Could you imagine a full 90 minute concert? I'd be exhausted by the end just listening. I love playing bass. I have been playing for 38 years. I will never be this good. That's ok. I wiil keep on loving playing bass.
Years before I started playing bass, a friend told me “bass is probably the easiest instrument to learn to play, but it is one of the hardest to get good at.” Over fifteen years of playing, he’s definitely right.
@@sterlingmartin3212 Every instrument seems to have a plateau where you really don't feel like you're getting better for a long time. Just kind of doing the same thing for awhile and perfectly competent, but you're not really progressing. Bass is one of the hardest to be good at because its plateau seems much harder to break from than most instruments. Does that make sense? Not sure if I put that the best way possible.
I’m pretty certain this was originally said about the guitar many centuries ago. The guitar is the easiest instrument to learn, but one of the hardest to master. Except in Italian or German. I’d have to look it up.
Just started playing bass again after a four year break due to not being able to get my hands on an instrument, I've never been so simultaneously disheartened by lack of skill and also inspired to get back into playing as I was watching this video. Insane playing by both of you, truly virtuous musicians
After such brutal, vicious, and underhanded insults, battle was the only logical option. I mean, "I love your stuff?" What does that even mean!? Seriously, though. This was great!

AWESOME!
This amazing sound made me wish I still played in a band. The synergy that comes from more than one instrument and the people behind those instruments working together is one of the best feelings. Thanks guys, for doing the work to make this look effortless.
I really like the structure of these battles as they show off different techniques while having the two people somewhat playing together and going back and forth quickly at times all leading into the final bit which is typically the craziest.
This was so enjoyable. You seem to be able to quickly understand each others musical language and I'm very curious what you'd come up with if you wrote a few tracks together for an EP or something.
This was an absolute pleasure to witness! I think that the thing all of us should take away from this is, that rather than saying "my favourite musician/band is better than your favourite musician/band"... imagine how amazing it could be, if they worked together to make a masterpiece using their skills together, especially when they're at the top of their respective games. Thank you Charles and Bernth. You made a disgracefully ageing rocker very happy 😊

Wow!!! Lots of Polyphia and Animals As Leaders here, with unmistakable Berthoud dreamy harmonies! There is the new sound of virtuoso rock. Wonderful collab, guys. With a little more production and mastering, that’s a legendary LP in the making!
