    I feel like although its great to give people the option for a written pattern, but if you’re making a youtube video it should include the full thing so those who can’t afford the pattern can still make the piece. Or give a disclaimer in the beginning about how you will need to buy the pattern half way in.

    This is so hard( as my first ever crochet, Im working on it for a week, and always end up starting over and getting mad lol, it ends up being wavy and bumpy or too big, and I always find my needle was going under wrong V part. SO
    As a motivation for myself I will write here
    Day 7 of trying to crochet a baraklava(today) ✅
    Day 8 of trying to crochet a baraklava- I started the ribbing again, and this time it sits good ✅(Also I started crocheting a checkered bag, and it's going good!!)
    Day 9 done ✅, have to do the neck part again because it didn't fit into in the final form was too tight but its 1am so I'll go sleep now I have university tomorrow
    Day 10 and 11 done ✅ and I'm finished ¡!
    It's overall ugly lol but as a first work I'm satisfied

    It would be helpful if you could include a stitch count at the end of each row because mine started curling up which I think means I was missing a few stitches but I don’t know how to count them. That’s the only way to know for sure if you’re counting your stitches right.

    why did you give away your whole complete pattern, full of detailed explanations on how to do everything, just to near the end (37:51) say you won't tell the number of decreases on like 5 rows or more bc it's in your written pattern????? couldn't you just leave it there written on the screen or record yourself doing it like literally the whole rest of the balaclava???

  • @keelypage4865
    @keelypage4865 Год назад +7

    when doing the 18th row (with the increase on the 13th opening) you only included that we do it twice. are we supposed to go around the entire row doing a single stitch and a double on every 13th opening, or do the rest of the row single after the 2nd double stitch (on the second 13th opening) as single stitches? or do we just stop after the second double stitch on the 13th opening? 29:09

    Could you explain what you mean that it would look like a different pattern when your decreasing at the corners of the opening?
    Why do you crochet into the side stitches and not the top?
    Also what do you mean by go straight? 😅
    Thanks!

    •  2 года назад +1

      I crochet into the side stitch so each side has a continuous look. If I went through the too I would get lines through the pattern. And go straight I mean no decrease, 1 stitch per opening

  • @user-dn1su5se9y
    @user-dn1su5se9y Год назад +1

    Hi, thanks for your tutorial, I've been crocheting this the last few days and love it already. I'm just wondering right now because after row eight of the straight section, where you put the increase, you say now you have a total of 18 rows. So we had 8 rows increasing, 7 straight ones and then on row 8 of that you put an increase again. At the face opening you have a total of 18 rows, so does this mean you do 3 rows (8,9,10 of "straight" section/side portion) increasing every 13th stitch? Because if I do it just once it is 16 rows in total right or am I lost? :D anyway, really like how you explain in detail in general!

    I LOVE your personality, but the tutorial isn't very good. It started fine, but as soon as it came to the ribbing and the neck piece everything went crazy and nothing fitted anymore. I had to improvise and it looks very cool now, but it's far away from what you did. And I get that you try to make some money of it by selling the written pattern, but it's a little saddening that you won't say the number of chains and stuff like that and just keep referring that we should buy the pattern. Chain counts would have helped a lot. But after following one hour of a tutorial and nothing is working out, my motivation to buy the pattern is pretty low...

    You lost me at 33:52 😩The face opening part. First thing I'm confused about is that you say you'll be back once you reach the end of row 2, to show how to finish off and go into row 3. But when you do come back, it looks like you're still on the same end of row 2. So I'm not sure if you're now speaking about row 3.
    There's two things you mention here:
    1. You changed the V points where we are to feed the needle. Is that just for row 3 and on?
    2. There's a decrease at each end of row 3 but idk where exactly to place them because you kinda skipped over that part. (complete newbie here if you haven't noticed)
    Please help 🥲

    • @ms.mommyreyes5859
      @ms.mommyreyes5859 Год назад +3

      I figured it out! I realized, after watching numerous times, that you unravelled the little progress you made on row 2 and came back to redirect your viewers to feed the needle through the front Vs. Just a little editing error. It's all good! We're moving along Lol. It's going good but I just noticed I forgot to decrease at row 3 but I am not going back to fix it 😅

      So in reading the comments from here and on Etsy it appears that the written pattern is just as confusing as the video. Some people are complaining about how they waisted their money. You would think that a second video would have been made to make it more clear. I’m glad I read the comments before purchasing it. I literally had to go to a entirely new content creators video and improvise 😡 definitely gave this a 👎🏾

    • @ms.mommyreyes5859
      @ms.mommyreyes5859 7 месяцев назад

      I think what’s missing in this video is stepping back and discussing the overall sizing of the balaclava so that it fits your own head.
      The pattern sold on Etsy only gives a little more info on the decreases and she pretty much gives you everything in the video.
      I came close to finishing this about a year ago and gave up because it came out wayyy too big and loose for my face.
      This month I decided to try again so I unraveled more than half of my progress and was more intentional on the sizing; I tried it on many times throughout my progress. I finished it and it looks OK!
      Still I struggled and had to go outside this tutorial to connect the neck ribbing to the head piece because the slip stitch connection taught here doesn’t allow the yarn to stretch which means that it won’t expand to pull over your head.
      First time I connected them it was too big, then too tight to even fit on.
      This was my first crochet project though and I take that into account as a possible reason as to why I struggled with this tutorial.

    beginning from row two, you are not putting a half double crochet in the "slip stich" stitch? you skip to the second stitch. Right? And then at the end of the row you are putting a half double crochet in the slip stitch? I do it the opposite which is confusing
    Yeah so for row three you put a half double crochet in the slip stitch? WHY AM I SO CONFUSED LMAO. It cuz when you slip stich the row together the chain two is so loose and the 1st half double crochet looks weird.
    and then for row 4 you dont even put a half double crochet IN THE LAST STITCH WHERE YOU SLIP STITHC>? LITERALLY WHAT./
