Good tip on marking the txv stem, some of those txvs never seem to stabilize. I have the same Cooper thermometer, very accurate at .3deg can't beat it. Your 110% correct on double checking other people's work, even the factory. If it can go wrong, it will. Great video keep them rolling. It seams the techs that really love what they do are willing to help others. There was way too many insecure guys the field when I started, no help form most of them.

Just subscribed. Been enjoying the videos. Good tip on marking txv stem. If you did not have the wires to the condensing unit to break the tstat leg would you have mounted defrost inside at evaporator or do you ever just off cycle the condenser breaking a leg of contractor coil? Seen both ways.
MR. ICE hey man thanks for watching. Yes I would take the power from the evap downstairs and mount clock in the box and break the wire to Tstat and solenoid inside the box. Also yes , you can just break the leg to the contactor on the roof but when a solenoid is in the system it won’t be able to pump down if you just broke the leg to the contactor coil . I’m new to the trade, but good call on checking new units or equipment. I got a new set of manifold gauges and they started leaking up by the handle on the high side. Tightened up the nut and they worked great afterwards. Love the videos man, very informative, keep it up.
I just put the same style condenser in but for a walk in freezer. You mentioned the old condenser was bigger. Did it have a semihermetic recip. comp in it? Them babies run for ever. Now a days customers are on a budget and go for the tin can compressors. But with the right work the tin cans last a long time as well. But nothing like the semi hermetic.
Jacob Nesbit hey man I’ve always had the 2 valve ones. Never had the 4 valve. I’ve used the 4 valve before. I find the manifold is too big for what I like , I just used shut off valves on my hoses that you can buy separately .
The9oh3Rider it can be ok if they have some frost at times but they should not be a block of ice . Freezers the tubes will get frosty but shouldn’t be frozen solid

Hey just was the old condensing unit r22 if so did you change the nozzle in the distributor because the r22 nozzle is different from the rest?
