I was so blessed to have a Grandmother like her and she raised me and my brother after my mother died and she was my mother’s mother and my father was devastated and he couldn’t take care of us. So my Grandmother at the age of 73 took care of us and we had the most amazing life because of her. My ex husband now and I moved from Baltimore where we grew up to Oregon for six years. We made a lot of friends and when we were planning our wedding we were aware that either way our Baltimore family and friends or our Oregon friends would have to travel. We were engaged in Las Vegas so we decided to find a wedding venue that the locals would use because we wanted a very traditional wedding not a normal wedding in Vegas might be. We were so grateful that we had 156 people came to our wedding and we had the very best wedding and reception we could have wished for. Also our guests could entertain themselves and have a good vacation with our wedding included. I said that I would get married there only if my Grandmother could come to the wedding. I’m actually in the long term care industry and I’m a Geriatric Specialist. I was working in a nursing home at this as Director of social services so I hired one of my nursing assistants to fly with us to Vegas and she would take care of my grandmother while we were there. I didn’t have my parents so my younger brother( who is my best friend and we are still so close) walked me down the isle and we danced to I’ll be there by Mariah Carey and of course I had my first dance with my husband. Half way through the reception the DJ announced that I had a special dedication to the most special woman in the world and they wheeled my grandmother onto the dance floor and we helped her stand up and I dedicated this song to her. I was so very grateful that my ex husband and I moved back to Baltimore three years before she passed away at 96 years old. I have pictures and I am just crying my eyes out during this song because she was whispering those words in my ear. It’s still one of my favorite moments of my life and when she passed away leaving the funeral home to go to the church we played this song. My Grandmother was fully Italian and we are catholic and I had my ex father in law who has an amazing voice sang the other song that I dedicated to my Grandmother and that is Ava Maria and she loved that song as well. I very much believe that I’m in the Geriatric field and I have my degree in Geriatrics and healthcare management and an extra two years to have my Specialty in Alzheimer’s and dementia Care and I am the woman that I am because of my grandmothers love, support, and always believing in me and I will always be her princess and it’s been eleven years since she passed away I still miss her everyday. I, as an older guitar player, would like to know what the expression ''old school'' means. Using the word ''school'' implies some particular way of doing something. Logically ''new school'' guitar players are doing something different to ''old school''. Now when I analyze and work out the structure of modern songs I find that the guitar players are using the same scales and chords that I am familiar with. Therefore the expression old school or new school still baffles me. If it just means old then just say old I have no problem with that.

Wow, this came out in 1978, and I went on a crazy road trip with a couple of friends, and this song got so much airplay it was insane. We always looked forward to the extended version because it is so beautiful. I just learned that Lionel wrote this about his mom. He told a contestant on his Idol audition that he wrote it for her. This song is as good now as it was then. He is such a great guy on top of being a beautiful singer, excellent song writer, "Lady" to be specific, because he was devastated when Kenny Rogers passed away because they were such great friends. Kenny asked him to go to something with him and Lionel was like "why me"? and Kenny said "because you're my best friend". Seeing them singing together is proof of their friendship.

I, as an older guitar player, would like to know what the expression ''old school'' means. Using the word ''school'' implies some particular way of doing something. Logically ''new school'' guitar players are doing something different to ''old school''. Now when I analyze and work out the structure of modern songs I find that the guitar players are using the same scales and chords that I am familiar with. Therefore the expression old school or new school still baffles me. If it just means old then just say old I have no problem with that.

Wow, this came out in 1978, and I went on a crazy road trip with a couple of friends, and this song got so much airplay it was insane. We always looked forward to the extended version because it is so beautiful. I just learned that Lionel wrote this about his mom. He told a contestant on his Idol audition that he wrote it for her. This song is as good now as it was then. He is such a great guy on top of being a beautiful singer, excellent song writer, "Lady" to be specific, because he was devastated when Kenny Rogers passed away because they were such great friends. Kenny asked him to go to something with him and Lionel was like "why me"? and Kenny said "because you're my best friend". Seeing them singing together is proof of their friendship.
