    I came here because I saw thing about Smaart, seemed interesting. But their videos seem hopeless, don't even say what it's for. Thank you. It's for people with more money than sense [sense - literally - ears]. There are loads of free & open source things that will do exactly the same. Start with Audacity. I love the fact you have a very shiny mixing desk, but a basic dynamic mic. Very clearly done, no major dropouts or pops.

      Wrong bro. Not a dynamic mic. You need to learn your stuff.

    • @HaharuRecords
      @HaharuRecords 10 месяцев назад

      The whole purpose of this process is to analyze the maximum range that speakers produce to get their full potential. How tf a basic dynamic mic can do full range analystics....If you do that, the outcome will be based on its, and it will ot only ruin the whole mix

  • @mustafagundogan1103
    @mustafagundogan1103 4 года назад +1

    If your using a reference signal over the mixer you plug your mic over mixer also. It all about make settings in correct impulse response time. You are adding latency and signal changing or coloring of your mixer to your reference data you need to do it same to your mic. Plug your mic to your mixer then take signal from direct out your mixer to your soundcard ;)

    • @maitjuuse2902

      Sorry for asking as I'm new to Smaart, but if I plug my measurement mic into the console with my Pink noise running from the console, do I route them to a bus and then take the outputs from the bus to the soundcard?

    • @mustafagundogan1103
      @mustafagundogan1103 2 года назад

      @@maitjuuse2902 if your rta mic is routed to an out then to your soundcard(must be direct out, after gain) and your console's noise (pink or m noise or etc) send to soundcard (pre fader) is usable.

  • @jonlehuquet6288
    @jonlehuquet6288 2 года назад

    excellent video , the only thing i would suggest you change is your "pink" marker ( ref signal ) . instead of sending to your console and returning it from your console , you should loop out directly from your sound card and back into your sound card for less opportunity of signal loss and less accurate measurements. if your signal generator is looping directly out of the sound card , then right back in , you know you have a solid reference 100% . GG tho well done

    • @AttawayAudio
      @AttawayAudio  2 года назад +1

      Thanks JOn! In this instance, my console IS my sound card. The reason I suggest sending it from the console is that if I want to change output levels, both my reference and measurement inputs change at the same time. But you're exactly right - fewer components in the system means fewer points of failure.

    Also I had a small question. Do we have to insert the delay that smaart finds before starting with any tuning?
    Thanks alot.

      If you're happy with how your speakers sound, and they're covering your seating area well, then no, it's not necessary. It's a tool that makes the job of setting up speakers easier, not an essential tool for running church services week-to-week.
