What are we going to do with it ? I have no clue. Also lost a race to Donna and visited a car show at a tech school. #project #car

In all seriousness, I bought my 19-year-old daughter a 2005 Honda Accorda. It now has 275,000 miles on it. All of the mechanics love it because of their durability, ease of maintenance, and prolific access to parts. It needs some TLC though and I am not a mechanic. My daughter, and her safety means everything to me. Please show us how you will fix your sisters car. One thing to look at is the front carpet to see if there is any wetness. With a sunroof, there is a hose that drains rainwater down the A-pillar? The drainage tube can get dried out, shrinks and/or cracks and the water drains into the floorboard. What are other things that I should be looking at on an old Honda? Repair prices around here at steep, $180/hour, so any cost saving measures is appreciated.
Were you able to figure out what the issue was with piston #8 in the racecar? Good luck this week!

I had an ‘06 civic that I did everything in, I mean everything. It pulled a trailer, carried all kinds of tools in the trunk - but most importantly, brought my daughter home in it 16 years ago. It was a little tank in the winter too, just kept chugging through all kinds of snow. Great cars but yeah bad paint, flaked the clear off the roof.

Good ole D17a2! have a couple 02 civics, really taught me how to "mekenek'. Awesome on gas but the git-up lacks a lil bit. Find or use parts from an EP3 or RSX(01-05). For basically everything you need to K swap, auto or manual. Donna's preference of course! If ya wunt Add a lil ouimph, too Donna's lil'red honda!
You taking your dog in the cars with you to move them is just the best. Not saying I can relate sneaking my beagle into my race car but if you even think about going for a ride they are as excited as all get out. Milly is such a sweetheart you can tell that she just loves you the way she stays by you watching the whole time in the shop. Love the racing and car content but having Milly there makes it all that much more awesome. Maybe one day we can get a Milly reaction video to her riding shotgun going on drag pulls, lol. There's a youtube video for all kinds of passengers in fast cars going fast but nobody has EVER done a Milly. Strapping her in would be hard I imagine but she would love it(or more likely be terrified of it), haha. Great content. Thanks again for sharing your life with us.

Jason Brazzel is a pretty good guy to help get your suspension setup right! He's done a lot of small tire stuff, but if you're dealing with Nick, you're in good hands. Nick is good for making carts work on bad surfaces along with his 200mph big tire 3rd gen he did race week with. He definitely knows his stuff! He's also a great guy!
Have Brent come down and turbo kit it. Just tell Donna it's a turbo whistle in the exhaust. 🤫
Ok I received my 4 stickers,the dogster backing paper is not slip so I can’t get the backing sticker paper off, ( you know like the backing paper on the stop on that loud pedal sticks ok)❤thanks BigAl California.

Pull the engine and trans and freshen them up.
Remove every single piece of the interior and replace it with
While the power plant is out clean the engine bay and repaint it.
Repaint on the outside red again.
Go over the brakes , wheels and tires.
Reassemble and hand mama the keys to a new Honda.

That’s all, clean, rebuild engine, matched intercooler , small boost turbo, new exhaust (stainless steel) and new radiator, oil cooler. Interior redo, new seats some tint and wheels and tires!!!! OKAY, paint!!!!😂🎉😊😎

Clean it up and do a good paint job on it and maybe new seats as it got seat covers on it so I guessing the seats are bad.
Make sure the timing belt gets changed with the water pump.

Donna's new daily really is in nice condition overall being almost 20 years old. Since it's not 21 yet, just call it the juvenile delinquent, or JD for short. 😃
Does Dentley have shock position sensors? Without them, it's kind of tough to avoid the stab in the dark approach adjustments. We're looking forward to the Z-Max race and then of course Route 66 to relive last year's snatching that Wally! Cheers!

I would do a refresh on the honda. New seals, gaskets, rings, plugs, timing belt, water pump. Maybe do a 200hp tune. Maybe a supercharger or small turbo wife willing.

That's awesome for Ms. Donna ! I know nothing about imports. Beside the brands and models lol. And I know what a 2j looks like, and thats about it. My mom has an Accord 2001, less than 125k miles I believe. Has had no major issues with it. Hope this car meets Ms Donna's expectations and has fun with it!
I pretty much echo all of the great experiences with Hondas. I owned a 02 Si civic for 14 years and sold it with 235k miles. It still ran perfectly (factory clutch still). I name all of my vehicles, but for some reason it was known by all as "The Honda". Not sure why, a name just never seemed right, and maybe it doesn't need one. It already has a name that says it all

Needs a new interior 😢 but with overnight parts from Japan!!!! This will destroy anything. Needs a built swap with a small turbo. Body kit.

It's a shame that so much of today's education is directed towards college and higher education when making a good living can be made with hands on training and apprenticeship programs that pay you while you learn. First of all you need to get Jim'O to give the old John Deere a better driveway tune up, can't let the new flash S130 beat you. As for the Honda, bring that back to new like stock inside & out, and then add a snail with a bit of low boost. Those Honda's will give you many more miles.

There is all kinds of randomness for the D17 engines.. To include turbo kits... But if nothing else... Get the engine/trans rebuilt, clean up the inside (replace parts where necessary) and maybe get up with a local HS auto tech class, and let them take care of the body and shotty paint

Fix the car up for her, bring it up to date and paint what color she likes. You know from her last choice of transportation it will have to some performance and handling added. Name it "Prima Donna". In italian it literally means "first woman". In Clay's life I see she's got that slot nailed down. Or you could change the name a little to "Primo Donna" meaning excellent Donna.

Honda has a cool shape, I’ve never seen a 2 door like that. fresh reliable engine that can scoot, light weight wheels, comfy seats. Fun lil cruiser and prob 40mpg lol. Or… swap a midget / sport bike engine in there

Love the dakota. I had a 97 with the 5.2l. But I drove it from Washington to Texas. Texas to Florida. Drove it for about a year in florida sold it for more than I originally paid for it to someone that just wanted the manual transmission lol I should've kept it. But at the time had a baby on the way. I also went to a county technical school for automotive.
I know scheduling would be difficult and don't know "the timeframe" but if you got Brent and Kyle to come up and do some work on the Honda......content would be great.
Hey Clay, My youngest son Corey put on a Car show and Cruise night in our small town of Paris Arkansas last night. I don’t think we had any nitro, maybe some race gas, but boy did we have smoke. There are literally black marks from one end of town to the other. We stopped at our Walmart after the cruise and as we were walking around inside the store, We noticed that the store smelled like tire smoke. Lol the whole town was cloudy and smelled like tire smoke. It was great and everyone had a great time and Police dept. was cool with it. He’s doing another cruise in November ( weather permitting ) We hope it’s just as big. Burnouts in the snow maybe. lol Anyway, just thought I would share my weekend with you. Maybe you should drop in on one of our cruises sometime. We’d love to see you and your always welcome in our little town.
Go all motor. 300ish hp. Make vtec dump in hard. Enough to get goin when you need, but reliable day to day. Brent and the Boosted Boiz could set this up perfect for a good daily.

rebuild that motor, different cam, small turbo, get more power but don’t kill drivability. Repaint it, change all fluids, new tires and wheels plus obviously fix the interior. Might need new struts and brake rotors. Just a solid car with a little pop to it. Name it Rosie as it’s red like a rose and what lady doesn’t like Roses?

Throw it away or give it to Brent and buy Donna an integra type S. By the time you completely rebuild that poor old thing to make it legit nice it’ll probably cost twice as much. Ground up if it’s old school is one thing, but just another worn out commuter?
We call that a beater. Something you can drive. If someone door dings you at the piggly wiggly you don't get as upset. It will get great mileage. Clean it up. Update the radio with a plug and play unit that will Bluetooth and such to yalls phones. Call it good. Let Donna enjoy beating on it!

Old trick! Coat both sides of header gaskets with never seize! If they start leaking a little just tighten them up and you’ll never blow a gasket again!
Being a True V8 nut... The best thing you can do is increase it's value by the price of a gallon of gas and a box of matches....

This was good with the Honda I would go through all the drive train make sure it's all good put all brand new interior in it and color sand the paint and get with Sam for that and new tires and rims then I would get with Brent to talk to your wife so she can him how she wants the motor and for the of the car how about ROSE 🌹 it red the car is for your wife and woman love ROSE'S ❤❤❤❤

Decent engines no hot rod by any means.
2 things to watch for are definetely head gasket is notorious for blowing on these and the transmissions are the weak link.
Positives are it's a very easy engine to work on parts are cheap.

Clay, once you learn all about your Honda engine you'll be amazed. These things are built like top fuel engines. They have cylinder sleeves and a main bearing pan girdle.
Build it up and deliver to me. My car gets 10 mpg. I'm a handicapped capped vet and can't afford to drive much.
