    I absolutely love mine, I can’t recommend using them on an icy day or you might see your ancestors a bit early

      Can't agree more! Every time someone says the SFB is a good firm snow ski (believe me, it happens), I just can't help but worry about their sanity. Such a fantastic ski, but certainly not meant for icy conditions.

    SFB is one of the best Powder Skis that can also be used for park skiing imo, although it’s certainly not good on icey or hard packed stuff, people tried telling me that despite me owning one…
    But for sure one of the most versatile skis I’ve had and definitely the most fun!

      I have vivid memories of my first experience on the Bacon in the woods here in Stowe--very floaty and maneuverable, but agree, that once you get it back on to the firmer trails, there are certainly better options. But overall, a ton of fun!

    Such a classic!
    Will you guys be doing the Line Outline? Havent seen it in this channel before :)

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 года назад +1

      We didn't have it in our formal Ski Test, but we would LOVE to do an Outline review. It's one of those skis we have to wait for a certain type of day with a certain quality of snow, but we'll do our best to make it happen, mostly because it would be SO MUCH FUN!

    These skis are so good. love them to bits, if only they didnt break every few months and had a slightly stronger core.... I believe the reckoner 102 is like the SFB but slightly stronger and also not sketchy in icy conditions?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Год назад +1

      I'd say they're pretty comparable. The use of carbon makes them a bit grippier, but mainly at higher edge angles. While neither are particularly great in icy conditions, I would say the K2 has more bite.

    Would you recommend these to someone who mostly skis in Ny but takes 2-3 trips a year to VT and one trip a year out west? Rn I use bent 90s for everything

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  10 месяцев назад

      I'd say they're on the wide side to be replacing a Bent 90, which is considerably more suitable to your application. If this is a soft snow complement, then it's great, but as a one ski option, I'd stick to skis more in the ~90 mm range.

    • @eitanpak5627
      @eitanpak5627 10 месяцев назад

      Yea it would be in addition to the bent 90s not replacing

    Would you recommend those to some who has been learning to ski in powder since last year. I been trying with my k2 mindbender 90 but doesn’t do great job. I’m looking for ski which will do well in powder and also will be able to get on the piste in the resort. I’m 102kg

      @SkiEssentials  Год назад

      Actually, yes! I think this would be a great ski for someone just starting to ski powder. The soft flex pattern is going to make it very forgiving, and there's a ton of float. It will be far easier for you than your MB 90. Hope that helps!

    Thanks for the review ! How do these compare to Rossignol Blackops 98 ?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  8 месяцев назад

      The Bacon is considerably more flexible. Blackops has a fairly high performance ceiling while the biggest strength of the Bacon is the flex and playfulness. I like the Bacon for floating through deep snow in trees, but the Blackops has more all-mountain feels to it.

    Hello, what about Bacon vs K2 reckoner 112 or vs bent 110? In the rewiews they are look same.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Год назад +2

      Yes, similar. Bacon, amazingly, is a bit more flexible, and has concave tips and tails to make it even surfier--smoother even than the Bent 110. The Reckoner, amazingly, is the burliest of the three thanks to the carbon application--I like the way this ski performs at higher edge angles while the other two skis operate better on a flatter plane.

    Hello, how would they compare To the Salomon qst 106? I am an advanced skier,skied all my life, 183cm and 70kg looking for a powder ski that i can manuver easily and that is very floaty. I enjoy a bit more centered ski position (not true center). I am looking At 104-108mm and these and the qst are the two options that i have in mind. Would really appreciate the help. Thankssss

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  8 месяцев назад

      The Bacon is a lot more maneuverability and floaty with that more central position. It's now the Bacon 108 and the same basic theory applies--nice flex in the tips and tails and pretty sturdy underfoot. The QST is stiffer from tip to tail and does really well in crud and chop, but the Bacon really hits home when it comes to agility and flotation.

      First of all thank you for the quick answer and all the great content you make! #1, i was reviewing all skis that were powdery, and also saw de Line vision 108, the bacon seem a bit too soft, and also think that the old bacons were better thats this years. Do you think the vision is also a great option for what i am seeking??

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  8 месяцев назад

      @@spalazzi94 It's not quite as flexible as the Bacon, but it's pretty light! That's the outstanding characteristic about the Vision 108.

    Great review as always! I just picked up a pair of 2022 SFB, cant wait to try them out. My daily drivers are enforcer 93s and I love them. I picked up a pair of enforcer 110s so i could have a wider option, but those things are just too much for me and I decided to try something on the opposite side. I also picked up a pair of 2020 Sky 7s so ive got a bit of everything. What do you think about that set for a 3 ski quiver? I have also been eyeing some bent chetler/bent 100s and have also been looking into the rustler 10s, how do you think those line up? For some reference, im in the PNW (washington) so it alot of that heavy "powder"

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Год назад +1

      That's going to be a lot of fun! SFB is such a cool ski. Super soft and playful, so some limitations, but there's really nothing else like it. Enforcer 93 you can ski fast on, SFB will be a playful powder/jibby ski, then Sky 7 is like your technical, tight terrain ski. Definitely going to let you customize things on a given day, even just based on how you're feeling. I feel like Rustler 10 would be a better addition than Bent 100. Rustler is stronger and with more vibration damping, so would further differentiate from the Sky 7 than the Bent 100 would. Hope that helps!
