So I was the 4th official on this game, been waiting for this video to drop! Whoever the loudmouth fan is - I appreciate the passion but I still have nightmares about that loud shrill! 😂
It makes me realise that it’s all theatre, in the cold light of day. Shouting for everything, making in the heat statements. You reffed it extremely well - can see why you achieved Level 4 along with Anthony, and the far side referee will likely achieve it too if he achieves his potential. In other words the best officials in this league appropriate for the fixture. 💪🏽

I started watching your content recently and I have to say I really enjoy it.
This clearly wasn't an easy game to officiate but I think you have done very well mate - I agree with your decisions all of your KMIs which I think is most important. It also go shows why you were promoted to Level 4 so well done once again.

Well done mate. Brilliant performance with such a tough crowd and set of benches, RIP for the 4th on the day, must have been miserable. Things like this happen every week and people wonder why there's a lack of referees in this country. Keep going, don't let them get you down.

Terrific video as always, mate. I don't quite fancy some of the dialogue toward Omonia but it sounds like the relationship cuts deep. 😬 As for foul recognition and calls shown... You seem to be spot on with what you're seeing and correcting after the fact. The CK resulting in a next play G for Omonia is one of those spots where you have to go with what you've got. Appreciate your chat about the angle you took being the opportunity to work on. Thanks for everything you share - keep it up!

It is about time some teams are held accountable for their actions. I have had quite a few of these types of games always get the big local derbys as the league know I won't take any crap from players. love a bit of banter with players personally I would of had No:20 on the 2nd one. otherwise great video and again well refereed.
Man, that was a tough game to ref and I love the channel. When you have guys more interested in yelling than playing football, might as well just forget about playing advantages. I think the 18th minute foul by #20 Green would've been a good time for a first caution, if not for the foul itself than for the chaos that the foul could cause later on in the match.

There’s quite a few. Where is it? Only in response to what you were mouthing off but you left that bit out. It was either that or send another Omonia player off for their comments after the match.
Your behavior is further proving my point.
Say what you want though about the match, no problem but just be careful of what you say in terms of names. Honestly don’t want you getting banned for the start of the new season

Side note- imo as someone that used to film and edit sunday league games keep the audio running when you play the replay backs, works better for authenticity and fluidity of the vid

14:44 - Agree that this is a YC. The raised knee is reckless, but fortunately the contact is at an angle where his whole hip bends to mitigate the contact.
16:15 - Agree with just a DFK.
20:15 - It looks clean from this angle and I suspect it is, but a better look that shows what the other leg is doing would be helpful. I suspect the attacker's left knee was bleeding from a previous incident.
20:49 - Without the benefit of retrospect, don't think there's a wide enough position that's reasonable for you to take which lets you see this. But maybe have a look at your AR first to see if they have something for you if you know you've been shielded out.
25:23 - In a vacuum, this is serious foul play. But I think you did well finding a way to go with a YC given that it's only *just* SFP and this is a cup final.
26:18 and 26:56 - Clear YCs for a reckless tackles.
28:12 - Out of context, I don't like this YC for persistent offences. This is only his third over the whole match, which is now in the 75th minute. And his fouls were, by your own admission, fairly soft. I'd try to just publicly warn him if he's been otherwise cooperative. But maybe there's context not shown in the video that makes it worthwhile to give?
29:58 - Agree with just a YC for this tackle.
30:23 - Clear careless foul (but it always sounds worse when shinguards come together!).
31:03 - I don't think there's a YC here unto itself. But this player has been the biggest source of match issues for you from that team. Also, he's committed much harder fouls (and more of them) than the player you cautioned for persistent offences. I would like a final warning here.
31:32 - Good YC for delaying the restart.
32:35 - I know what you're thinking blowing up right away for this YC, and it's not wrong. But with only 3 added minutes left to play I think the aggrieved team will be focused enough on playing for you to give advantage without causing a match control issue.
35:27 - If you were sure this is non-negligible contact to the head, this is violent conduct and a straight RC. That's what I see in the video.
36:47 - Definitely a RC for serious foul play, and I understand missing the headbutt in real time. But, at least you recognize what ought to have happened.
Overall really well done; I would be happy to turn in that performance myself. Congratulations!

Really good refereeing there! I'm honestly surprised that you managed to keep your cool for almost 100 minutes of football, I would've lost it if the subs and fans were screaming in my ears for every foul. I also liked that you showed the classes of foul play, like "C1 - aggressive behaviour" and stuff, made the decisions more clear. Overall a thumbs up from me. Also those Omonia fans and bench were really toxic, didn't like their reactions at all.
It's hilarious how people do something ridiculously stupid on a football pitch and then wonder why the referee is booking them or sending them off.
I have this exact thought every time I see someone absolutely having no clue about why they are being booked

Hey mate, great refereeing from you as per usual. Have to say, I've seen worse behaved clubs than Omonia (lord, I've played for worst behaved ones). I enjoyed the banter, but maybe not the best thing for a ref in the league to be doing. Regardless, always love your videos.
Having had you ref me many times this season and last, i can honestly say you're one of the best in the league (along with Anthony) it's a shame to see Omonia act in this way as when we played them in the cup they were very humble and a nice bunch in their loss... I do feel during this video the little comments you gave were uncalled for but so are all the comments about your channel during the match.

Got to agree with this, it is very tasteless of you to constant mention the team/manager/what they have won/how they play. I think you reffed it well, except I think you ,issued a foul on the 6 when he went up and was caught late.

That looked one tough game to referee. Both teams didn't help you but Omonia shaded it in the 'pricks' category.

Commenting as I'm watching.. 1st half did well, good foul recognition and disciplinary actions. Not every foul and free kick needs a card.. development point.. injured player move away, way too close and given the type of game and team, it could potentially invite arguments/criticism from physio and team members
the foul in the first half when it could have been a penalty i would have cautioned him just because of how many fouls the green team made, would use it as kind of a team booking

The yellow for the six was borderline but both feet was high, it was just who caught who first to which way it went with both teams screaming for a red!

Loved the banter about you showing the coach your league medal, always get players who say I bet you have never kicked a ball in your life when I have won more leagues than they have had hot dinners.

Oh my god - this is exactly why there is such a crisis with people not wanting to take up Refereeing. Im in my late 50's and had the misfortune to be involved in games like this and it makes you want to pack up. To be honest I actively avoid making myself available for these games cause I simply don't need the grief. The conduct of Omonia team from Coach down was embarrassing - to be fair Trent Park had their moments too. Can only hope that they will look back on this over time and feel ashamed. Did the Coaches give their players any direction of encouragement during the game or di they spend all their time baiting you??
Only thing I would question is why you allowed so many bodies on the benches? There were too many non team personnel IMO which just added to the circus.

I can understand why referee’s quit because of things like this. Trent Parks bench weren’t angels but the way the way they conducted themselves before and after the game and their players is miles above Omonia. I have no idea what their coaches did. I had a fourth official to deal with that but it’s actually quite hard managing benches with the amount of people for a Sunday League game
14:45, I would definitely give a yellow, Lino had a good position could maybe ask him if he thinks it warrants a red, I don’t think so. 15:32 definitely a shoulder to shoulder, not a foul, I agree with the fans with that one (I watched it 3 times). 15:48 yellow card, back of foot. 20:10 no penalty. 20:51 either Lino didn’t do his job to tell you and say his decision or you didn’t look at him, as that from a side angle looks quite spot on for showing a GK? Maybe, just from what I look like. 23:40 could be a yellow, however, I agree with no card. 25:33, as you said “studs were showing”, Omonia would be going down to ten men after that. 27:44 fould, wouldn’t say a yellow. 29:53, lunges in recklessly and from behind catching ankle, agree with yellow, potentially a red for serious foul play. 32:39, probably should of noted player, play advantage till ball went dead, then hand out yellow as they had a promising counter attack going on. 35:49 I wouldn’t be bothering with the yellow, straight red for violent conduct. 36:09 the number 5 hits him in the face, and is aggressive pulling shirt, maybe lenient for the yellow and probably is another red.

I have watched this channel for the whole season and think you are a good referee. I think that maybe it was a little iffy you refereeing your best mates game when i heard it at first but seeing the game i can see that you were very impartial and did a good job. I think the tackles flew in from both sides and you got them correct in the main. However it was the attitude of the Omonia players and staff that made them so much worse. Every challenge the players surrounded the ref, every 50/50 ball the coach was moaning! The captain of Omonia handled himself very well and I would think that he will consider if he wants to play for such a nasty club next season? Trent Park made some bad challenges and got cards, but they just got on with it and excepted their fate. Best team won and I fully back you with all your comments in commentary and after. Why should you get abused all game and booed getting your medal and just keep quiet? I would expect a prem ref to keep quiet and be professional but they are on lots of money, you dont get paid enough to put up with that shit. well done and cant wait for next season.

I think you had a pretty solid game. People act differently at finals and you won’t please everyone. I would say you’ve left yourself open for criticism by Omonia for your comments and I find them unnecessary. Ref the game, make the video and move on. The viewers can clearly see their behaviour

Get your frustration and not being happy with the conduct of one team, however, you’re instigating further issues with that team and not showing professionalism. You’re allowing your emotions to disrespect another team. (Ref of 13 years here by the way!)
I fully understand what you’re saying mate and I appreciate the comment. All we do as refs though is take abuse and nothing gets done about it. Teams get away with so much and it’s constant. I’m highlighting massively what it’s like at the worst of times

If you feel little gets done, you have the platform to use your video evidence and report such teams.
Huge respect for show casing grass route refereeing, but you clearly want to go L4 and beyond so just make sure what you show online; keeps the FA on your side and doesn’t question your professionalism.

Wow.. what a 2nd half you had! Controlled it very well, very unfortunate not to see the headbutt but, at that time everything is moving a million miles and your thought process goes out the window. You identified players and again took correct disciplinary action. Omonia have poor behaviour, spitting the dummies out of their mouths. If they are watching.. you are fantastic role models to the next generation! Yes that was sarcastic!!

The biggest takeaway I have seen on this video, is that the coaches and players of the losing team are putting more effort into attempting to blame the referee (you) and excuse their bad plays via comments on a youtube video then actually playing on the pitch. If this much effort was put into playing the game and controlling their behavior, maybe they'd have won. Or at least drawn level.

lol teams want to slag off Reffs during games then act surprised when a reff finally says something back. Every reff bites their tongue and says nothing during the game yet managers and players constantly disrespect them.
Yes ok we understand some reffs are awful but it’s part of the game. Would you rather have a poor reff or no game?
Even then, I’ve seen decent reffs get shit because managers can’t open their mind and see past the biased they have for their team.

The Referee showed lack of respect to omonia football club. I feel like he let his emotions and personal issues get the better of him in this fixture. He should have never been given the final with the conflict issues with his best mate playing in it.
