canada and inside it gets REALLY dry during winter.
Mine has been living in ambient conditions (40-60% during spring/summer, 15-35% during fall/winter) for over a year, and it does great!
The main thing is to nottttttt let it dry out fully, or they'll faint like a fittonia does!
Other than the watering, they're easy to care for :)
That hoya verticillata is gorgeous! Such a nice plant haul! 💚🪴
It really is!! 😍
Yes the pot is mass produced!! I have one too 😊 I’m in Houston, Tx! Such a fun haul!! All the Hoyas are gorgeous 🥰🥰🥰
Go Adam ❤, lovely hoyas for sure 😊
Your inner variegated Verticillata is sooo pretty! I just love those leaves!
It’s one of my favorites from this haul!! 💚
I’m definitely on a huge Hoya kick right now and these were so cool! Gotta get Adam to make some more videos 😂 It sounds like his collection is amazing! Super super exciting about the Florida beauty!!!!!!
I remember back in 2018 how MUCH Aglao pictum tricolors were!! Like 3 figures for rooted cuttings! And for an actual plant with that many leaves it could’ve easily been 4 figures!! I think tissue culture not only made it much more affordable, but I think these TC specimens are more hearty as well
Those huge hoya leaves are stunning! 🤩
I also love your nail polish color. 😆
They’re so gorg!!! And thank you! 🥰
Honestly shout out to tissue culture for keeping prices down, creating more hearty/easier to care for specimens (IMO) and most importantly protecting the plants from poaching in their natural habitat 💚 win win for all of us
I tell you, for me the Pictum Tricolor has been super easy. I am an overwaterer. I honestly struggle not to kill things because I love to water them. Even though I have over 300 plants!! I try not to water my plants too much. The thing I like about the pictum, is that if it’s thirsty, its leaves droop down sooooo low. And it’s not like I’ve gone a long time! LOL. 😂 Kind of drama Queen like a Nerve Plant. Those leaves drop and you’ll know it needs water! Haha. I live in Utah and we have really dry climate. Humidity is super low. We are lucky if it’s 30%. And it’s been fine. I was scared the 1st time I saw the leaves hanging, I’ll be honest. But they were back looking perfect by morning. You do well with Cactus, and I DON’T! So you might have to water more often than you are used to. But otherwise, this is such a fun plant! A lady moving sold me a large one for $15! Score of the century. This is when they were $50-80 locally for a really small plant. So I felt so lucky! I love the Florida Beauty. I bought 7 leaves a lady chopped. All 5 of the really Variegated ones leaves died. So I’m propagating them in a Prop Box. The greener leaves are still in water. The Variegated ones have great growth points activated, but the roots are SOOOO Slow. If I get an opportunity to get a healthy plant like yours, I too will buy it. I’m hoping even Half of these props propagated. If so, I’ll have a gorgeous plant. It’s just hard to be patient!
Great plant haul! I love every one of these beauties! Many thanks for sharing. 👌🪴🥰
Thanks for watching :)
Hi Becca, what a wonderful haul of plants, I love them all and look forward to watching them grow in your care!!
Thanks so much!!! I’m excited too! 🥰
That Undulata! My top wishlist hoya!
Wow that Florida Beauty looks amazing!
It’s a beauty for sure!!!
Just getting into Hoya's so this was interesting 😊
Maybe an idea for future videos; houseplant tour with Adam? If he's up for that 😉
Haha he has a channel!! Hopefully he will make more vids this year :)
Loving all the Hoya. Adam is the best 💚
He’s such a good friend :)
Love HayDay! Been playing for years! I am also obsessed with Hoyas!
It’s so fun 🤣
GREAT haul ! ❄️⛄️💚🙃
Love them all
Thank you ❤️❤️
Market changes are so crazy! I got a pictum tricolor at my favorite local nursery on clearance last week. 4 growth points and under $20 😮
Oh Florida beauty is on my wishlist stunning I have a ghost which I adore but the beauty is next level x
I had no idea people think of aglaonema pictum tricolors as difficult plants! I’ve treated mine like a normal aglaonema (lower light, room humidity, watering it when I feel like it) and it has done totally fine! I think you might find that it is an easier plant than you are anticipating
Okay that’s a huge relief!!!
The Aglaonema pictum tricolour are from tissue culture, I got a baby one for 4€. I don't find them to be difficult, they do fine in normal humidity. The crispy edges people get are more likely from saltburn than underwatering in my opinion. A friend of mine has a big one that he underwaters often, but it only got crispy edges once he overfertilized it one time.
They do like it warm with pretty bright light and shouldn't stay dry for too long, but otherwise easy. I think people thought these where finicky because they where so expensive? But that was just because of the hype and the fact that they grow pretty slowly I think. So the demand supply ratio was crazy
Love, love those 🪴
What a great haul! 😍 I love any inner variegated Hoya, but they are all gorgeous! I'm glad you made it to Happy Plants and can't wait for your walk thru video! 😁 If you haven't already been to Calvert's Plant Interiors, they have 2 really nice greenhouses and a lot of big succulents!
Thank you!!! :) I am excited to check out Calverts for sure!
Nice haul! The Hoya verstigii is so pretty. It’s giving the same vibes as the undulata but dark green 😊
Yessss 🥰😍
Beautiful plants 🌱
Nice haul very exciting ❤
Wow those Hoyas are awesome! ❤
So excited for you on these new plants!
The H. Sagillatis has been so tough for me- she is currently living in water 🥺
Just wondering if flat mites are still a thing ? ❄️⛄️💚🙃
Definitely still a thing 😣 if I ever suspect a plant has them I just give them a hard spray with the sink faucet. Usually that clears them up for a while!
💚
Omg wow that big leaf Hoya is niiice!! I always hated Hoyas this whole time and it’s disturbing me that they’re starting to attract my attention!! 😩😩 I don’t need anymore plants and there are way too many Hoyas to start liking them now!! Hoyas stay away from meeee please 💚💚😭😭
The name of hoya versteegii looked so Dutch to me that I had to google if it was discovered by a Dutch person. And, yes, it was! It might be pronounced 'fur-stay-gi-i', but honestly I don't think it matters very much how we pronounce plant names because they are just made up words :)
(Edit: changed the pronunciation from far to fur)
damn, I’m about to drive down to okc from Kansas if they’re selling Florida beauties for $80
You must!! I thought it was a crazy good price too haha
