As a huge fan of The Mick, I still believe wholeheartedly that Trout is the best to ever do it. Mantle is the only player that is even close and that's just astonishing
I know Mantle is the legend, but I think Mays is the gold standard personally, and I hope thats who trout catches someday

Been a huge fan of baseball all my life, have gone deep into the history of the game... That being said, as a student of this amazing game. Mike Trout is by far the best player I've ever seen or heard of or read about. The only player that is even in that ultra rare category other than himself is The Mick (Mantle). But Trout is the better player. When you are already the best to ever play the game and you're only 26 you've put yourself into a category that transcends the "once in a generation and lifetime" lists. No player is more consistent, skilled/talented, and works harder than Mike Trout. Here's hoping that the Orioles can get supremely lucky with our prospects for the next two seasons and offer Trout 500 million over 15 years to play here. When you look at what he does on and off the field, this man is an absolute beast of a human being. I would love to be able to take my son to almost every game and let him grow up watching the best player ever. Truly one of the rare sports professionals that is worthy of being a role model to young kids.
And yes the years are set to 15. This guy, if he stays healthy, will still be one of/if not the best player in the league in his 40's. I personally want Trout to play until he's 50 and to break every (positive)record in the game... though I doubt anyone will ever break the Iron Man's record, it just isn't done like that anymore, which is smart and sad at the same time.
Every player in any sport should aspire to be like MIKE TROUT, the guy hustles every play, every at bat, every time he is in the game, never seen him disrespect anyone in any way, self deprecating and just seems to be a Great Guy and teammate, I wish I could play on his team.
Everyone is talkin smack about the angels and how trout won't win with them. But with our new manager Brad Ausmus and Doug White as our new pitching coach,I think things are gonna change and we should do way better this season.

Been an angels fans for awhile and as much as I want trout to stay an angel...if the angels don't do any big moves and do well the next 2 years postseason wise...trade him to a team that will help him get there. He's done a lot for this team and he deserves better and I will always be a fan of him.

Trout is a Phenomenal player. Ther are greatness in all sports but this kid does it every year. On and off the field, he's heaven sent.

Trout plays in a pitchers park, with mostly pitchers parks in his division, no one one base when he bats, little lineup protection... and is still a god among men.

Sadly, Trout's 39HRs, .312 B.A. league leading .460 OBP and 1.088 OPS... produced only 79 RBI. As the Angels finished 80-82 far out of the pennant race. A sad testimony to the lack of a supporting cast... of his LAA teammates.
