As a South Carolina native its always nice to watch you treck up and down snowy hills and terrain like that. Love the scenery, the purring volvo engine, and the commentary. Thank you for all you do mike. Its always fun riding shotgun.
I enjoyed this video so much ! I'm disabled now , but I used to run most states East to Texas. And North to Michigan out of Ga. My home in Rome, Ga. But had to leave trucking. My back and knees were getting too bad. Now just getting a small check from SSI. But still wish I could drive again. Your video touched me, so close to home. I might not be physically able but I still dream. GOD Bless and Keep you safe. Devil Stomper here! .
It must require a lot of patience to do your job. Something I lack. I love these snow videos the most. With the sound of the engine, wipers wiping, blinker blinking and your voice...it puts me to sleep more than any ASMR. Thanks, Mike, for taking the time to make these videos. God bless and keep safe.
I'm impressed by your patience. Even when the super spazz hit you with his flood light, you just stayed calm and waited for your opportunity to start passing again.
I really admire all the men and women who drive these rigs and deliver goods across the country in all kinds of weather. I couldn't do it! Thank you, truckers!
I hate driving in snow, you make it look so routine. Great videos,Thanks for keeping our country going. If it weren't for drivers like you out every day and night risking your lives we could not enjoy all the comforts we have at home.. Thanks and stay safe
First off I want to thank you for all your videos. You inspired me to drive. I like how you don't get on here complaining about everything you just make driving an adventur. For the longest time i'd go home from my factory job and watched your videos just about everyday, I've been driving for 8 months now and whenever I see a quality truck I look for the hanging chicken in the window. Don't be surprised one day if you get a holler from me on the radio.
I'm not enteirly sure what you were doing wrong when the pickup blocked you, as you know more than me, with good snow tyres and in fresh snow, sometimes the best grip can be found in the white stuff. Great videos.
Love watching you drive. Learning from you eventhough I'm just an old four wheeler. Have a nephew and a close friends who are truckers. Don't stop teaching people how to drive. Before watching you, I didn't know what a lineator was. Stay safe out there. Peace! Old Georgia girl where the ice gets ya
I've nevet seen so much snow on that part of the freeway between Cedar City and St. George. Definitely unusual and you are brave. Keep up the great driving and commentary. Enjoy it immensely!
4:24am, I have a cup of hot tea and dessert so excited to ride shotgun in the snowy conditions. Pass 'em on the right....what a jerk turning on their YELLOW lights....Now Mike I have never yelled so much at a darn screen as I did this morning ...Thanks Mountain Man Mike
There are some strange people out there. One afternoon I was in Virginia going through the hills and there was a guy in the left lane keeping pace with a semi doing exactly 65 mph in a 70 mph zone. He was driving a little pickup truck with a cap on the back and he would not let anyone pass. Anytime someone would get up on him he would throw his flashers on and start bobbing and weaving acting spastic. Well, after about 10 mi of that crap I had had enough and I know it's one of the biggest no-nos but I passed the guy on the shoulder of the road just to get by him, the guy was flipping me off and acting like he was out of his mind when I went by him. I don't know what's the matter with some people. And it was a nice clear sunny day like 80° so I don't know what his problem was.
Go for snow we been watching your channel mike and I wanted to say this is awesome what you do I traded my dreams for the open road to raise my kids while my wife served 20 years in the army maybe one day I’ll be able to drive but until then I can ride along with you on your trips thanks for all do delivering products all over the states what up truck drivers America would stop and a lot of people don’t realize that keep on Truckin brother I’ll always be haters out there keep doing what you love to do
The thing that bothers me at almost 70 years of age is....despite that FACT that Trucking is ESSENTIAL to this or any nation....I hurt me to see how the business has been treated...and the reputation of the truck driver is diminished. We used to be Urban Legends. People used to trust us to help them drive on the highway in bad weather. When I was 6...my father followed the various trucks going east, all night, all the way to Boston on family vacation. Don't ask me how I remember that. That was 1960........be well.........
P.S, I used to drive a high vehicle which also had $WD, so spent a LOT of time here in NZ driving the Otago/Souhland areas during the depth of many a winter's night in which I encountered many a snow storm, or EXCEEDINGLY THICK "pea-soup" fog. After driving for many years previous with a car with roof mounted high-beam driving lights, I can attest to the difference they make, when falling water/snow or dense fog is about. Even during the day when the sunlight is obscured. TURNING OFF, the main vehicle lights that are producing a glare into the inclement weather BETWEEN your eyes and the road, having a set of MUCH higher mounted driving lights (or as I later fitted, bright yellow fog lamps) - having the LIGHT higher above me, meant I could easily see the road and everything off to each side, a WHOLE HEAP EASIER, and further away, than trying to view anything through low mounted fog lights - or even through low mounted dip/mains. The problem being in most instances being that you do NOT need to have a reflection bouncing back from anything between you and the ground, which occurs when the lights are partway between your "height" and the road, so - consider mounting "high-on-cab" driving lights (good for clear weather long haul driving) that can be operated completely independently of your main headlights (either dip or main beams), so that when you encounter VERY HEAVY/DENSE fog & snowfalls (even heavy rain/sleet), you can LIGHT-UP the overhead falling crap, which will in turn bounce the glare back down onto the road, and not UP into your eyes. Try it, you may like it as much as I did. Plus on a clear night, having lights mounted high above, removes all those nasty DARK dips in the road ahead, as you will never be higher than the lights.
Sir Mike !!!! Great run !!! Yepper !!! Gots to be on your toes for the ones that want you to be in their mirrors instead of getting out of the way !!!! Ain't just a WESTERN thing either !!! Enjoyed the ride & ""KEEP IT SAFE""!!!
I moved out of the states 8 years ago to South America. I take public transportation, but I still miss my little PT Cruiser. I so enjoy these videos because I feel as though I'm in the front seat.
I spent a lot of years and trucks but never had to deal with the weather so much man I can't pull myself away once I start riding with you and it's like I can't understand why because I ready to have a heart attack before the videos over LOL. You're a good driver thanks for sharing your vids
My whole working career as an electrician I thought about how nice it would be to be in a truck that’s warm in the winter cool in the summer there’s only one thing about driving a big rig that always kept me back that’s big cities and bad weather I don’t know how you drive that truck through all those snow covered mountains you have me on the edge of my seat I’ll tell you one thing that your channel definitely does it gives more respect to the guys drive in those big rigs you be safe keep the tours coming
4:30, I know it's 2 yrs old, but at that stage - you desperately needed new wiper blades, especially that one on the right of screen, as it's almost NOT even working, leaving most of the small clumps of ice/snow at the bottom of it's arc sweep. Not all replacement blades are equal, some are only made for wet summer city roads, others are made of more durable, stronger rubber, to tackle heavy snow & ice conditions. It sometimes also helps to have the demister ON at a high heat setting.
Those who don't love God are missing out on a good thing I'm not here to preach I'm just saying it's all your choice But however you Don't know what you're missing When it comes to serving Christ.
Geez that was scary, but you are so calm Mike. I love watching your videos, they are awesome and I really enjoy seeing the different scenery across the various states. Watching from Brisbane, Australia, stay safe and keep them coming.🇦🇺❤🤍💙🇺🇲
This drive showed your experience, your true ability, your skills. IN ACTION. thanks Mike for sharing. Weather man is saying New York 8/12 inches tomorrow night Feb.1 we well see . TAKE CARE MIKE
Buenos días me recuerda Salt Lake allá estuve de vacaciones pero por la pandemia me tuve que regresar y me recuerda a mi padre que también fue conductor pero de autobuses de pasajeros en México. Con el conocí casi todo México saludos y cuídate mucho
man oh man was i ever glad to see wet roads!!!! Only took 3 times to watch all this video. Seems like we were in the snow for HOURS!!! I don't think Mike has another video with so much snow and cars all over the road, but looking back Jan 25 was a huge snow system all over the southwest and in the mountains of CA also. Whew!! Now get to Las Vegas and do this all over again until you get it right. Always lots of fun. The only other one where i was more nervous was climbing the narrows on Vail Pass and gettting around that other trailer. Thanks for the ride, Mike. Be safe. See ya
As you drove, I sat and stitched along with a cuppa hot tea and lots of prayers. This mtnmawmaw saw a lot of DA's out there and may have muttered a few things in amongst my prayers. Stay safe out there truckers and thanks for delivering the goods.
Curious...having driven tandem 45' trailers in Upstate NY (aka Buffalo, Syracuse, etc.), and seen my share of BIG snow, your comments on how this road felt to you would be much appreciated. Given the spin-outs and the shininess of it, looked a bit wicked in places (?). But your were running quite fine, bulling some low RPM's by the sound of it....good tires? Heavy load?
I've had a flat dropping down into Beaver NB, driver side, 12 inches slushy snow. I was in shorts and flip flops. I was cover with snow after changing to limp into beaver. Awful lol
You truly are one in a million out there on these treacherous interstates with drivers whom shouldn't be on the road. It wasn't 'til you got into the actual right lane & pointed out the mile markers to the right, that I realized those drivers were in the middle of the road! In hopes you get some much needed rest after this is over. Peace be with you as well Mike.
Hi. I love your videos. Your dash cam is great. Could you please tell me what make and model it is. I would like to order one. Thanks for the great videos.
Them "Fake Cops" should in my opinion be driven off the roads and real cops allowed to identify them for court proceedings to follow. They are an endangerment to normal law abiding truckers and road users. Cheers Mike.
Does it get bad to the point you have to chain up? I'm thinking about getting with a company that does dedicated Utah routes but i'm used to southern routes. I have not once ever in my pathetic life had to chain up.
4:45... very hard to drive.... I had to go thru this in same location 2 weeks ago in my SUV and I live in s cal with hardly any snow experience... very unnerving with my 4 young girls in the car.. Anyways why does height give an advantage to truckers in these conditions?
great video! and, wow...... looks like a very frustrating drive - some real idiots out there. and the 2 pickups in particular - what a couple of A-holes. i'm always impressed with your patience.
Hi Mike, ☺, that was a frustrating journey whith all them road hogs, you must have the patience of a saint, lol, and 100% faith in your truck , see ya on the next one mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart.uk.
What kind of truck do you run? Seems like you run southwest and Rockies quite a bit. I drove 45 years Tri axle dump truck South west Pennsylvania all local I’m retired now I always dreamed of running the beautiful mountains and desert area I miss driving so much that is why I enjoy your channel and a few other it’s like sitting in the driver’s seat I drove a 18 speed Peterbilt best truck and transmission ever ❤❤❤❤❤😊
Tip for snow-packed wipers: Your goal is to, as much as possible, bring the 'temperture down' on the inside surface of your windshield to match the outside surface. The closer the match.. the more packed snow clinging to the blades will fall off.. and Mike, it works within a minute or two. Turn defrost on high.. no heat and roll down your window(s) and friend... watch that packed snow begin fall off. When learned, I was amazed.. sounds crazy huh... Great driving, thanks.
Got a question. Is it really safe to pass in the right lane? Also I understand you have more experience than anyone on the snow. But to blaze your own trail aren't you making it unsafe for for other drivers? I inderstad driving to your ability, but also drive for others and their conditions. Be safe for others.
Hi Mike: In the snowstorm, you have the advantage of height. I miss my Dodge B-300 van w/ the oversized rubber in the snow.. A touch more anti-freeze in the wiper fluid like rubbing alcohol. Much enjoy your night driving, especially in the snow. best to you in 2021.
When the two trucks passed you about 32:00, I thought they might have 4 wheel drive as you had suggested earlier, and remembered my electric 4-wheel drive option on my 150 Ford. In snow conditions like this, I preferred two wheel drive to make steering easier and independent of the driving wheels. I could use the throttle to keep the rear behind me and a light input on the steering to keep the front aimed straight without power over-ride. When the throttle and steering were combined, the steering suffered. When the driving wheels slipped, they all slipped and an offroad excursion resulted as did the pickup at 36:01. I, too, preferred the deeper snow for steering control. My Mustang tires are too wide for good snow control, so I stay home now, and enjoy the snow driving with you, riding shotgun. All the best to you and I'll see you at the creek.
Hi Mike Richard from PRESTON UK. Some great sights in US of A you have us thro, all of which I am never likely into see. But what a trucker. Great ride. Ever been to Topeka in Kansa? Only place I have been to sorting faulty machinery for Dunlop truck tyres. They are colossal.
as im finally settling in to watch this at 1am est,,,we are expecting a big snowstorm here in the northeast with 12-14 inches of heavy snow and wind gusts to 45mph..just starting light now..going to last into tues morn/afternoon...heaviest supposed to be mon noon to about 10pm...good times! not a fan of blizzard like conditions possible lol...but at least i dont have to go anywhere :)
It's very obvious you are an amazing truck driver. Not sure how many year's of experience, but I would have been gripping the seat, my feet bracing the floor and you would hear a peep out of a very talkative woman like myself when you had to pass the road hog's and some of the truckers with less experience and skill. The rest of the trip was great. I always loved driving in the snow. Never had any problems with rear wheel drive. And nothing beats a stick in the snow. Way more control. Have an awesome trip. Love hearing your commentary great tips too. Later.
Seems to me you’re driving faster than what’s prudent for the road conditions and other traffic. Your frequently lane changing, passing other, cars & trucks. Per your video, Conditions now near white out visibility ! Thank you for slowing down. Do understand your very likely a well seasoned ,safe and careful truck driver . Honestly you & others in your field, we share a great respect ! Our Nation could not function without short & long haul truck drivers just as much as our States/ Nations support transportation could not even begin to move any and everything consumers demand without the very backbone of goods transport : Our railway transportation system ! To the trucking industry for finite delivery. I’m requesting every driver on our National Highways & Byways ...whatever National freeway you may be on down to rural back country roads, ALWAYS take railroad/railway crossing seriously. ALWAYS respect Semi Truck drivers. Your not getting your groceries, Starbucks, any and whatever retail store restock supply without them. near train railways ALWAYS be respectful to our Nations transportation supply drivers ( Semi Truck Drivers) , RESPECT: Take railway crossing guards, crossing railway tracks seriously. Always obey rail traffic cross bucks and warning signals when a train is approaching.
Hey Mike. Thanks for showing what the PRO's Do while passing the amateurs who are only in it for the Bucks. Experience Always Wins as long as the 4 wheeler's respect the 18 wheelers. PEACE!

Mike , these are the video's that are the best to watch . Driving in the mountains , in the snow ....it's cool to watch .
I certainly was glad you were driving!
Yeah. My shoulders and neck would be so knotted up having to drive in that.
Me too!
First off I want to thank you for all your videos. You inspired me to drive. I like how you don't get on here complaining about everything you just make driving an adventur. I agree i was hooked today watching his great videos. One awesome guy!!
I'm not enteirly sure what you were doing wrong when the pickup blocked you, as you know more than me, with good snow tyres and in fresh snow, sometimes the best grip can be found in the white stuff. Great videos.
Damn straight. I'm always happy to be on snow instead of "clear road" with that hazy sheen on it. Hello black ice...
Your runnin too fast

Why does it look like you are trying to pass on the shoulder and why don't you stay in formation very unsafe i have been driving for 21 years
@@ABLEMOOSE56 It's a divided highway with two lanes going south. People were driving in the divider and not getting over as required by law.
P.S, I used to drive a high vehicle which also had $WD, so spent a LOT of time here in NZ driving the Otago/Souhland areas during the depth of many a winter's night in which I encountered many a snow storm, or EXCEEDINGLY THICK "pea-soup" fog.

I love your driving in the snow videos! ❤️❤️
Fabulous channel!
Loving going with you on the cam.

Love to watch your winter driving skills. Much Respect!!
Damn GOOD video thanks for the time and effort it took to bring it to us
Well done Mike, top drive as usual.
All the best, Dave in the UK
Tip for snow-packed wipers: Your goal is to, as much as possible, bring the 'temperture down' on the inside surface of your windshield to match the outside surface. The closer the match.. the more packed snow clinging to the blades will fall off.. and Mike, it works within a minute or two. Turn defrost on high.. no heat and roll down your window(s) and friend... watch that packed snow begin fall off. When learned, I was amazed.. sounds crazy huh... Great driving, thanks.
Hi Mike, Thanks for showing me the video! I hope that you’re safe and doing well. Again thanks!!
Damn... Mobbing thru that stuff like it’s no big deal! Your a Hell of driver Mike! 👏👏
Thanks for another exciting snow ride! Gripping the arms of my chair all the way. lol.....
Your videos are so relaxing. Thanks❤️👍🇨🇦✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
They don't keep up with the roads that well out there. There should be tandem plows with tandem sanders not far behind, in both lanes.
Let us know that you reached your destination safe and sound Mike... be safe... 🍀💞
I am always surprised by people being out in this, especially at night. For me, unless it’s an emergency, I’m at home. Not worth it
You have great eyesight and nerves of steel. Impressive!
as im finally settling in to watch this at 1am est,,,we are expecting a big snowstorm here in the northeast with 12-14 inches of heavy snow and wind gusts to 45mph..just starting light now..going to last into tues morn/afternoon...heaviest supposed to be mon noon to about 10pm...good times! not a fan of blizzard like conditions possible lol...but at least i dont have to go anywhere :)
That's the main thing, when you don't have to go out!
excellent job carving the right lane! no guts no glory! well done.
No!!!! Don't leave.this is awesome.❄🏔🏞🌯✌✌
Is 15 the one coming down outta Idaho towards Salt Lake City? Cause the road looks familiar as hell at night.
Yes it goes down through Utah south or North.
Great night driving video! You’re the king of that road!
Later.
Ride’n Heavy in The Hammer Lane, with the Mountain Man Mike.....what more would you want to be doing......Peace
You're the best MMM. You really drive that snow. I'm late for the shotgun seat it looks like. Let's ride anyway. I'll take the bunk. :)
You should get paid extra for driving in the snow!!
Hazardous duty pay.
Those guys get paid more because they are actually moving, not sitting at a truck stop.
Hey Mike. Thanks for showing what the PRO's Do while passing the amateurs who are only in it for the Bucks. Experience Always Wins as long as the 4 wheeler's respect the 18 wheelers.
PEACE!
No, he isn't a cop--just a bossy pain. I've come across these bullies allot, lately--very frustrating! Good to hear your voice, again.
Probably just a mall cop with too much free time on his hands.
