I love Lufia II so much. Everything about it was masterfully done and everyone who ranks it alongside FF6 and Chrono Trigger and Earthbound is 100% correct. Excellent run, too!
1:42:20 Even at 3am, Sent is still likely to pop out from behind something and talk about prizes! 🤣 Amazing run of an icon of a video game. And happy birthday Puwexil!
The glorious return of Puwexil to the GDQ stage. So happy to see it. Puwexil and Essentia's FF6 and Chrono Trigger runs got my into enjoying speedrunning.
I am not sure if you know, but this game HAS a remake. It is a 3DS game called "Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals". Sadly, it is not a turn based RPG but an Action RPG, yet the broad plot points are all intact. And just like in true Lufia 2 fashion, there is a New Game+ mode. Without spoiling anything, it is completely worth the time investment to see how the New Game+ ends ;)
That was such a weird game... Just the fact that they chose remake a cult classic 16 bit RPG as an 3D action / puzzle RPG for the NDS is already weird enough, but then the story was more or less butchered, and the gameplay started out OK but fell apart pretty badly after a while, both in terms of puzzles and combat.

Puwexil the RPG GOAT
This was so much fun. Thank you for being such a fantastic runner to host for and happy birthday, Puwexil!
One of the SNES' hidden gems for sure. The music still goes hard.
Many thanks to puwexil and the GDQ team for doing such a great job so far this year.
Heck yeah, one of my all-time favorite games. Love this.
Happy bday puwexil, always enjoy your runs

I strongly agree this game is absolutely amazing and is underrated
Gyre and Puwexil, great run on rpglimitbreak on the FFlegend games.
Super Lufia 2 run here too.
The legend, himself!
"World's Most Difficult Trick" at 3:20:27
The greatest JRPG on snes. Great runner as well.
Have you played Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 6?
Yes, it’s better than both of those.
The greatest rpg of all time. Game was definitely ahead of its time. They need a remake with extras
No it isn't. Not even close actually.
This is my absolute favorite game of all time and I never hear people talk about it so I'm so happy it's on sgdq this year
Lufia 2 is a testament to how good 'block pushing puzzles' can be when the designers are clearly putting it all into puzzle design. Great game.
Classic game, classic runner. Cheers all around!
Cant wait to watch this later!
Nice! My fav SNES Jrpg. Even just watching, the ending got me so emotional...!!!
Really wish we could get a return for this series, still one of my favorite SNES games for sure probably 2nd or 3rd favorite SNES RPG.
Happy Birthday! This game is simply beautiful. Give OST a listen here on YT. It is fantastic.
This run has old school GDQ vibes, nice!
We love Puwexil, don't we folks?
The world’s most difficult trick has the world’s most chill music 😂
It's to help pacify the rage

that game is so good!!!! a hidden gem
Great run!

puwexil runs are always a must watch.
I love watching puwexil crush my favorite childhood RPGs, especially at GDQ and Lufia 2 is for sure one of the greats in the snes library.
Puwexil shares my birthday?! Happy birthday!!
An amazing run. Can't believe the instant "For the Savior" starts I start crying. Every effing time haha
2:23:08... I mean Lufia IS in Lufia II, technically. I won't spoil the twist of the first game tho.
i used to play the game nonstop for a month 20 years ago on my pc
Such a fun and chill run
My love is my sword! lol
3:19:20 Road to the worlds most difficult puzzle
3:20:39 The puzzle begins
where is the bonus incentive run??
Wish they do a new 3d or 2d remake of this game. I so want this game as remake

incentive puzzle at 3:20:27 (afewmistakes)
Lufia 2 is awesome!
damn this makes me want to learn this run
I love how the community pretends the remake doesn't exist and just go back to the original🤣
It doesn't, there is only the OG

@@jmsytbedidn't know there was a remake, but everything you said is not good to hear and now I'm glad I didn't know or played it😂
You monsters! How could you end the video during that ending.... Great Run though!
You didnt feed Foomy the entire run, you monster... 😂
I always play this game at 150% speed so hearing the music at 100% speed sounds so slow.
1:59:00 Sabertooth Lion? LOL
Puwexil rpg legend
Lufia 2 is the GOAT
Hear me out: But what if Lufia was a girl?
I'm listening...
Oh nice, a good quick speedrun
Some day, we _gotta_ get an Ancient Cave run.
