Hello Trout. I have been watching many of your videos, and subscribed. I hope that helps your channel. I love your videos and if I could add anything, I would like to see a bit more of the upgrades and repairs you are doing to your boat. After 20 years of not having a sailboat I just bought a Cape Dory 28 which I am in the process of refitting. For me, having the dream is the first step in living the dream. Thanks for the Videos!
@ The island loop! Bahamas and south. First might go north Annapolis boat show then south all depends on departure date! Getting close though. Yes on St John's river south of Jacksonville. Still another 6 or so months here.. all money dependent.. you know that!..🤙
@ awesome man! I’m sure we’ll run into each other somewhere along the way! I’m aiming for the Caribbean loop this season and then back north(in summer this time)
Not sure, that is the plan but I got some medical crap I have to deal with that might push the date of departure a bit… my friends sre leaving end of next month, we’ll see.
@@SailinWithTrout Got hit up my Cuz near Panama City then down to the Dry Tortugas National Park then to the Bahamas. I don't have to be back in New England until April for construction season. Look for a Prout Snowgoose 37 Cat Named ISO KALA

Do you use cruising books or charts or electronic navigation equipment, im impressed with your knowledge about where you are and where you are headed on the icw the chesapeake and the ocean.
I pretty much just use my phone with the Navionics App. I have paper charts as well but don’t use them. The phone is convenient and it’s always on me (I use it to record these videos). I hope to buy a sextant before my upcoming long offshore passage so I can use the sun and charts to navigate
I have a back up tablet and a Garmin InReach as well as spare battery packs and a small fold out solar panel for them. I would like to get a sextant and not really on electronics though
It’s going to be so rough in the Caribbean having to listen to the fans running, constantly applying sunscreen, and having to rinse the salt off after swimming 😭 I don’t know why I do this to myself
Great vid, looked like nice steady sailing I could feel that. Lots of sun too, that helps, enjoy!
Thanks Steve, it was great sailin for most of it! The sun definitely helps to take the chill off
Hey Trout! We love watching your adventures. Keep the vids coming man!
Thank you!🙏
Nice job trout!! Those Chesapeake mornings are nights are colddddd!! And the Swiss mushroom burgers look scrumptious!!
It’s only getting worse, we gotta get south!
@SailinWithTrout yessir

@@sailboatcarrabarra3114 ah shit, hope it goes smoothly! We’ll throw back some beers at some point this season, but who knows where 🤷🏻♂️
When you get to Florida let me know I would love to go sailing! I’ll bring the beer 😂😇 My boat is on the hard in Massachusetts for the winter!
Sounds like a damn good time🤘 where are you located?
@ west coast in Tampa! But I’m more than happy to meet you in the east coast!
Looks great, Trout! Did you end up lining up crew for this passage, or are you solo to the Caribbean?
Thanks Adam! I made a post awhile back looking for crew but then decided to go for it solo. And now as it get a closer I might be second guessing
I can't leave until December. It's going to be a cold sail from Rhode Island
Oh man, I’ll try to blow some warmer air up from the Carib! Where are you headed?

Does she sail better without that Yamaha hanging off the back of your sink? Haha!
Oh yeah for sure! That thing was heavy, it was holding Nonamé back from her true potential 🤣
How far South ? Brizil ( sp)
One day but not yet! Headed to the Caribbean 🤘

It's not logical captain trout. Why would anybody want to go south for Winter ! Why, why, why, mister Trout? Why do you persist:-)
