I still had lv 50 party members ON the FLOATING continent itself but since NOTHING at this point uses spells for this grinding summon phantom and you'll NEVER die.

The BEST WAY to make the MOST USE of the leveling and stat gains is to LEVEL ONE character at a time using enemies like the "Tumbleweeds", "Lycaons", "Sprinters", and "Greater Mantises" in the Grassland Areas around the "Old Man's House" AND "Doma Castle". You can GIVE that character the "Growth Egg" to DOUBLE their EXP too!

and ALL of those enemies only use physical hits that's why with Phantom/Vanish you'll never die while Tumbleweeds CAN use Life Shaver (Gaia gear armors absorb it) that attack which WILL remove vanish is only used if you leave 1 of them left alive and they will use it 1 or 2 turns later but Firaga + 50 Magic Flame Dance with Sabin at 50+ magic will kill them instantly LV 5 death 1 shots all 4 of them instantly and failing that Banish does work on the Tumbleweeds.
if your NOT going to fight the T rex's YET try to Steal at least 1 of the Imp Halberd/Spear weapons off of the Greater Mantis enemies steal 2 of them since 1 its the ONLY weapon Gau can equip in the Pixel remaster and BET a 2nd one for Relms Cat hood helm not only does that HELM give out a 2x GIL drop rate BUT IT STACKS WITH the 4x GIL BOOST even MORE Gil so that the 10,000 Gil PER Cactaurs drop normally becomes at least 80,000 UNDER BOTH 4x gil cheat AND the Cat hood equipped on Relm.
The best helm for EVERYONE else are Circlets (Magic damage up boost) with CYAN being the ONLY one that SHOULD equip the Genji helm instead and in this version theirs only like 3 Genji helms in the ENTIRE game 4 of those on the GBA version.
Buy the Circlets in Thamasa now you only need like 10 of them.
WITHOUT 4x RIBBON users AVOID this forest the Braciosaurs can't be killed WITHOUT the ENTIRE party being immune to Disaster sure its a rare battle their but its still best to avoid it especially since if a 2x T rex Battle has them USE Meteor when THEY use it say goodbye to AT least 3000 HP when the T rex's use it and when the Braciosaurs use it or Ultima it will easily kill you even at lv 65 with 5000 to 6000 HP.
Growth Egg + 4x EXP cheat used = 8x EXP so about 40,000 exp if you fight outside of the T rex forest solo.
