How do you think AI will affect Cloud roles? 🤔 Let me know! The first 1,000 people to use this link will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare: skl.sh/techwithlucy07231 ✍️
I fundamentally disagree with Mike, and even his explanation doesn't make sense if you think about it. He says: "It is a tool that will assist people so that they are more efficient", i.e. it is a productivity tool that will enable users to do more, faster. So if today you need 30 cloud engineers to do the work but AI makes each of them 2x as efficient then you only need 15 engineers to do the same workload...so why keep all 30? It won't completely replace professional workers, you still need people who know what they're doing to double check what the AI created, but it will reduce the number of professional workers needed to do any given amount of work. There are those that will say: "That just means they'll get more work done!" but businesses don't create workloads for cloud engineers for no reason, there is always a business priority that is driving that work and those priorities don't magically change just because workers are suddenly more efficient. There is going to be an impact on the professional labor markets generally over the next 5-10 years as this technology improves and becomes more ubiquitous, likely increasing competition for fewer jobs and thus lowering salaries.
Correct. I just spoke with an IT leader at a Fortune 500 (where I used to work), and their expectation is that current cloud engineers will be 5-10% more efficient over the next year, and as such expects to only need, say, 20 engineers under them, vs the 22-23 engineers they'd planned for earlier this budget cycle.
I was just thinking that! I thought you had to be somewhat intelligent to be in A.I lol. People that believe in this b.s are too positive for their own good. This “tool” Mike was talking about could be used for evil and good like money. If we can become more efficient with this “tool” then there will be no need to hire as much in anything especially when A.I becomes better. They could argue that when computers/internet came out people were afraid that it was going to replace jobs and it didn’t. Additionally it created more jobs. (True) So we should “just embrace it”. I argue the difference now is we are being replaced completely instead, more jobs will be eliminated than gained. At the end of the day its about the net profit and if I can hire less people to make shareholders happy I would. How ignorant can they be?
Dear Lucy can you make a video explaining the recertification process a bit more in depth, I understand taking associate recertifies foundation, and professional to associate etc, but does speciality automatically recertify professional, associate and foundation altogether?
AI is smart, it will find a way to replace cloud jobs. It’s just a matter of time approx 8-10 years. When organizations become cloud mature, automation using AI is inevitable.
I got accepted in a cloud engineer internship yesterday and this video is very helpful because what I should do is to learn all these AI tools or create one to be a better cloud engineer. Great video again!
I can't say thank you enough for your channel. When I've been in doubt about accomplishing my goals and entering my IT career, your content has help me revive my determination and dedication.
Great interview with positive message, Don’t panic and that’s the key. AI is all over for sure though. AWS itself is releasing so many generative AI integrations with other services like glue, quicksight to name few. Exciting times ahead.
First of understood very cleary chat gpt is not AI its act a AI but not AI. AI not lauch in market...its just trailer through chat gpt...after 9 years 79-81% job are AI module...and in company 4 lakhs above employees loss their job...AI is high module so someone say AI dont repalace my job...I said wait on and watch it..meet after 9 years
I think AI will effect every single profession. It's more about how the tools will make it easier for experts to work faster. So the real goal of any career now is expertise first and foremost.
You've got the best channel sharing AWS content on RUclips. Informative and in bite sized, which somebody like me can consume on the go. Keep inviting such knowledgeable guests.
Hey what's up Lucy!! Good to see you! Thank you for another awesome and informative video. Me personally, I don't think A.I. will take jobs but it will have an impact on the way we do business in the future so The question should be "What job roles may be replaced by A.I." for the simple fact of doing things more efficiently than a human. But that's down the line, so I'm not worried😊 Well as usual, I appreciate all that you do for us. Thank you for the free month of skillshare, that is very generous!!! Be well, be safe and Cheers!!!
Does qualifying to be a solutions architect at one of the top 3 cloud providers mean you need to work with one of those 3 for the rest of your life? you are stuck with Amazon for life or can you freelance and hop between jobs and industries
Thank you Lucy. Great interview. I know the information is very new-for a lot of us, but any suggestions on classes on the Azure and GCP side as well since multi cloud is an issue?
Is freelancing as a cloud engineer a viable option or are all the cloud tech companies sourcing all the work? I want to work as a cloud engineer however i want to work according to my own schedule and pick the projects i do as opposed to being designated what projects to work on.
Hey, I am a non technical guy holding a management degree want to enter in IT domain particularly in Cloud computing . What would be your suggestions if any?
Hey lucy, how are you? I just wanna ask you one thing did you started your career as a direct cloud engineer or you were in another domain? Basically i got my internship as a cloud engineer but i work in It operation so im little bit of confused. We just monitor applications 😅 although is not that simple but still

Why not turn out a Cloud Engineer with useful AI skilld then.
Unbelievable perfect!🎉😮 5:09
Great video.
I don't see companies willing to give Microsoft all their infrastructure. Instead i see companies hiring more AI developers to make their own tools
great point of view.
Wooo go Mike and Lucy!!
Dear Lucy can you make a video explaining the recertification process a bit more in depth, I understand taking associate recertifies foundation, and professional to associate etc, but does speciality automatically recertify professional, associate and foundation altogether?
Great video idea! From memory, i think the specialty certifications are seperate and don’t recertify anything else
I need a career in the cloud

Real-world human assistants usually replace their direct boss in the long run
especially when he or she is better and more efficient than their boss
Nice 👍

Yeah. Exciting times of mass lay offs and redundancies because of AI
Another excellent interview Lucy. Your videos are always so pertinent. Thanks!
Thanks for the positive feedback! Also I saw your comment about “Tech With Lucy” swag. It’s in the works 👀

Very useful video at the right time. Thanks Lucy.

What do you think on Cloud Support Engineer role? How it will impacted by AI?

Definitely not 😄 you can move between companies and roles, the 3 clouds are all fairly similar
Thank you Lucy. Awesome video as always 😁
Good work Lucy 🎉
Thank you... Very informative as always
