The Florida story was a few minutes away, in the range of deliveries. Literally shook me, I will never do eats deliveries again, not worth the risk.. I've been in situations where it's the wrong house at 11pm at night and luckily it ended ok, but those buttons need to be 100% functional just in case.
I'm a former 911 operator - over 10 years in that job! 911 is not national, it is not regional, it is LOCAL! When you call 911, the local Police department answers that call. Why would you want it any other way? 911 centers can transfer calls to other centers based on need or locality - these are operators, not Police Officers. In the Uber app, you hit the 911 button and it will connect you to some call center rep somewhere (in India??) that has no clue where you are. Skip that shirt and call 911 direct!. I guarantee the response rate will be a lot faster! DAMHIK!
I accidentally hit the Uber 911 during a delivery and there was someone on the phone asking if I was ok and I said yes then I explained that I unintentionally had hit the 911 and we had disengaged and as I got back to my delivery the Uber 911 security option had CANCELED my order and I was stuck with the order. I contacted Uber about what had happened and asked if they can call them and or get there address so I can get there order to them but it was to no avail. This had haunted me for a long time it took me a long time to make amends with the pizza parlor I was delivering for.
After 4 yrs of every safety report being ignored entirely, my rule is call 911 or law enforcement directly, in any circumstances that is unsafe. Period. Then, provided I'm still alive, I'll give Uber a courtesy call to inform them that I had an incident requiring law enforcement. I refuse to be on record with ONLY Uber for anything safety related, or legal matters. I cover my ass, then tell Uber I have. Considering they can't even fix my stuck cancellation rate and now my customer contact features are not working, no way in hell I'm trusting anything in their app to work 'as advertised' lol
Can you guys make a video on how to handle a passenger who asks personal questions? I’m a woman and I feel really uncomfortable when complete strangers, usually men, ask me personal questions about my life. I don’t feel like it is any of their business to know and why do they even care? I’m considering canceling the ride on the spot if a passenger thinks it is their right to know about my personal life.
Yesterday I was trying to get out of Fred Meyer parking lot, was following all the rules and a guy in a big truck pulled in front of my car blocking me in. I was in my lane and he was kitty corner in front of me. He wouldn't move. So I got out to ask what he was doing and he rolled his window down yelling obscenities at me. This guy was irate so I got back in my car. He would not move. Maybe he thought I was someone else. I just started wailing on my horn and a bunch of people came to see what was going on. He still wouldn't move. After about 5 minutes and an entire audience watching... he threw his ice cream on my car and then spit on it. He finally let me out but continued yelling obscenities at me. I just looked at everyone and put my hands up like... I have no idea! You just never know what could happen out there, crazies everywhere!
It's just there as a buffer between real police. You call police that would be counted and it's not look good for Uber. So , they wants to make sure most of the incident should be counted as record .
when you get an Accident they call right away Even at 3am in the morning within seconds I wanted to make sure they don't get a lawsuit from the passages 😂
You drive rideshare? You are on your own. No one is coming to rescue you. Flat tire? Roadside is not coming. Change it yourself. Just always know, you and you alone are responsible for yourself.

Great advice
Yea we all know the 911 Assistance button is worthless. We can't count on Uber for safety. They just don't care and it shows
But still steals service fees and riders fares 😂

I am a guy and get asked personal questions by mostly women all the time. It can be uncomfortable. I Just pretend I didn’t hear them.
Just make up stuff............ 1. you just got out of prison.... or 2. you are married to a jealous convicted killer !!!!

I had the same thing happen to me.. i didn't call 911 the guy ended getting off my car at 30 mph an the girl going back to him ..
Don't rely on other people to save you ..
The lyft version works but if you are in a real crisis you will not have time to explain the situation.
I have screenshots that Uber is manipulating the surge how do I send them to you?
