I so appreciate all you've done this year. I discovered you just before my province went into lockdown. I watched many many older videos trying to get a handle on why I was so taken with your process. Ultimately, you taught me how to allow the layers and layers build, to allow me a place to express the unease we're all feeling. As a watercolourist, I didn't understand why I was suddenly so attracted to mixed media, and it took six months to understand what art journalling was. I was so restrained by my pretentious ideas about being a "fine" artist. While I don't mean to be dramatic, I want you to know that you have helped me cope with 2020, and what you've taught will continue to help me, I suspect, for the rest of my life.

Thank you for sharing your insightful journal. I enjoyed your sharing on what inspired and what challenges you went through in 2020. I'm sure many people had some of the same experiences. I often comment on my days in my daily calendar and currently have decided to try mixed media journaling this month. I found your video very inspiring and look forward to watching more of your wonderful tutorials. I have been isolated for most of 2020 and would like to learn to find a more expressive means to document and express myself by learning mixed media journaling.

Your journal is awe inspiring. I get what you do!! I have started this path. No life changing issues just aging; gracefully I might add 🤣🤣 words have greater meaning and relationships run deeper. I wish my 20 something person knew this!! Thank you for sharing!! ☮️❤️

What a year! This journal is fascinating to look through and be reminded of what we survived. The pages and the dark cover are wonderful. I agree, we need to be gentle on ourselves, I feel as if we are holding our breath, waiting until it is over. Life will be better again and we will exhale a sigh of relief.

It's been a journey, hasn't it? The fact that there seems to be no immediate end to the pandemic woes is still somewhat daunting. I think we have all done some serious growing together, but most of all have learned that together we ARE strong! Love this journal cover and video!

This flip through was so amazing, seeing the transformation in the art and the quotes, it all changed as you changed. I also fully support the boundaries you’re putting in place, I will look forward to your one video a week whether it be a journal page or a canvas ❤️

thanks for sharing your process and the rationale behind what you chose to do and the tools you used. . I love my catalyst tools and I also find the handles way too long for working in journals. My solution was to use my chop saw and cut the handles to the length I wanted, then using my Stabilo Woody pencil sharpener, I tapered the end . A light sanding with a sanding block and it's smooth as it was originally. problem solved. perhaps this will be a solution for you as well. Happy New Year.

Having been inspired by you over the past few months I have finished my first ever journal which I started in December. For my eyes only but I'm interested to see what future ones I make and how they may compare when I've learned more.

This was such an inspiring video. Gorgeous journal and thank you for sharing your journey - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Loved seeing how you assemble your cover and how it grows and develops as you go.
Question: Are the pages in your journal double thickness - two pieces of paper glued or sewn together? They seemed very thick. Thank you for your help.
Best wishes! See you back soon.
