Refereeing isn't the best. Each team was on the bad end of a wrong decision at the most crucial moment. Saying that... what a come back. And good work IST.
Any mistakes made by a human referee cannot be used as an excuse for abysmal discipline and behaviour exhibited by numerous players, coaches and spectators.
@@McCandlessJohnJ agree there's blame on all sides but it's important to keep in mind that the officials bad calls have a direct impact on the game. The players are the ones that are supposed to be participating ...people don't come to see the referees and this referee inserted himself way too much into the action.

I have no idea how there can be such a discrepancy between the level of play and the level of refereeing. I don't know if the refs had a bad game or if this is standard, but jesus, they got way too much wrong. Hopefully they will learn and get better though.
If you think this is good level of playing I really think you underestimate even how much better the USA state or nation leagues are. League 1 deserves referees who are developing like the players. This caliber of soccer would be closer to Sunday league over in Europe then anything else. Referees need to develop as well. Did he miss some stuff, sure. But I would applaud him on how confident he was from start to finish while taking 90 minutes of decent.

There’s a serious shortage of officials across all sports across the globe. People don’t want to officiate anymore because of games like this.
In Canada there is a huge shortage of good referees.

As everyone wanted to blame the refs, the real criminal in this match was that game ball. One more PSI and that thing would have absolutely blown up. Talk about a way over pumped ball...you could hear it everytime they played the ball.

He didn’t just “ fall to the floor “ the white kit player quite obviously kicked his shins which caused him to fall and lose control of the ball. I wish people listened and watched games properly. So annoying
@@billysmith7255 Both players were fighting for the ball, and the white player did actually kick the ball too, I can't see any real foul here. The red team had a habit of stopping when they thought there was a foul.

Great camera work - really like the replay shots from behind the net. The hours of editting certainly pay off as it all looks professional quality. I can't see a single error in the camera work and every zoom in/out is perfectly paced and only adds to the football rather than distracting from it - amazing achievement for the duration of footage.
with the league official on the sideline has there been a history of something in regards to the teams and refs? this needs to be done more often- coaches and players get out of hand too much
That was the 4th official, League1O always has a 4th at the senior level.

While I do not subscribe to any theory that the referee team affected this match negatively, it is nonetheless a really good lesson for referees - we must sanction all instances of misconduct correctly, from the first whistle, in order to manage the match and avoid the poor behaviours and discipline that grew as this match progressed.

Hi from the UK ! Entertaining game but the referee had an absolute shocker of a game. He wouldn't be able yo ref a kids game here! Great game to watch and both teams tried to play football. Keep it up lads
The 4th Official doesn't tell the ref who to send off. This guy was on a power trip and thought he had all the power. I dunno but there seems like there's history between that team and that 4th official.

@@spikey9479 centreback was tracking back in the middle of the field so if his next touch takes him towards goal then he still has a 1v1 with the defender, and then he has to beat the GK. Ball was never possessed by the attacker (he was still running on to it and had yet to take a touch). Lastly the ball was going towards the corner flag not the goal so you don't even have direction as a qualifier for DOGSO. Also by your definition is the goalie not a player? And stopping the play is not a red card. If you're looking to say it was stopping a promising attack, maybe, but he never had possession of the ball so you still can't give a caution.

All sorts of holding and tackling being allowed. At least in the first 30 minutes of the video, only real possible sending off would be a two-yellow dissent sending off on the Academy striker. Other than that, he got one for Dissent, and yellows for Promising Attack and Deliberate Handball...

That was not offside at all, very poor work by the linesman there. He also missed the foul at 27:16 and then gave a foul right after to the opposing team.

the penalty near the end was the right decision.There is existing contact on the attacker and the defender's leg was out. The fall wasnt the most convincing but on the rule books that is a penalty

"contact on the attacker" isn't necessarily a foul. The defender's leg being out only matters if in the opinion of the referee, it was a trip or an attempt to trip that was more than "trifling". I don't see it.
No, no way. I am a ref and that is 100% not a penalty. The player was going down before the "contact" which was minimal at best.

The GK shoved the player who slid in the back to keep him on the ground. It is a definite red.

What kind of camera do you use for the goal view?
One of the easiest things in reffing to do is call offsides correctly. That was an egregious mistake by the sideline ref. Hope he gets better training. No excuse for a bad call like that.
Sounds like you've never had to make a close offside decision. Have you ever heard of the flash lag effect?

Always look at your options before the goalie, some of them are trying to look cool and look at what cost this guys the game. That's a crazy comeback. and the refs, i don't know what is going on.
I think a draw is a fitting result for this. The penalty was a foul and he milked it .

I personally didn't think the referee was that bad. He missed a few calls both ways, but this is an amateur league and you get armature referees so play thru it and don't get stupid yellows for running your mouth or kicking the ball away. The penalty was a penalty.
my thoughts exactly, there were a few calls/non-calls that I disagree with, but the penalty, even if it was slightly away from the play, was a penalty. People seem to not understand the 4th official has the power to suggest cards to the referee, he was a little aggressive when having the referee send players/staff off, could’ve just told the referee who said what away from them, but still a decent job. Granted I’m a 19 year old with just over 5 years of youth refereeing under my belt so take my opinion with a grain of salt if you want

Wait. Just googled the League One Ontario as I've seen some of your excellent vids today .. Is it really true that it's considered "semi-pro", yet the minimum wage is 22.000$ going up to a max of 77.000$? Holy mother of god .. The levels of these keepers, and some of the players even, are below most of the top amateur levels in Denmark ..
I'm hoping the refs aren't paid half as much - seems like they're a bit confused. @27.45 not even a yellow given, or at the bare minimum a warning .. Some of the goals are topclass however! The MFA team seemed better technically, but got started too late, but still an amazing comeback - not easy being 1-4 down.
I dont think they make that much. From my understanding the majority of the players in the league do not get paid at all . I could be wrong but I dont think so

Most of them do look fit, some of them even look like they could play at secondary proffesional leagues, but I was just very surprised to find those numbers as it would be more than a good chunk of Danish toptier players earn in Denmark :D

Refs didnt have their best match…. So many poor decision against white.. how that breakaway wasnt atleast a yellow i beyond me and a clear penalty at 42:50 followed by a poor shout at 44:10
I am currently at the 29th minute. The referee makes his mistakes in favor of the red team. No yellow card for that foul and such an obvious SPA? That offside call was bad. It was onside.

That fourth ref went overboard with all the reds on the bench. Really bad refereeing, that last goal on a penalty was so bad. A ref should never decide the outcome of a game and sadly these refs completely decided this outcome. I hope they appealed all the reds

I have no idea who these teams are, so I have no skin in the game. The video came up as suggested in my feed. The officiating was horrendous from the start. When referees allow dirty fouls to go unchecked time and time again, the tension inevitably builds on both sides. You could see players obviously going for revenge & you could hear them yelling at each other. Both teams, coaches included, were at their boiling points because the referee allowed dirty play. Period
Too many spectators and players grousing at the ref, as if he would change or make a call based on their complaints. I can't imagine why there is a national shortage of referees in the US and Canada.
