  • The garden needed some trellises for roses. We came up with a circle design and are fabricating it in the shop. Mild steel bar is bent into many different ring sizes and then put together into a fairly large trellis. I am also showing some really beautiful slow motion shots of welding and grinding in high dynamic range.
In this video I am working with Tony Pederson (from Chicago) and Nils Anderssen (from Norway).

Loved the welding footage! I'm going to go and get my little MIG welder out the shed for a bit of a play...

Ah, this is reminding me of how I bent all the various side and finger rings and arcs for my rapier hilt that I made in my welding classes.

"Placing the rings is pretty fast but making all the little connection pieces will be annoying." Really? This is what puts bread on the table and butter on that bread (your bread and butter) so don't consider it "annoying." Consider it "bread and butter" so that you don't sour on aspects of your job.

Agreed with you on focusing on the positive. Fortunately, none of this is a job for me. So, I get to do whatever I feel like doing. That said fitting all the little connection pieces was a little bit annoying. Some mental adjustment may be needed there :-)

Lying to yourself won't bring long-lasting happiness in your job either. Annoying is annoying. But yeh it's good to remember why you're doing the annoying thing, so you remember it's worth it.

A little on the Werner Hertzog side with the narration. I approve.

@@PhilosophyCat I don't know about that. I've just been working 50 plus years at over 34 different jobs. One has to focus on the goal to overcome self-destructive thoughts.
