This is exactly why we need to continue to have debates - I understand these still can be all about soundbites, but "stuff" like this comes out in a debate and gives real time opportunity to address the issue. Nakita, I admit the idea of a FEMALE woman of color as head of Georgia Agriculture makes me giggle and giving you a high five! You have my vote!
I'm also an independent who leans conservative. Mrs. Hemingway's voice is one that needs to be heard. Was not expecting this. . .
Nakita just smashed her way into the agriculture commissioner job! That's why she has my vote!

We need a federal law banning non u.s. citizens from buying, and owning farmland, and land near all military bases. Enough is enough. American first. 🇺🇲

You can see his anxiety and anger in him cgewing his lip when asked about his connections and the failures of his legislation

Amazing, this Tyler Harper guy doesn't actually answer any questions at all. For example:
"Mr. Harper, how would you prepare the Georgia Farmers in the face of hotter and dryer climates due to climate change?"
"As a 7th generation farmer and with all my experience, we will make sure we have the right policy and regulation in place. I have so much experience and background".
That's his default answer for everything. Eh. I can answer that🙄
In 13 mins and I’m seeing him polish his resume over and over…
Jebus. Terrifying that the guy who has been representing this state is the least impressive by a mile.
"The first farmers in the United States were African American, dark skin, like me?" There was a whole culture Native American farming that developed half of what are now the world food crops before the European settlers came or Africans were brought over through the slave trade. When the US was formed, there were white and Black farmers working when the declaration was signed and when the Cornwallis surrendered to Washington.
Two of then seem potentially competent. I don't want someone whose big issue is cannabis. I think it has legitimate uses, but there are enough people you told to who sound like they have been smoking something already.
