    I've read the Bible twice from beginning to end. The second time I read it in cronilogical order and it made alot more sense. I have a collection of Bibles in many different translations. My favorite is the NLT New Living Translation. Thanks for sharing.

      Thank you so much for watching Sharon!! Yes, reading in chronological order makes so much more sense to me 😊 I really enjoy The Living Bible, I’m guessing that’s what they call the NLT now, and I’m looking forward to reading the ESV. Be well, Elizabeth

    This is such a Blessing!! 🙏🏼🕊✝️ Like you, I had read alot of the Bible too, but never chronologically...agree it makes so much more sense this way!! I subscribed to Kanoe after learning of her thru you & was so excited to start this year!! Sadly, I've fallen behind due to illness, then started to get caught up & now I'm behind again due to a new illness. I've been reading & studying what I can...
    Thank you for sharing your tools & tips w/ us...GOD BLESS YOU!!! ❤🙏🏼

      Thank you so much for watching Debbie!! I think the most important part is that you are reading; I don’t think it matters if you are on the same day as TBR or Kanoe. Kanoe hasn’t pre-produced like TBR so sometimes life happens and even she gets behind. Absolutely read and study when you can 🕊️ Be well, Elizabeth

    Loved seeing how you journal and the supplies you use! I love my journaling Bible. One thing I do is I have symbols that represent God, Jesus, Satan, love, numbers, etc. that I draw over the word. It is amazing when I look back and see the pattern or theme for that chapter based on those symbols. Very revealing!

    You were always my favorite "journal making' you tuber! I learned so much from you and watched so much of your stuff. When I found this today, I had no idea you did bible stuff. I'm a humungous bible nerd and I was super excited to see you doing this!!! I wanted to share with you a highlighter I use that doesn't fade or shadow thru my pages. It's a gel highlighter and I get the walmart brand Pen + Gear brand. When you highlight, it's kinda waxy and I blend it a tiny bit with a tissue or paper towel and it smoothes the waxiness down. And never ever bleeds thru at all!! Only thing is, it's hard to write over it. So I write first and then highlight it. Loved your videos and I'm so excited you're doing this now! God bless YOU!! ❤

    Thanks so much for sharing your Bible study and Bibles with us. I read one chapter a day chronologically in the NIV and make notes in--what else?--a composition book with religious scrapbook paper on the cover and tabs separating each book of the Bible. I'm on my third compo book now. I appreciate knowing about BibleProject and just spent quite a while watching several of their videos. Maybe my next Bible will be a journaling one. Thanks again!

    Thanks so much for sharing! I'm reading through the Bible this year too. I think I would have trouble writing in my Bible, but I'm thinking about it. I love the way you're going about it and so I'll consider getting a Bible to write in. I have my mom's Bible and wouldn't want to write in that. Also, I have two versions and my church has a third. Hard to keep up with all the versions! Thanks again. I'm enjoying this so much.

    Hi all, I’m also reading through the Bible and following along with Kenoe, (thanks to Elizabeth who mentioned it also at the beginning of the year) it’s really great and helps to keep me on track. 😊 I’ve tried a few years to read through the Bible, gotten behind and given up.
    A tip for highlighters is also to use a light touch, meaning try not to press too hard and not to hold it on the page too long, either at the start or end, so have an idea before you start highlighting where the end is. Also sometimes, you get like a little blob of ink at the end when you lift the highlighter, I usually use my finger and wipe it back but I also saw someone on RUclips show that if before you lift the highlighter draw it back a little and that also seems to work, hope that makes sense. It’s a great study and never too late to join in 😊

    Funny thing I saw in a Bible I have. There is a section that explains what happened between Malachi and Matthew. It says when you get to Matthew it’s like falling asleep during a movie and waking up and wondering where the characters went and who are these new characters. It was my giggle for the day since it’s 400 years later

    I wanted to tell you there is a Bible (the one I have is the ESV) called the Journaling Bible Interleaved. One side is the Bible text and the other side is completely blank for people who take lots of notes. This one is made by Crossway. I don’t know if other translations are like that too or just the ESV.

    Have you experimented with a light coating of clear gesso? I was thinking that would prevent bleed, but not sure if the pages are too fragile. Noticed the difference in the studied portion vs the not when looking at the edge and didn't think the warp would be much different. I've seen in the past where someone who art journals in a Bible did that.

    I am not religious (I was kind of brought up Catholic, and I went to Catholic school from grade 6-12 but I wasn't ever interested in religion) but I love seeing people's bibles that they decorate/write in. They look so pretty. Personally I like the bleed through and the indentations that the pens make. I love it when paper goes crinkly after you write on it with a sharp pen haha.

    Elizabeth, I am one of your devoted fans and I'm interested in at least checking out this bible study. I am the leader of the young adult sunday school class at my church. I say leader because I am by no means qualified as a "teacher". I study my lesson each week in depth and try to bring some new insight to the lessons we've heard since childhood. I enjoyed this video, but I'm a little confushed as to how you use them. I looked at the Bible Recap site, and Kanoe's site. Do you do both? I'm confused. I'd be starting at the beginning of course. Where to start?

    • @NeverHopelessbyElizabeth
      @NeverHopelessbyElizabeth  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much for watching Gayle!! I start by reading the chapters according to The Bible Recap’s reading plan. I read them on my own, highlight what I find important, and write notes. I use the commentary in my Life Application Bible to add to my notes. I also use the app BLB Blue Letter Bible for commentary as well. If I want a, “recap” a short overview of the reading, I watch The Bible Recap on RUclips, and might add more notes. I usually listen to Kanoe’s study while I walk the next morning. Sometimes I watch her videos during the day and go back to make more notes if I feel it necessary. She also gives access to her personal notes via google docs in her description box of each video. You might look at the link for Bible Project on RUclips for your class, they have some great visuals and videos imo. Yes, I would definitely start at the beginning. The Bible Recap is actually a whole program, but I just use the reading plan and watch the videos; they have a website with more information. Kanoe’s study is helpful for beginners imo, as she goes line by line. This is a study of the Bible in its entirety, but chronologically as the events happened in history. I hope this little novella is helpful. Bottom line for me is that I’m in The Word daily, the studies/videos have helped me understand on a deeper level, but I use them as tools. HTH 😊 Be well, Elizabeth
