ha ha. nice compliment. I can make an entire 1-hour video on Covid-19 since I've been researching it for 2 months for my travels around the world. But... it's best I don't. RC is life.
RC Review i took a g500 and turned it into a upgraded sport. Just finished the grc Ackerman setup and brass. It’s running super nice😎. Grc made a massive difference. Glad I found ur channel, it’s helped a lot honestly. Been into crawling less than a year and I love it! Thanks for doing what you do my dude🙏👏🤙
The optional gears for the straight axles are released if you want to try them in the transmission. Mine are on the way, now. Axial Racing 232033 Input Metal Gears 20T & 34T. Also comes with the two 27T gears that came with the kit, but it's the only way they are currently sold.
I'm sticking with the TRX4 for now. I have 2. The first one is a Defender with the HobbyWing AXE 550 3300kv and the other started life as a Mercedes 500 (got a great deal on it) but immediately after purchase was modified to accept a Killerbody LC70. It's running the stock motor with a HobbyWing 1080esc. For me the 2 speed transmission is the biggest draw to the truck and it seems Traxxas is still winning in that department. We don't have a lot of technical crawling around here and I'm too lazy to build my own course. Trail running and climbing red clay ditch banks is the thing around here. I start in first and try to "technically" crawl it, when this doesn't work a second gear "blast" to the top is the best way 😉. I won't knock the SCX 10 III. It looks like a great truck. 👍
We want that too. One of the issues with SCX10 ii is all the 2-speed and DIG gears are in the transmission, thus adding weight. This vehicle will perform better on tech is those can be omitted, just like the TRX4 Bronco vs. the Sport.
@@RCReviewChannel Weight is a good point too. It would be cool to see you compare them when/if they come out with a single speed. When you talked about removing the interior and cage for weight I thought it would look cool if the roof was trimmed off of the body like the axial 69 Blazer and the rear half of the cage removed for weight.
I was thinking of buying the axial, but I think I’ll stick with my craigslist search for a trx4. Love your videos, great reviews. Keep up the good work
Great info, thanks! I'm going to switch to the 11t pinion, since I'm not looking for blistering speed. I do agree Axial needs an optional trans gear set.
Like other comments I love my TRX too!!! Ready right out of the box!!! But I must say thank you for telling us the speed in mph instead of kph and me trying to figure the conversion myself!!! 😂 Thank You for all the great videos and information!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
That Dig is not ideal since the servo is so small and it cannot shift under power. Thus the vehicle needs to stop, interrupting flow and traction. And the application on ta Trail truck with an already great steering radius is not for many owners.
I love the scale details on the Jeep body , but if I want a two seed rig it will be trx4 or trx6. Maybe with the Axial Jeep body 🤔 . Thanks for the great info and videos
I’ll be going for the 11t most likely on my Gladiator when it arrives in the UK, we do quite technical climbing so low speed control is everything. It sounds like the micro servos burn out pretty much immediately anyway for the DIG or 2 speed! My first purchase has been Ottsix Baby Faces though, can’t wait to get hit by those import fees!
Nice review. Going to order an 11t pinion. For the moment I will keep the two speed since I built it already, I may end up locking it out though at some point.
I have a 27t Holmes 540 trailmaster in a 10.3 and just ordered an 11t pinion. Is this a good motor and gearing combo? I love all of your videos and have been a long time subscriber! Thank you!!!

Although i believe that if you buy the replacement primary transmission gears from axial it includes the optional straight axle ratio gear in the bag... then another lower transmission ratio becomes available to you for testing.. cheers mate.
Thanks! It seems the replacement gear set includes the extra transmission gears for the 1:1.7 conversion with straight axles. Look like the best option at the moment. Damn... already looking for options...

That is plenty different for a low range and a trail gear... no need for 15-20MPH... I don't like the huge jump to 2nd gear in the TRX4, makes first either too slow, or 2nd too fast... some might like it that way, but I think the Axial is perfect.... True. It's 40% higher speed and that simply isn't enough to justify the added cost, weight, cg, complexity. It seems like it was added to check a box on the feature list. That compromises performance and cost though and the gears cannot be removed to lighten.
My Gen 8 is faster, jk, it’s really not. This axial looks really popular. My question is do people really drive these trucks fast? I’m looking at a prerunner truck for going fast and jumping

@@RCReviewChannel I just installed the hot racing 2 speed transmission. What do you think about thst trans ? What’s your opinion ?
Traxxas kicked the Axials ass
I have both SCX10-3 and TRX4.... the 2 speed in the SCX10-3 is pointless as is. I will get a different gear set if anyone ever makes them.
True. It's 40% higher speed and that simply isn't enough to justify the added cost, weight, cg, complexity. It seems like it was added to check a box on the feature list.
That compromises performance and cost though and the gears cannot be removed to lighten.
That's embarrassing for Axial, you need about $500 to keep up, with that money you're about to spend, i'd move up to Vanquish instead.
My Gen 8 is faster, jk, it’s really not. This axial looks really popular. My question is do people really drive these trucks fast? I’m looking at a prerunner truck for going fast and jumping
Hello y'all
Keep seeing adds for what appears to be high quality rc but the price is for what you would get from walmart or RadioShack. Lol. It's a scam. Like an hmk 490 LC HD. An its only 40 bucks. Yea right. Its thousands. So people beware
I understand the scx103 is faster but hey use the same motor to compare this comparing with diff shit is getting old
2 speed, dig unit and here is your clicking problem
