Hey just in case! Dont get scared to red line a honda engine! That how they work!! Thats where the fun comes !! Honda turbo works different as other turbo cars! 5000 and up till 7500 to 8000
No Budget Racing he is running low psi! No reason to be worry! A good toning you can go stock lil over 400hp or 12psi and you can still go that high rpm! Thats where the rev honda belong! Plus with turbo will be a quick call to the next gear! Its no like he will stay a mile on 7200 or even 7500! Its for when he get to the next gear the rpm drop no more then 5000 to 5500 to recover! And thats where the juice fun is! If I didn’t hear wrong he said he is running 7 to 8 psi that I believe is is around 260 to 290hp
Mike, next step is either a VTEC head swap, or get a D16Z6 and boost it. All of your parts will swap right onto it. The D15B7 is a good engine, but unless it's built it's not going to make much more than 180 whp. My 92 EG8 had one when I bought it and it kicked a rod through the front and back of the block due to oil pump failure from a blown head gasket and oil contamination. I swapped it with a JDM D15B VTEC and boosted it. My single cam had a JDM Del Sol Si trans with really short gears. That short geared transmission made a HUGE difference from the LX trans that was in it.
If you are going to upgrade your brake, look into the TYPE R/CRV caliper, Mini Cooper rotor and TSX pads. And rear is TYPE R caliper and pads, 02 Civic Si rotor!
You need to dyno this my man, thats why its bucky. You can also have more boost by creating a small boost leak with a T hose connector before the wastegate :D
@@joshuaacevedo4874 I'm assuming nothing. Torque converters are super heavy. Swapping is easier then you think. Took me 5 hours to swap. Just gotta have the right brackets and ecu and such.
Automatic transmissions have them. 5 speed transmissions do not. I highly recommend the transmission swap and then turbo. But either or it'll be fun turboing.

@DIVINE if you're on only 7psi on a usdm d15 then you'll be lucky to hit 140whp. I've got a pretty similar setup on a D16Y7 pushing 9.5psi and it made 177whp/172ftlbs on an engine I'm pretty sure was hurt before I had it tuned. If you need any help or advice hit me up. In the process of building a Y7 over winter for 500whp but will be happy with anything over 400 also I live in maine and it looks like you're from NH.
@@diiviinemedia just constructive criticism. If it was ok to have compressor surge they wouldn't have made blow off valves in the first place. I understand it's just an eBay setup but I'd want the turbo to last as long as possible before replacing it. Best of luck and keep pushing good content! EJ ftw!
Cuz u can tune fuel map all day if the ignition map aint set to a stock 16 degrees it will blow soon as u step on it and u need to set the igniton timing with a timing light to 16 degrees
I like how you have it on low boost because everyone that boosts there civic wants to get the highest psi and end up blowing there car just because they wanna have hella power
Anything more than 250 or 300hp would be pointless you would bounce rev limiter the entire time and or spins tires stick with long gears in a turbocat. N/a build ex tranny will shave .25 to .5 a second off quarter mile

My 93 civic has a z6 in her what would you think I could get out of it power wise with turbo?
She's slow and gears are long I think a turbo would help ALOT

JeffiBuilt EJ1 compressor surge when off throttle is fine, if it happens when on throttle then it’s bad

If I keep the D for a while it’ll need a new trans eventually, couple of the gears have started slightly grinding haha
