    I hate that the C-17's came into service after I retired. While in service I got to work on the C-130's, C-141's, and the C-5's full time, and working on civilian cargo aircraft also, and we knew the C-17's was coming, and overdue, but I retired just before they entered service.

      Amed Tajan probably. They were built to haul stuff that is unique to military operations...like tanks. These jets are set up to land on short dirt strips right where combat operations take place. Nothing in the civilian world that had these capabilities.

    Why would you want to be a fighter pilot when you can fly one of these beasts. Amazing it needs very little runway as some Afghans sadly didn't factor in Kabul. Within 2 secs it's doing a very steep lift off for safety & it's a few hundred feet up. Doh!

    I still don't understand how the walrus C-5 is faster than this incredible aircraft at typical cruise speed. I've talked with pilots at airshows and heard one mention regularly getting passed by airliners above them at altitude when at best cruise of .73-.74 Mach. Of course high altitude cruise is not the design mission of this bird. But still...surely Boeing can figure out how to squeeze another 30 knots cruise out of it up high.

    • @jeffrey9195
      @jeffrey9195 5 лет назад

      It doesn't really matter. Pound for pound this a/c can haul more than a C-5 plus it can land on austere runways and reverse on its own

    I see a female in the left seat but where's the OGP (Openly Gay Pilot)? The military is rapidly replacing straight men with chicks and OGPs but we never see the gays. Maybe the guy with the "rainbow belt" was an OGP. That's probably it.

    • @StrokerAce3983
      @StrokerAce3983 8 лет назад

      The OGP is probably in the back of the plane trying to convert straight men to the rainbow side. Or he could be participating in a gangbang so he can earn his mile high club membership. That why the woman took over that flight.

      Jason Forbes
      Just saw where obama has now removed restrictions on transgenders serving in the military and in front line combat units.
      How is that going to work out?
      Well, combine this with obama's campaign to rid the military of "toxic masculinity" and the "macho culture".
      The US can win wars (and the US loves going to war) without all those aggressive males, right?
      I don't know, but let's give it a try. Why not? What have we got to lose? Let's get rid of all that "toxic masculinity" and "rampant testosterone" and let's see what happens when the US goes up against Putin's Russian army.
      But first, give me fair warning so I can stock up on chips and popcorn and some nachos, plus a truck load of beer. And lots of cigars and fresh batteries for the shortwave radio. I'll drive out into the desert and pitch a tent, then kick back and enjoy the entertainment.
      If the US government thinks they're doing the right thing, then I really don't care who wins. (actually, I do...I'll be rooting for the Russians...but I won't tell anyone that..people might think I'm a Commie...)

    • @LeonAllanDavis
      @LeonAllanDavis 8 лет назад

      Mista Butterworth But men are gradually being pushed out of the military by female generals and admirals. Valerie Jarrett and Susan Rice have fired several high-ranking male officers and replaced them by women. This sends a very strong message to other men that they're not wanted.
