This is another video, apart of my discovering new music series.
In this one I am listening to XG for the First Time.
XG fans are like proud parents watching their kids impress the hell out of first time listeners. :)

Shooting Star is the song that made me Stan. A lot of people think that the bside to the Shooting Star single is better. It's called Left Right. This group will not disappoint. 👽♾️🐺
Same here, even though I heard galz xypher first. Shooting star random came up on my kpop playlist while I was working and I literally had stop and check which group it was. It was such a different experience that I had to jump down the rabbit hole 😂
@crash5758 I heard Xypher first too! I didn't Stan yet because I didn't hear a song yet. Shooting Star gives me goosebumps, even to this day. When I finally see them live in October I might lose it when that song comes on.

Yaaaaay Juria is the voice you liked in tippy toes. She is one of my biases along with Maya. Juria also hit that note in shooting star. She's the one with the bangs

XG has a Wolfpack Alien lore. They are using thier powers here on Earth. Their fandom name is ALPHAZ (Wolfpack Lore). They are from a Label called XGALX formerly XGALAXY.
Great reaction and welcome to XG! For rap, Woke Up, their song just before Something Ain’t Right (SAR) is probably the best intro as all of the members rap (even the vocal line). After that if you want to see more of the rap line, the XG TAPES and the Hesonoo/X-Gene video are a great way to go. The vocal line does XG VOX videos that show off their voices. If you want more mellow R&B sounds, Left Right and their Christmas song, Winter Without You are great examples.
Like the first girl who is Juria sings in Tippy Toes. If you're new to XG then "you haven't seen nothing yet" with what this group can do. Also watch the dance practice for Tippy Toes. Their choreography is so good that even professional dancers are blown away when they react to it
This group so far has done harmonies on a drill beat, did choreography blindfolded, performed one of their songs entirely in ASL, had Ciara and Jackson Wang do an official remix of their song Left, Right at Coachella in 2023, and has been written about in Rolling Stone, Elle Magazine and the Grammys, had their song Woke Up trending at nr 1 for a few days on RUclips. And if you think that's insane after just two years. This group also has been praised by professional dancers, singers, rappers, producers and whoever works professionally in music because all seven members in XG are all-rounders

Hearing your review I won't be surprised if you become a massive fan of XG when you see more of their stuff. I'm a millennial myself and I've never seen a group like XG ever in music. Their talent and versatility when it comes to dancing, singing and rapping is unheard of and their coming to America for their part of their world tour in October which most likely will skyrocket their popularity due to word of mouth

Thanks for your reaction to XG, it's always nice to find people who enjoy good taste and know how to appreciate the hard work that these girls have had on the long road they have traveled since 2017. Well, here I leave you a small historical review of XG
XG is a 7 member group formed by XGALX who parent company is Avex. The members ages range from 18-22. All members are Japanese with 2 members being mixed one is Japanese Australian and the other Japanese Korean.
The group had a training period of 5 years, starting in 2017 until the end of 2021. They have a hip-hop/R&B concept and are the first group to debut in the new global entertainment production XGALX, which is affiliated with Avex. The group strives to empower young people around the world with their fresh, inventive music and performance.
In my opinion they are all talented with different qualities and when they are put together they have made the perfect group.. they sing, they dance, they have charisma, they are humble, their music is not sexist and they adore their fans (alphaz) .. Get ready with some popcorn, a good soda and a good towel. Because you will be completely wet with satisfaction and emotion when you immerse yourself in the world of XG / thank you

Great reaction and nice to hear your thoughts. If you liked then I think you’ll love this rabbit hole. They have a lot of different sounds with more rap heavy tracks, pop and smooth R&B too. I’d give you recommendations but honestly it’s all great so it kind of doesn’t matter what you get into next.
Since you asked about it, they do kind of have lore or at least themes. A conceit they come back to a lot is that they are aliens and there are a lot of references to space in their lyrics (for example all of Shooting Star). Wolves also come up a lot and the fandom is called Alphaz
You gotta check Woke Up, XG tapes, and the rest. Honestly, I'm pretty much a new fan, a couple of days after discovering them, I immediately bought some concert tickets. They're really good, I have my personal favorite songs but all of their songs are dope fr.

Yeah this was cool. Great thorough reaction. Xg doesn’t miss man. And the best part is they are a content makers dream. Built in audience. Great music. Reality content following their journey. Individual tape drops for rap line, vocal and dancing and a doc about their formation that adds just a beautiful backstory to watching their progress and almost taking pride in them. The overarching idea is they are aliens period and they play with that concept multiple ways.

I appreciate your approach. The one just before this Something Ain't Right was Woke Up in which the whole group was rapping. I hated when reactors started there. Woke Up is the reason Cocona has a different look these days.

I'm impressed that you seem to be one of the few reactors coming in to check out XG with mostly the vocals. A huge collection of reactors are usually drawn in by their raps so you are in for a nice treat when you go down that rabbit hole.
If you really want to be blown away, check out their "fixed" version of all their Dance Practice videos (especially Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star, Left Right, Puppet Show, and choreography video for Undefeated -- though all their dance, Move and Choreo videos are incredible!).
If you want to really appreciate their vocals, then check out their live singing on 'The First Take' (for Shooting Star and Winter Without You), and 'It's Live'! Their live singing is better than the studio produced vocals -- though I know at this moment that wouldn't seem possible.

The xg tapes 1-4 is a must to see that they are rapping rapping for real.
They are the greatest group of all time for me male or female. I am usually not into these groups at all.
But to have a group of 7 people with that versatility, that talent and that work ethic is crazy. It backs up their lyrics where they say, they are the best, everything they do is A1.
I like that it is mostly English... so it is easier to appreciate

But as you see and you view their discography XG has not made a singe "bad song". And really everyone is multitalented and can sing, rap and dance... the MV's are top notch but it can be harder to fully appreciate their dancing skill and how precise their dance formations are ... best in the industry without a doubt. And compliments for picking up on the super powers in the SAR MV... that is part of their thing ... they regularly have a alien subcontext in all of their videos which ties into the meaning of XG ... Extraordinary Girls. They lyrics reflect self love, gender equity, squash the pettiness paradigm and promote female solidarity". last point you'll notice a lot of wolf, den, etc references because wolfs are mascot... and Alphaz is the name of their fanbase.

Because you love 'Something Ain't Right' you should check out 'New Dance' and 'TGIF (since Something Ain't Right sounds like a merging of those two songs, but on steroids and with it's own flair). Also, for more R&B vocals check out the vocal line's VOX #6 video cover of FLO's song 'Losing You'.
One thing you should always remember when it comes to XG, they are very versatile. They embody every genre you throw at them - hiphop, R&B, pop, EDM, etc. They don’t have a single bad song. None. Nada. And the more groups you discover, the more you will realize that XG is not like the cookie cutter girl crush bubblegum cutesy girl groups that are oversaturating Kpop.
Winter Without You is their best song IMO. (The first take) version is the best.
