Thanks for your recommendation, Lucy. I had a very similar learning path. Not traditionally trained (I didn't study Computer Sciences) BUT am self taught. Managed to become a Data Engineer and now a Solutions Architect. I appreciate you sharing your resources - I am in the middle of learning AWS policies (service account access to S3, cross account readability, roles, etc.) and it's very challenging. I am trying to find as many labs as I can to practice because it is very fast paced where I work. Subscribed :)

@@zeeshawnali4078 It took me a few years. I didn't know where to start, so I just starting learning SQL. Then I got into Python. Then Linux. Through my journey, just practicing tutorials and certifications, whatever I could find online. That helped me get a job. Then luckily, the organization I work for was switching over to the cloud, and I was exposed to AWS. Best of luck to you. If you're passionate about this kind of work, you can do it.

I've just recently dived into the computer networking industry and was offered a job as a assistant network admin for a company in Seattle. Before getting this job I spent just under three months getting my CompTIA N+ and Linux+ certs and I also passed my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam after 3 days of studying. I know think I have a real knack for almost anything AWS and I either want to get in to software dev or Solutions Arch. If there is anyone out there with similar interest' I am always looking to make connections and work towards these goals as a group.

Hi Lucy, i have covered many videos from your channel just in a week. I have also seen your video on how the interview process is with AWS. I don't remember seeing how to apply for a position in AWS. On what criteria does AWS recruiters filter candidates? Does having professional level certification is sufficient to get a job in amazon? If not amazon how about any other companies? Does Amazon or any other companies expect you to also be good with automation?

Anyone able to answer the question of how to actually land a job with it? I've heard certs alone will not be enough. How do you get hands-on experience without being an intern? I have a full-time job at the moment but I'm hesitant to invest the time into this because I can't afford to take a paycut since I have a family to support

Hi Lucy, as someone who worked in IT support I would like to pursue AWS solutions architect cert, however, I am in the retail space and would like to gain experience while learning. Which solutions architect workshops would you recommend on AWS to go for in order to broaden knowledge and gain experience at the same time?
