I just stumbled across this video and decided to take a look. To my disbelief I have been drawn in and think I just might be able to do this! This instructor is brilliant - combining inspiration and technique in the time it took for me to have my morning coffee. I cannot wait to get started!

Tried your lesson today. I had a good experience painting the limes and it's shadows.

Watched thus ladt night and really enjoyed it. I loved the painterly, imoressionistic look/technique. The biggest thing it taught me is that i don't have to match the colors exactly to the sibject i am painting.
I think i am going to have to try this one.

I just painted this as my first acrylic and it came out amazing. I do wonder if there was a solid yellow underpainting in the lime flesh section, if it would have shown up more yellow afterwards

Matt, how do you keep from worrying about perfection when it comes to sketching, painting, etc, from a students' perspective? I'm working on my OCD for perfection and symmetry and also my impatience is improving with each sketch I do... thanks Matt

Was your paint dry when you added the glazing? So that it would sit on top when you swiped it across rather than mix with the paint beneath?

I think you would like oil paint. Your painting process is a lot like for oil than acrylic.

What is that growling sound in the background?
