I probably could've explained the Amass point a little better (video on that tomorrow) Currently I think it's a bit too soon for him (needs a couple of areas of development in the U21s) But long term he could certainly be a top wingback for Amorim!
Hey there Sporting Fan here, just for further info, ruben only used proper LB as Wbacks in the first season. Mainly because it was Nuno Mendes And Pedro Porro, awsome players who would do the entire lane like freight tranes. After loosing them he tried alot of players almost all natural wingers. Most of them connected imediatly. They are really just lane players, that are there to close down the lane and create defensive overload and imediatly atack when regaining posession. If you are competent at defending and have intensity you can do it. I can say that after selling Porro he stabilized almost always with a left footer on boths wing backs. One thing i can say tacticly that Sporting started to do since his arrival, that really was diferent and is Matrix almost, is ALWAYS play into space, and carry the ball to the box as much as you can. Not kick and run. Create space, pass to open player and let him run an open lane. Very importan detail. And in that regard, the left/right foot interaction is very important, to create easy 1 2 touch and put the ball on a free player. Prepare to see diferent is what i say, and prepare to lick your fingers afterwards. You ll want seconds... Also nice video. Love from Portugal, take care of this man please.
I like how you use 'could' - a bunch of channels are saying how Amorin 'will' set up, which is very presumptuous. It's nice that you respect both Amorin and your followers
Dalot and Antony. Antony has been poor going forward but he remains a very willing runner, he is a good tackler and has a level of aggression needed plus he is comfortable on the ball. It’s strange I know but I genuinely would be looking at him.
Not strange at all tbh. I see the potential for Anthony inhabiting the Quenda role. Amorim just needs to bring him back in for the cold and put an arm around him. What’s really exciting is that no one really knows for sure how he’s gonna set up, we’re all just waiting to see what he does next.
Im thinking Antony will be trialed at right wing back. A player with that price tag its unlikely he wont be given a chance and I think he has all the qualities Amorim looks for in a right wing back, hes skilled, determined, tracks, tackles, works hard. Its really just been his lack of product at the end that kept him down and in all fairness our front three sucked. I have a feeling that is a role Amorim will look at to adapt Antony to and see if it works. It would solve a problem for him quickly.
He would be fantastic, but we have seen before how much he likes being taken off the wing. Amorim might be the man to do it. They both also talks the same language..
Based on what you have said, I honestly think if Antony can get his form/confidence back, he is actually the best fit for RWB and for his overall quality/development/lack of natural fit as the two behind the 9, I think Garna will be first choice LWB. I think Bruno and Amad will be the first choice two behind Hojlund with Rashford typically rotating with Amad or even providing cover for Hojlund (Rashford is closer to an Amorim 9 than Zirkzee). My concern though is leaving out Mazraoui because long term I see Yoro, De Ligt and Martinez as the back three
He doesn’t look physically capable of playing wingback nor defensively sound enough. As much as many man utd fans want him to make it because his face fits i don’t think he is going to make it.
In my opinion you should do other clubs as well, after their games you break down the winning teams tactics......Am a United fan as your self but to grow your channel and on a business perspective it will help you alot..........Love your insights and your more than alot a see out there on yours stats💯💯💯💯🇯🇲
Rashford and Hojlund should be the #9 in Amorim system. Zirkzee should actually be a CAM when Bruno or Kobie cant play there. Garnacho and Amad should be the other CAM to complement Bruno. Kobie in the 8. Bruno can play in this position if Kobie is injured. And Mazraoui can also play this position. Casemiro depending on the opposition. Ugarte in the 6. Backed up by Lisandro and Mazraoui. Where Dalot and Mazraoui plays depends on which other players are healthy. I can actually see Mazraoui playing RCB until Yoro is ready. De Ligt center CB.
Last season, ETH was given the opportunity to extend his contract after losing 10 games in the Premier League (including 4-0 to Crystal Palace). For Mr Ruben Amorim, it is important to give him the chance to lose to at least to 10 teams (not home and away BTW). We cannot suddenly expect this team suddenly become Real Madrid or Barcelona overnight. So, do also expect some draws and some losses. It will happen. Although our hope is that this team can be successfull. First team first is against Ipswich Town who had beaten Tottenham Hotspur. You cannot be like the previous manager when he always say about what will happen in May. That is ridiculous. Take one match at a time.
Harry Amass is a 2 footed player his right foot is nearly as good as his left. He also has amazing stamina up and down that pitch like a yo yo and believe me he is strong 💪 I have never seen him bullied off the ball but have certainly seen him dust it out 😂😂
Something i thought about recently, "Plan vs Adaptation". We don't know if Amorim likes his wingbacks to be wingers, hes played with Mendes and Porro before... we don't know if he will continue that either. I just think we need to have an open mind
I can see Garnacho being converted into a wingback. Amad played attacking midfield for Sunderland and that is his best and most natural position. Harry Amass is a wingback
I’d have Mazraoui on one side as the slightly more defensive one and then the other side might depend on the game. Dalot away against the bigger teams maybe and one of Garnacho or Amad against the others. Very hard to know though.
my gut tells me we might be in for a surprise. we might see a back 3 but one that is not the usual one. a masively tweaked back 3. i could be wrong but it wouldnt surprise if we get a different set up of the back 3
You said technical but keep Dalot on the list? He gives away the ball away in his own half or on the halfway line so much it's embarrassing. He's gives up far too easily when defending (See Brennan Johnsons goal against us). The amount of times teams target whatever side he plays is a joke, even Leicester were doing it at the weekend and he got pulled for a CB to go play on the left. Let's be honest here, the only reason Garnacho scored goal of the season was because Dalot's cross was so awful that it took a worldie to make anything of it. I appreciate that this season options are limited but Mazroui is several times the player Dalot is, it's not even close. He's not good enough, we need to stop pretending otherwise.
Im surprised by all the people suggesting Antony for the wide positions. He had a hissy fit when he was told to be LB v Arsenal. Altough, Amorim uses LM & RMs of late as opposed to WBs so maybe he could rotate. Last season he used a back 4 temporarily, Antony definitely wont fit that. It's not guaranteed he'll set up with the 3 from the off.
I have a feeling Anthony might do a good job in this kind of role where his intensity and defensive responsibility are more emphasised while his lack of really top level attacking brilliance and creativity are slightly more forgivable.
There will be some trial and error, but I think Dalot on the left and Antony on the right to begin with. Mazroui at RCB until Yoro returns, then it might get complicated.
Yeah I should've explained the Amass point a little better Currently I think it's a bit too soon for him (needs a couple of areas of development in the U21s) But long term he could certainly be a top wingback!
3-4-2-1 will not work so well in Epl as Amorim found out in the 1st half vs City. That is why he changed to a 3-5-2 (3-1-4-2) which becomes a 3-3-4 (3-3-1-3) while attacking. For me Rashford will make an amazing Lwb if he buys in. Ugarte plays as the Lcm to cover for rashford. Mount as the Rcm, Mazraoui as Rwb while Mainoo plays as a register. Bruno and Hojlund up front.
Do you think Mount will have more opportunities in the middle under Amorim? If not, he might be a decent option at wing back. I think he'd bring more defensively than Garnacho or Amad, and more offensively than the other three options.
To say that quenda is predominantly right footed is not wrong but its not right either quenda unlike antony has the ablity to beat his man on the outside and get a cross in with his left foot as well as cut in to his preferred right foot looking for through balls or inswing crosses. I think Amad can do this role but would like him as a WB bc i feel like his carrying abilities would b better used in one of the 10 roles. Just my opinion
Liverpool bullied United in midfield because they identified a lack of physicality and speed there. Ugarte will improve the position but it’s not enough. I think Amorim will look to bring in his own choices for wing backs.
What would you think of Fatawu from Leicester at LWB? He is a 20 yr old winger who played for Amorim at Sporting as a wingback, and really impressed against us on Sunday
You'r ruling Amass out of being able to play as a wing back? That's a bit questionable imo. Maybe he's not gonna be ready at the moment (which both EtH and Ruud seems to have agreed on) but surely he's gonna be a really good option as a left footed wingback in the coming years. Malacia being ruled out for being injury prone is probably wise. But I'm not sure it's really true. If they have actually managed to patch him up and he's fully recovered from his injury, he might not be any more injury prone than other players. Before the injury he wasn't extra prone to getting injuries. So he might very well be able to play every game for the next two seasons. We just don't know yet if he's been fully patched up. I was thinking Mazraoui is maybe not the greatest fit for the wingback position. Has he really got the stamina to run up and down the pitch at a high intensity for 90 minutes? If he does he's perfect for it, but I'm not convinced at the moment. Garnacho and Antony seems like two players that really should be tried as wingbacks. Playing as a CAM or inverted winger doesen't seem like Garnachos jam at all. The wingback position seems much more inline with what he's good at. Antony is probably reasonably well suited for the inverted winger spot. But unless he unlocks some new levels to his game I don't think his end product is good enough. The expectations are probably not as high on a wingback. So that could be a good thing for him.

Mazroui should be nailed on for LWB imho. He looks really good in all phases of play, especially in build up. He’s very comfortable in possession and we’ve seen that he does have output. Provided the assist for Bruno’s second with a beautiful ball of his weaker foot btw. The only doubt about him playing that role is will he be athletic and injury resistant enough to play such a high intensity role.

Even if it's a loan or we have to make a wage contribution, it still frees up space on the wage bill for a younger and more reliable replacement.
Dalot & Garnacho for me. I think that’ll allow him defensive & attacking options. He may even swap them during games. Both are very two footed which I think will please Amorim. I think when all are fit we’ll see- Ohnana Yoro De ligt Martinez Mainoo Ugarte Dalot Garnacho Amad Fernandes Rasmus

Garnacho as a wingback is possible but it will be wise to stick him to attacking roles. Last season he was our most consistent attacker and even player, more than Bruno was for most part of the season. This season, he's had the most goal contribution so far, leave him to keep improving as an attacker. If any attacker should be converted into a wingback, it should be Antony, he's a better defender than Garnacho.
Still think bruno is an underrated shout for this role. I get that you want him central, but at the same time, hes capable of doing every aspect of the wingback role and with some rotations, you can still get a lot out of him.
That's a firm no from me. Why take the best player out of his best position just because he could probably do OK there. Why not play him in the position where he is definitely great?

@@Naren25realistically who is going to buy him? Will only leave on a free. Big if but when he is fit and playing his best he is our best player imo however I don’t see him as a wingback probably suited better to LCB
@@christiancatterson2965 Plenty of mid to lower table teams in the prem will take an injury prone player who can offer them more quality than any left back they could normally attract. Even if it's a loan or we have to make a wage contribution, it still frees up space on the wage bill for a younger and more reliable replacement.
Shaw could be removed as wing back
I bet Garna can do well at Lwb if he can improve his heading inside our own box
Dalot & Garnacho for me. I think that’ll allow him defensive & attacking options. He may even swap them during games. Both are very two footed which I think will please Amorim.
I think when all are fit we’ll see-
Ohnana
Yoro
De ligt
Martinez
Mainoo
Ugarte
Dalot
Garnacho
Amad
Fernandes
Rasmus
For me, Marzaroui on the right, Garnacho on the left. I would give Amad a chance in the inside forward position next to Bruno. And Dalot and Antony will be my backup option.
Amass can play at wingback lol quenda is just 17 he plays for sporting in wingback position on regular basis
Yeah I should've explained the Amass point a little better
Currently I think it's a bit too soon for him (needs a couple of areas of development in the U21s)
Quenda plays like a player ahead of his years, Amass doesnt just yet
But long term he could certainly be a top wingback!
Amtony is a no brainer .. he shd start at wing back
Remember Man U Played Under Van Gaal with 3 At The Back With Wingbacks
Yes, I remember that 45 minutes against Swansea.
Anyone remember when Conte won the league with a 343?
@@Naren25 exactly! people associate a back 3 like it’s 1 tactical set up. Formation ≠ tactics. Contes 352 is different from LVgs 352 the same way David moyes 4231 at Everton was not the same as klopps 4231 at dortmund.
Malacia and mazroui i think suitable for the role shaw and dalot as backup
3-4-2-1
Garnacho as a wingback is possible but it will be wise to stick him to attacking roles. Last season he was our most consistent attacker and even player, more than Bruno was for most part of the season. This season, he's had the most goal contribution so far, leave him to keep improving as an attacker. If any attacker should be converted into a wingback, it should be Antony, he's a better defender than Garnacho.
LWB: Alvaro, Robinson, Fatawu, D.Mcneill, E.Williams, Antony
RWB: Mazourai, Mantato, Missin, Quenda
Still think bruno is an underrated shout for this role. I get that you want him central, but at the same time, hes capable of doing every aspect of the wingback role and with some rotations, you can still get a lot out of him.
nah mate
That's a firm no from me. Why take the best player out of his best position just because he could probably do OK there. Why not play him in the position where he is definitely great?
@@gregoryboatswain1605 because other players can also do great in the original position and bruno will still do v.well there.
Manchester United needs to buy the players that suit Amorim's system. There is no excuse for United to not be active in the January transfer window.
Everything great except calling Sporting Club of Portugal ...."Sporting Lisbon".
It´s not the name of the Club and for us it sounds like it would sound for you ... Everton Liverpool or Arsenal London
I'd say play ugarte on the left wing, have bruno and caseimero center
Are u drunk
This video was brilliant. I am now forced to subscribe.
The first five minutes of the video wasted just to take us to what we knew all along. Who could play wingbacks? Surprise, surprise... Our five wingers.
Physical + Technical traits are KEY to establish before going anywhere near the tactical details 💚
Are you a Man United fan?..Y must show this secret ?..keep it to yourself..looks like you’re better than Amorim..😂
😂😂😂😂😂 always talking as if Amorim system is invulnerable. Plus he is not the first to play back 3
Would you like to see some videos looking at the weaknesses of Amorim? 💚

Antony? Dont make me laugh. He's lazy to play defend.
Antony has many flaws but laziness is not one of them
Hes one of our better pressing and defending forward players..
@@christiancatterson2965that guy is a fighter mate you are right he is never lazy
