    Hello sir. I am 23. I dont know what you have just done but I am assuming it is chemistry. Would there be any books I should read or is it all experimentation. And also. How did you aquire the solution at the beginning. It has gold in it already? Or did you just chemically create the gold from material apparantly found at hardware stores? I have many questions as this seems a method of becoming wealthy but again I have no idea.

    Hello Sreetips. Once again , let me thank you for all of your informative videos. They are very informative. I have started refining gold based on your step-by-step processes.
    I wasn’t refining very much copper in quarted gold, but during the sodium metabisulfite phase I never got a head of foam. I actually added almost a half a pound of SMB.
    I only used about 100 mL of hydrochloric acid, and 6 mL of nitric acid for my aqua Regia, so I don’t think I added too much acid. Does SMB always foam when complete?
    I did a Stanis test and there is no gold in solution, but I have a very thick slurry of gold/SMB at the bottom of my beaker. Which leads me to my next question, of how do I get rid of it? Will dissolving it again in aqua Regia do the trick? Or should I just flush it with water or something? Sorry for the crazy long questions. -Brent

    • @sreetips
      @sreetips  2 года назад

      It’s not too much acid but rather too little gold. SMB is very water soluble.

    • @brentherrmann6252
      @brentherrmann6252 2 года назад

      Thank you so much for the fast reply. So it sounds like I can pour off the excess solution after it all settles. Then, take the slurry and wash it with water, and let the SMB get flushed away? And you’re right it was only about 9 g of 14 to 20 karat gold. Thanks for your help. -Brent

    Great video! How does the Sulfuric Acid help to filter out the lead? Does it make the lead solidify at the bottom of the solution making it easy to filter out just like metabisulfite does to liquid gold? I saw you pour in the sulfric acid and mentioned it binds the lead but didn't notice you extract any upon filtering as you said it was already clean gold, would it just be caught in the filter as a solid? thanks!

    • @sreetips
      @sreetips  3 года назад +1

      Sulfuric will combine with any lead, IF PRESENT, forming lead sulfate that can be filtered out completely. I add sulfuric whether I suspect the presence of lead or not. It hurts nothing and provides a big benefit. Lead will ruin the ductility and malleability of the gold, even in trace amounts.

    How come you put the gold mud into the crucible wet? I just finished my very first refine and I am scared to melt it because I don't want the powder to fly away all I have is a map torch and a crucible I don't have a kiln but you dont use one. Is that why you put it in wet so it can't fly away? I am expecting ten grams or more. Will it work also why no borax?

    • @sreetips
      @sreetips  3 года назад

      Map gas will melt gold. Wet gold sticks together and won’t fly out of the dish. But it could pop a steam bubble and spatter gold everywhere so heat it slowly. I coated the dish with borax before I started. I avoid lots of borax because molten borax will come over with the pour and glue the gold in the mold

Print more stimulus and the value of the dollar gets destroyed. No matter what they do, gold is going higher, much higher. If I was looking to buy gold I’d be converting my paper to gold as fast as I could - at the asking price. If it’s real, karat gold can be held just like it is. It will track right on up with the spot price of gold. It could pull back to $1900 or even $1800, but then zip on up to $2500.,I think you’ll look back on $2000 gold and wish that you’d bet the farm. Can't you use the other kind by spectricide to make poor man's aqua regia, since it's potassium nitrate?

      @@sreetips I know, I figured that out a few years back, I told someone to look for bonide, they came back with the spectricide. I was gonna send it back, but got to looking it up online, because it's a nitrate. It works for poor man's.
      Thanks for responding, I'm a long time viewer, and I like to go back and rewatch videos such as the ones you make, cause every time I do, I learn something i may have missed before. I'm always trying to learn something and you and a few others have taught me a lot.
      Thank you for what you do!!

    Can anyone answer the question, what is about gold? You can't eat it! Say if all the economies goes dead and someone comes and buy and possesses all the gold in the world what can they physically do with that gold that's physically beneficial to them?

      I learned on the goldrefiningforum.com but use caution. They are very intolerant of people who log on and ask for help right away. Probably happened to then when they were new.
