The Universe's First Planets [4K]

  • How old is the oldest planet? When did the first planets form in the universe? And what about life-supporting worlds? These are some of the most complex questions in extrasolar-planetary science. But by studying the ancient exoplanets in the Milky Way galaxy, we've managed to build up a comprehensive picture of when the genesis planets formed, and what they were like. Those findings make up the content of our video today.

This is why most of my viewing these days are various channels here on RUclips. Broadcast/cable TV is mosty garbage these days, especially since the rise of "reality TV". Here, I can find videos which inform and can hold my interest.

    • @koharumi1

It is because they are trying to get maximum profits. So everything from the good channels has turned into "reality tv shows" or spitting out conspiracy theories. That is what earns the most for them.
Or whoever is at top management decided science isn't worth it anymore.
At least in America I believe this is happening.

I'm 50 now and feel like I'm living in the future, watching this it's like star trek , planets!
When I was a child we could only dream about planets and now we know there everywhere.
It will be like star trek ! We will be going there , technology and science is increasing at a rate that's now uncontrollable , I envy the future , I want to be there!!!!!!!!!
    Brilliant post 🪐

I'm 45 and the technology kind of crept up on me. One day it just hit me that I'm living in the future and everyone's suddenly got a Star Trek gadget.
I now understand what my late grandma meant when she said "You don't realise what a miracle the telephone is. I can speak to someone in another country!". Me being 7 years old didn't see anything special about it, I just thought she was easily impressed.
Now I'm impressed more every day, while my son doesn't give a second thought to mobile phones and 24h internet access. It's the most natural thing in the world for him.

THIS is what I wish all documentaries were like! I don't even have a diagnosed seizure disorder and there have been docco's that I really wanted to watch but couldn't look at because every scene had ten cuts that all involved a loud noise and a flashing light. I lasted half an episode and even then every cut made me wince. One of the medical docs I tried to watch had flashing siren lights up the sides the screen the whole time. I lasted ten minutes on that one. Your videos should be mandatory viewing for anyone starting out making docco's. Thank you so much! I can actually watch, listen & hear what you're saying without feeling like I'm about to have a fit or something. Joins the ranks of my favourite documentaries - alongside RPA & most of Attenborough - good company ^_^

The thought that we somehow formed from molecules on a rock that’s literally spinning and seemingly held up by the gravitational pull of the sun, in a universe that is billions of light years across in either direction is just mind boggling no matter how often these beautiful videos explain it. Then there’s the question of what holds the universe up? I can’t imagine a solid border where things just end so then what?
I love letting my mind go down this rabbit hole and being more awe struck each time.

Scientists have noticed that the universe kind of looks a human brain neurons…Maybe we’re part of something’s brain? God? Idk. Fun theory
