I accidentally dented a small speaker aluminum cone while installing it. I thought about hot glue to pull it, but was apprehensive of trying it because I wanted to make sure I was not going to break the speaker. I tried other things, like duct tape, but didn’t work. Came across your video and this is exactly what I needed to see. I didn’t think about the Q-Tip though, that’s a great tip. So, grabbed a few Q-Tips and my hot glue gun and followed your instructions. It worked like a charm. You can still see some evidence if you look really hard, but the dent is gone. Thank you! I gave you a huge “Like”.
If you’re watching this video, you’ve reached the end of the internet. Lol! I dented the small aluminum speaker inside my iMac while changing the hard drive and this totally worked. Thank you!
What's a common glue that will work for installing aluminum dust cap to the cone? I have rubber cement, liquid electrical tape, hot glue gun, CA, and JB Weld epoxy here.
Great idea i would've never have thought about that

Its working good idea thank you
will this work on a 6 inch woofer with alumuin dust cap?
I don't see why not but without seeing the damage it's hard to say
This is awesome...anybody try a hairdryer to heat the aluminum...I've heard heat used for car dents that pop put 😳
Can use strong scotch tape, at the final step to pull out the very small dents. I have used it at JBL midranges alu dustcaps.
Saved my tweeter thanks! Hairdryer/vacuum cleaner didnt work

Ca should work well. But an e6000 is what I use
@@AntonJMiller E6000 sounds more like silicone or epoxy.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver its a rubberized glue, fairly standard use in the industry.
Gorilla glue will work too!
You could just use a vacuum cleaner get really close to speak careful. Works pretty much every time
Brace the cone to prevent pulling vc out-of the gap
You can also use jam...
he should have supported the cone while pulling, he took the risk of ripping the surround right out.
Right or spyder
