By far the best video I've ever seen of the great demodara loop. The angle, clarity and the capturing is awesome and extraordinary. Beautiful narration too. Keep up the excellent work. Beautifully done and the quality of the video is outstanding. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
When my father is to work at St. Clair's Tea Estate as Head Tea Maker/Taster, during our summer holidays, rest of the family travel to my dad's place every summer to which we all look forward to and enjoy every minute of it. Most of the days, after lunch, we take cut sugar canes and sit in one of the rocks facing St. Clair Falls and enjoy the train travel just far away playing hide and seek - since we were very young. Priceless Memories !
@@kingsexploits Thanks and yes keeping an eye on something like that. But exchange rate has gone over the roof making it impossible to get one at present. Hopefully it'll go down sometime in the future and be affordable.
Dear Sri... many many thanks for this clip. And much more for your most valuable advice. I'm an ardent train fan. This is a superb video that you have done. Our little country has so much to offer. But a little bunch of lunatics do so much of irreversible harm. Its sad. Nevertheless, your video reminded me that our motherland is still the most beautiful country anyone has ever seen.
Hi Indrajith, thanks for stopping by and enjoying it. Well, it is not just a small bunch, in fact only a small bunch of people really care for our country. So I'm trying to spread the message across while doing the videos. Hopefully something good will come out of these
Thanks - Not interested in views to be honest. I'm running this channel in order for me to check these videos in the future when I'm too tired to go hikes. There's no way I can save them in a computer or hard drive so RUclips helps me with this.
Yea, I noticed it Sri W. Both Podi and Uda are operated with S12 and M6. Of course the mighty M2 lost it's glory of power due to wear and tear but the majestic look and sound is still holding!
Of course and they're a lot older compared to M6. They were brought down in the 50s whereas M6 came in the 70s. It's surprising they're still running at all
This looks like a toy train on our custom made track so much fun to watch I had a big train set when i was a kid the engine send out some aswell Thanks for the video And can you explain me why this loop is for ???
Ha ha, toy train... This footage is taken about 1000ft above and 2+km away in a straight line. Well the loop was built to counter the sharp gradient of the terrain. More details en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demodara_railway_station

though 4 years passed,
out of the many videos on Demodara loop found in RUclips, this is the best. Thank you.
Glad to hear. Thanks a lot
thank you for the video, this one helped to understand the loop clearly.
Hi Ishan, thanks for your comment and glad this was useful in figuring out one of the most ingenious engineering marvels in SL.

Hi simple a great video. I went to see the loop in January 2020. When I was in Sri Lanka. Little bit disappointed. I cannot go home this year.
Thanks and hope you'll be able to come soon. Stay safe
Your video fully justify the marvelous nature and human endeavour to conquer it
Thanks a lot and I'm glad to hear this.
Best video
Thx
We can see the train do the loop neatly,
And, having done it, sail away fleetly.
Yeah, was lucky to spot it like that
GREAT IDIA FROM A ANCIENT SRI LANKAN
Yeah, a great person who's done a lot of good work for this country

Was I imagining it or where there two guys riding on top of the locomotive?
You probably mistook the exhaust pipe in the middle. Nobody was on top of the engine.
Sri Abeywickrema this is incredible. A perfect aerial view. Can I know where exactly in Ella you get this aerial view at?
Hi Amashi, thanks a lot and glad to hear you enjoyed it. Apologies for not revealing the location.
Visited the place two days ago. Good video. Thanks.

Wow... Fantastic video. It would have been much better for M2 Canadian loco going through this famous loop.
