it would look cool, but technically they can't since they are only using parts from around the shop and I don't think they have an oil slick chain, i could be wrong though.
Purple=Passion. Great video. I went shredding today (for a 64 year old heavy guy). I still have the same tektro brakes and have no problem stopping, though I wouldn't do the white line turn with them.
Good call on the spacer on the bottom bracket. If people read the Shimano instruction correctly, they said 2 x 1.25mm spacer. Which equal to 2.5mm and these cheaper crankset only comes wirh 2.5mm spacers
Man I love that oil slick crankset. Also, the lockout feature on the SRAM derailleur is nice. It sure does make taking the wheel off or easy. Even without a clutch, it’s stout enough to minimize the chain slap too.

I used to think you were a bit cavalier with your chain / chainring alignment. After playing around on multiple bikes and multiple cranks, measuring and doing the math I decided that your method is good as any. When I put the IXF crankset on the 73mm BB Axum I had to forgo the use of any spacers to make the left crankarm marginally secure. The chainring is only 46mm from centerline of the bike, yet it shifts flawlessly with the L-Twoo 10 speed. The left crank arm is still 4-5mm short of being fully seated. It took some searching, but I was able to find an M19 crank end bolt with enough thread to provide for extra insurance on a marginal fit. Maxxis tires have a well-earned reputation. Although they may be heavy, they will take the punishment I'm sure you will give them. Grip choice is easy, go purple! PNW Loam Grip. SRAM Level T is a good brake. I prefer mineral oil over DOT because of toxicity, but go SRAM. Stay vertical.
Thanks for the comment Bob, I appreciate you having some hands on experience then commenting. Everyone has a technical way but when you have 35 bikes it is not as easy as the commenters think lol.
19:21 I am curious how you get along with these grips, I did not, I had to swap them every 4th week if I rode a lot cus the got so soft I felt the handlebar, but when they were fresh they worked well, very comfy, decent grip. I had this issue with all grips I had, it got expensive replacing them. Most expensive grips if you have to replace them that often, but others told me they don't have these issues. So maybe I got only grips from a bad batch. The plugs are junk. The grips won't do well with a Bluetit attack, one made a hole in one grip, nothing huge, but crashing can cause tears and holes too. I am not a fan of the install process, I prefer lock-on grips more secure, won't twist.

I have one of those same useless cranksets. It was $15 on Amazon for the longest time. I figured it was too good to be true, so I ordered one to see if anything showed up and it did, but the one I ordered was advertised as 104bcd and showed up as direct mount, so I ordered the appropriate chain ring and attempted to use it on a paying customer's gt aggressor pro. It took all 3 spacers to get the drive side to clear the chain stay, then the shaft was too short for the splines to grab on the left side. J.U.N.K!
Coming together nicely. It's going to look good with the purple grips, the duro tire on the rear, and the Kenda on the front. 🤘😎 Slappin' Chains n Takin' Names!
The OEM style NX Eagle shifter is all plastic and the MMX style (the one you have in this video) is soo much like the GX. I love mine and I have the GX pulley with the GX b- bolt kit and it feels almost as good as my GX.
You could have put the spacer you intended to put on the non drive side onto the drive side to get the crank arm away from the frame. The bottom brackets I have installed include a chart w a bunch of numbers for drivetrain geometry ... But, it all comes down to a combination of spacers between the two sides to get the chain wheel spaced and to keep crank arms off the frame. You can get a set of spacers of various sizes on Amazon.
MN we have got tons of spacers, the issue is the clearance and not enough shaft on the L side to bolt to, it was like a 1/4" with 2 spacers being used for the R side. I did not explain that well....
Veronica's looking good! Shame about the crank set, but it's still a great concept for a build. @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Not 100% sure on the derailleur but it seems to be in a more relaxed position on the smallest cog so over time it might help? I realize I stripped the rear hub by trying to tighten the cassette down instead of putting in a spacer to get rid of the play.

Find a bike with a small or medium frame. The GT Aggressor Pro at Dick's Sporting Goods comes in various frame sizes. I think the new model Schwinn bikes are available in different sizes. Been a few reviews on this channel. Really would need to know the price range. But, the frame size (not wheel size) determines if it will fit you
Hey brother a sized frame would do wonders for you. Maybe a small GT aggressor pro, that frame is a good standover for me. Let us know what you think, go to dicks and mess with a GT.
how are all of your Race Face Chester pedals? I've been using mine for a couple months now riding 6 days a week and they still don't spin freely. I even tried taking them apart and regreasing them but they are still stiff. The only thing I didn't do was take the bearings out because I couldn't figure out how to get them out.
Is the Ardor still your favorite bike? Unfortunately for me, I have to live with my Ardor staying stock for awhile. That is other than the saddle, pedals, and grips.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS so it was B bolt? But make sure it works well in largest cog, I shift to 2nd gear, and make syre there is about 3-4mm clearance between largest cog and guide pulley.
Dang I left a comment about quitting tobacco and it got deleted by youtube. Not gonna type that again but anyone struggling to stop, you can do it. Last thing you want is to fall on your bike and get a cut that doesn't heal up due to nicotine delaying the process. End up having a bunch of slow healing wounds and scar tissue. It's a wild substance, same with alcohol.
Solution buy Garbaruk cassette no seperate cogs, but cost of the whole bike probably or more, atleast stock bike😁 but on a serious note installing the cogs has never been an issue for me, but once the freehub body is chewed up so badly the cogs get stuck, you have to use a smooth file to file the splines, or whole casette will get stuck.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS never seen it described as shaft. Usually it's axle, axle is even written on some crank axles. Rotor uses Axle. But I see crank spindle is also used. I see Easton, Race Face has used spindle laser etched on crank axle/spindle.
I would us ethe silver oval chainring you have, that looks like a much better product, if it fits, I don't remember. But I guess you won't take parts from other bikes. But I would build a bike with all the best parts.

You need to take a couple more links out of the chain, it shouldn’t be sagging like that in the 12 gear
I think 2 would be good, thanks man.
Is the Ardor still your favorite bike?
Unfortunately for me, I have to live with my Ardor staying stock for awhile. That is other than the saddle, pedals, and grips.
That's a beautiful bike. Are you going tubeless? Also you should put cush cores in this bike.
Thanks brother, nope. Not tubeless
15:05 the chain has 5oo much slack, you need to adjust the B bolt.
👍👍🙏 Done and done!! Thank you Johannes.
🙏
Solution buy Garbaruk cassette no seperate cogs, but cost of the whole bike probably or more, atleast stock bike😁 but on a serious note installing the cogs has never been an issue for me, but once the freehub body is chewed up so badly the cogs get stuck, you have to use a smooth file to file the splines, or whole casette will get stuck.
Wow, sounds like it's EXPENSIVE!! Now I would hate to file every spline! Lol
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS steel freehubs are stronger.
“You’re probably wondering where the tube and tire are”. No I’m wondering why you are tightening a cassette tool with a pipe wrench…
🤣🤣🤣Oh God, Tech Jeeper!! Nice to see your still here man, I just did that too se if you would comment!! LOL no more monkey wrenches!! HA ha ha
I gave up on being the Terminologinator!!!
🤣🤣🤣 Man I love your play on words, even if we agree/disagree on SHAFTS!
Crank shaft🤣, it's a spindle
But, it IS the shaft part of the crank. Maybe it was just a creative use of the English language.
🤪🤪😂 SHAFT!!!!
Yeah, everyone mentioned that kind of thing as well. But no other parts 👍
The People's Bike.
Lol yes, anyone that comes down is more than welcome to ride!! Lol
SRAM, not SaRAM :P

Your chain is too long
Hmmm......maybe a link
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS ... I just did this myself when I took a chain (cassette and derailleur) from one bike to another bike ... it shifted fine on the stand but it skipped when I rode it.
For fuck sakes bro, get rid of the pipe wrench. lol.
SRAM DUB BB install chart. Similar to other brands I have used, too.
