    Thank you for this grilling experience showcasing the Kalorik Max Grill, I started my day by calling the Kalorik company about their earlier model that I had for three years now, and all was well till I went to open the door to bake some mini muffins and the French door wouldn’t open, the mechanism that opens them was jammed up or something. I called Kalorik customer service only to find out there wasn’t much they could do for since it’s past 1 yr warranty but they said that they had a video they can send about the door issue.. I gave my email to send it, but after viewing, it wasn’t helpful at all. So now I have a perfectly working Kalorik but can’t use it because I can’t open doors wide enough to get the bake pan out which is totally at the bottom which isn’t good because most things will burn easily in that area. I called HSN to see if I had protection plan, I didn’t😢 I explained what happened to it and how last year I was about to buy another one but since I know that there’s door issues I’m not so sure I will.. she said “I think that we happened to have the Kalorik on sale as “ today deal” at $159.99…plus a $15.00 coupon off that but today only. Of course despite my disappointment about my last Kalorik oven, I just couldn’t pass up this great deal!!! I went online and it surprised me that it wasn’t the same one I had but it was a new and improved one with the Grill feature! I gladly ordered one that will arrive by 3/26/23 I can’t wait to try out mine. Hope I have the same success grilling chicken and steaks as you did with yours. And I certainly will be more careful with those doors now that I know how delicate & sensitive that they are!😂😂

      You are very welcome Denise. Thanks so much for checking out my channel. I have heard of others having issues with the doors jamming up. That is unfortunate for sure. That's awesome that you have the grill version coming your way. That is a great deal for sure. The only thing that I have learned since getting the device is when grilling chicken or steak it is best to cook the pieces 5 minutes per side. If the meat is not up to temperature I move it into the AF basket, remove the grill, turn on oven/bake mode at 450 and let it continue until the meat reaches temperature. If you don't already have one an in oven temperature probe is highly recommended.

    I just got one of these as a gift at Christmas, and I'm very excited to use it. The only thing that irks me is that there's nothing I can put under the grill to prevent food from dripping juices on the bottom of the oven...It would be nice to not have to wipe that everytime. Have you figured out a solution to this since it says we should not use foil paper in the device?

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  Год назад +5

      I hope you enjoy your new device. It should never drip on the bottom of the oven. It should drip onto the crumb tray that sits on the bottom of the oven. It's difficult to get everything off the crumb tray if not next to impossible. I have heard of people wrapping the tray in foil but since it is against the manufacturer's recommendations it is not something that I ever do. One thing I will say is after you cook almost anything whether it's on the grill or otherwise it is of the utmost importance to wipe the walls and back down inside of the oven with something like Dawn power wash. Reason being is if you let it go beyond one cook the next time you cook it really polymerizes and is very difficult to get off.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 года назад

      Thank you very much! That's definitely a very good question. I'm thinking it could probably work. I have one cast iron piece that I just may try it out with. I'm thinking if I heat up the grill with the cast iron on the grill then once it is preheated just crack the egg in the skillet as usual. In theory it sounds good. The only concern that comes to mind is the air frying fan. Since the grill is at the bottom maybe it won't affect it so much. Otherwise the eggs are going to run.

      I'm not sure why that would be so long as you are doing everything the same way I am doing in this demonstration. The only things I could mention are the obvious like making sure the grill grate is installed the correct way where the cutouts on the bottom are covering the heating elements properly. Also making sure that you are in Grill mode and not steak mode. So long as those check out and you are preheating like you mentioned then I really don't have an answer.

      I like peanut oil because it is in neutral flavored oil and handles high heat very well. Other oils like vegetable oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, avocado oil and a couple others can be used as well since they are neutral and handle high heat. Anything except olive oil is my rule of thumb.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  Год назад

      It is fairly odorless but not absolutely odorless. As far as smokeless goes that all depends on what you are cooking. For instance if you are cooking chicken, chicken fat has a smoke point of 380°. If you cook the chicken higher than that temperature then you will have smoke. Generally speaking I do not notice smoke when I cook but I am very mindful about what I am cooking and what temperatures I am cooking them at.

      @@kaycoffey3368 I honestly have not cooked a leg quarter on the grill. I will say that when I cook chicken on the grill I try to stay at around 380 degrees to avoid the chicken fat causing smoke which will happen if it's cooked too hot. Make sure the grill has completed the preheat. I recommend cooking the chicken five minutes on one side and then flip it over. After 5 more minutes you should hit it with an instant-read thermometer to see where it is at. I have a feeling it won't quite yet be 165 degrees. If it is not yet at 165° then cook it the remainder of the way until it has reached 165 degrees. Put the chicken in either the bake tray or air fryer basket into the regular airfryer slot. Turn on air fry mode at 380 degrees and probe it every so often until it reaches. Hopefully you have an instant-read thermometer or similar.
